Hey guys, Jason from Syracuse posting. I know I’ve run into some of you (Eiji) at TZ while playing some DR.
Zzy called me today and told me that they are hosting a SFIV tourny this sat night and a DR tourny as well. I believe he said 10$ for SFIV and $5 for DR. It’s being held at Carousel at the golf shack next to the arcade, I guess they have rooms you can rent out and such.
I think its shooting for a 5pm start and they rented out the room till close.
If you guys want anymore info let me know and I’ll find out. Usually Syracuse/Ithaca crew gets decent turnouts for our tournies so it should be a solid experience.

For all you who play in the albany, schenectady, troy area or any where within 45minutes of it, pm me or just let me know on this forum. I am graduating from buff state next month and i am looking for any one willing to really get into sf4. I play in buffalo with a regular crew of about 15 or more. We travel to tourneys and all that. Now i’m coming home and hoping this new game has sprung some people into life(cause before i came to buffalo nobody played sf anymore). I came down on spring break and played (held it down for b.lo) at play n trade in colonie mall, do any of you know those guys. Anyways i’m the hype up here and i’m trying to bring it back down(as you can see by my using caps) so get hype and lets play sf4.
Ps - i really need to find people to play as i am getting ready and trying to make the trip to evo this year. I am willing to host, find places to host, and travel to tourneys.

Me personally I’ve always played SF. I’m just not really feeling SFIV. While it has plenty of depth, the gameplay changes they implemented don’t work with me to well. I’m trying to learn. but I’m sure even if I do, I’ll think IV is garbage. I’ll play any other 2-d fighter that doesn’t suck.

Yeah that was my Dictator owning on a 360 pad (I cant beleive people are actually confortable playing on those things) and my brother getting owned with sakura. But for real I’m going to get things started when I get there. Trips to NYC and Jersey is what I am trying to get into. My crew up here should have a tourney before evo as well and that will bring in Toronto, Roc, and maybe some cuse guys. I’m pretty good at these things I just need people intrested so keep in touch. I remember playing a Claw, Gief, Sagat, and Ryu there. GOOD GAMES that day since I didn’t get to say so (I was in a rush because my brother had a performance that day.)
SF4 is not garbage. Unless you are playing Guilty Gear (Which I will own in),SF2ST or HD (Which I will most likely own in), KOF XI, or Blazblue (No arcade in within 3 hours = you probably haven’t played it) then your not playing any good 2d fighters. Plus why not play the game that you will get the most competition from.
SF3, MvC2, CvS2, CvS, CFJ, Melty Blood, Arcana Heart, Smash all suck as 2d fighters, though they are great attempts and many of them had their time in the spot light, they are either not complete, balanced or just broken. The mechanics in SF4 are fine and if you can find a truly valid argument as to why they are not I would like to hear it. But if you personally dont like the game then thats fine by me.
No hate or disrespect intended just trying to understand the few who are like this game sucks. No one has pointed out a real reason for it.

I some what agree with you nunie, problem is where we are there is no competition for street fighter as well. Honestly i think i like ST better than 4 but since there is no one that can dominate me here to the point that i learn from the matches than i cant get better. Atm the competition with our little crew is Tekken, and ST (well me and E1j1 for tubro anyways)
I’ll pretty much play anything, but I’m a Tekken play above all else. I’m just alright at other fighters. My problem is I try to play IV like ST and you can’t. My main concern is applying a wake up game after knocking someone down. But everyone can wake up with an ultra or another move and beat you out everytime. I havent really adjusted to this yet. It just seems too n00b friendly to me with the dumbing down of of the gameplay especially after a game like 3rd Strike.
You’re the first person I’ve heard that has said IV is better than fighters that have been EVO staples for years. All those games you listed you claim are imcomplete? What the hell is SFIV? That game is broke as hell.
When we have people that can only play SFIV and no other Street Fighter or 2-d fighter then I can’t say enough about it.
Like I said I’m trying to learn. But I’m a Tekken player and once Tekken 6 comes out I won’t have to worry about this game anymore.
What? Alot of people like SFIV, and the fact that those games have been EVO staples is because they’ve, uh, been around longer. And I’d like to see someone argue that SFIV is “broke” compared to 3rd Strike.

Does anyone else honestly thing SFIV is better than ST or 3S? Maybe I’m the oddball. I know the game is still new, but he was claiming that it was a better game then past 2-D fighters and he implied that it’s balanced unlike the games played at EVO.
They’re all broken and enjoyable.
