Back on track…here are some tidbits I grabbed from the Adon matchup thread.

-Adon can double-dash underneath high air fireballs for a free roundhouse or even Ultra. They can also use LK Jaguar Kick to go underneath high air fireballs. This indicates that we should be throwing air fireballs close to the ground in this match.
-Adon can U1 nearly any fireball (red fireball is especially easy) from almost any distance. We should treat this Ultra like Chun’s Ulta 1 - when it’s loaded, fireballs are a bad idea unless they’re part of a combo
-Adon can bait a DP by jumping in and doing an air Jaguar Kick right before landing. Watch out for this.
-The punch version of Adon’s Super does up to 126 chip damage. Try to avoid blocking it if you’re near the end of your lifebar.

I would suggest using LP air FBs because he won’t be able to dash under that and it will also hit him out of Jaguar Tooth.

Dash on wakup is also a pain in the neck. I cannot find anything to deal with it, aside from bating them into dashing and anticipating them - which only works on those who brainlessly abuse it.

Any suggestion about it? How do you guys deal with it?

This happens to me a lot against decent Adons. I suppose DP’ing as late as possible still works, but I find it close to impossible when I also have to deal with Jaguar Kicks and latency.

Why do I get the feeling you are trolling hard?

Some tips gleaned from Balrog matchup thread:
-EX Upper punishes jump back air fireballs - don’t get predictable with these
-Escape Tatsu and teleport out of corner can be punished with autocorrect U1
-Rog players tend not to TAP through fireballs once Akuma has U1

What do you guys think of this setup on Gief off a forward throw?

dash, whiff c.mp HK demonflip delayed divekick/throw/palm OS srk?

delayed divekick will beat lariat and crouch lariat, but Gief can forward dash under it.
Throw will beat out all reversals but will lose to dashes.
Palm OS fierce SRK beats out dashes and green hand but… loses to lariat.

Its much like going against Bison on wakeup since he has options to beat yours.

Dive Kicks can’t beat the magic lariat, the best you can do is mix-up your timing to throw off theirs.

Some more potentially useful info against C. Viper. I perused the Blanka matchup thread and found nothing new.
-Crossup air Tatsu can be Ultra’d
-Viper can o/s EX TK on a jump-in to punish a teleport
-Viper players were complaining that Akuma’s n.j. HK beats all of their air attacks on wakeup…this requires more investigation

Yeah, I think we mentioned this a while ago, while talking about UC2 being the Ultra of choice in AE.

I was wondering: does it work in Super? I guess not, but I can’t remember whether Viper’s crouching (hitbox wise) during EX TK or not…

Uh, this is interesting, what kind of moves does it beat? I thought that move had no use whatsoever, is that because of its 5 frames startup?

UC2 can punish OS EX TK in SSFIV too, it’s the burn kick that seems weird to punish since Viper gets low, hopefully teleport UC2 will punish that in AE.

I like using nj.hk vs Bison’s HS and DR, it looks cooler than nj.hp lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, I see. Totally didn’t know it (UC2 agaisnt EX TK) worked here too…

nj.HK looks cooler, but boy, the few times I use it, I’m always fear the thing is gonna fail on me lol.

Other than corner situations or on Akuma’s wakeup, it has worked very well for me vs his HS and DR. Tokido usually goes for the nj.hp probably it has a better hitbox vs most attacks, he does use nj.hk against Bison sometimes too though.

why not walk/dash backwards and punish with a full combo? (unless you’re cornered of course)

Good to know i’m not the only one left that still prefers U1 in the balrog matchup. I only use U2 vs rufus and when AE comes out probably vs. cammy.

Hey thats the question I asked him. It really is nice to have him be so connected with other players.

In the rog match up it really is a preference. It is one of the few match ups where both ultras are just as viable.

Poked around the Cammy forum, and the only interesting tidbit I found was:
-Wakeup DPs will whiff if Cammy does EX Spin Knuckle. I think this would only come up if we knocked Cammy down and she only had a few pixels of health left, but it’s good to know.
