Well the fact that only Zero, chun, spiderman and morrigan can do it makes it not so threatening to you, since only zero and morrigan are popular.

Never mind just got it. It’s not that hard to do especially on pad. It’s quite easy to do actually and just like the video says when u release buster u have to release it in a neutral position lol. But yeah this makes zero/phoenix teams broken IMO because they can just do this trick for free since it’s a mind game and if your mashing on down exchange its free meter. Or before a match starts i could tell my opponent that they better hold down s when i combo them to get in their head and then do this trick. It’s really dirty lol.
Zero/Doom just got a whole lot stupider and I just got a whole lot more convinced to drop Phoenix for good.
I still haven’t decided what team to play in this game.

I’m trying so hard not to play Vergil because fuck that character and I don’t even find him fun but he’s so good.
Any reason you don’t want Dante/Doom ?
I’m seriously considering dropping Strider despite being the archetype of character I play the benefits of playing an all round solid character vs a cheap ass anchor as more appealing to me now. Soon as I get back to playing Marvel I’m gonna take Dante/Doom for a spin instead.
That was my team in vanilla for a long time. I hate Doom as an anchor. Sometimes I hate running him on 2nd just because he can get snapped out to the back or my 3rd character can get happy birthdayed and then I’m still stuck with Doom on anchor and then I’m just depressed.
Zero/Doom/Akuma, Zero/Dante/Sentinel, and Zero/Dante/Akuma are all pretty good teams as well that I could use and forgot to mention (I used all of them in tournament at some point in vanilla too).
Try Zero/Doom/Ammy
Zero gets Hidden Missiles (retarded) and Cold Star (also retarded)
And Doom then gets Cold Star (retarded) and that THC bullshit that makes people want to rip their hair out.
Cold Star also works as a utility for Zero, giving him combos off of air throws and such.
I tried Zero/Dante/Ammy briefly in vanilla, took it to a tournament once too. I like it but Ammy feels weird to me and I don’t really have any interest in the character. All of the other characters I’ve listed I actually like as characters (except Sentinel but drones are worth it and he’s really fun for some reason, and Strider but he’s like having a more cost-efficient Phoenix in the back with a better assist).
Hmm think I’m the 1% that doesn’t hate anchor Doom.
Idk I like playing Doom, and I feel he kinda needs assist to be gay(er).
Doom anchor is subject to being lamed out, free. Like, its so free I don’t even think twice about xfactoring the second character and then proceeding to lame Doom out for the next 40 seconds.
You aren’t the first person I know who plays Zero and Doom but doesn’t want to play the dog, I can’t seem to convince him either. But I can essentially guarantee it’s going to be cheaper and more broken than whatever else you put in the last slot.
Also, I say Cold Star is a better assist than Drones, especially for the two characters who don’t give a single fuck about damage scaling.
Dark Vergil > Dark Strider
I see the merits of Ammy for sure but having fun even in tournament is really important to me (I seriously considered switching full-time to Zero/Iron Man/Sentinel as a competitive team) and ARF ARF ARF isn’t that fun to me.

Out of curiosity, why is Vergil such a broken anchor? Just spiral swords and x factor?
Spiral Swords beats out other Dark anchors
X-factor+Devil Trigger is fast too.
He can combo off of Helm Breaker solo in XF+DT (I think)

also if he has SS activated and you stand as much as 1 second on the ground, you’ll get crossed up.
How come? As far as i’ve read, SS+Teleport isn’t a real crossup, and neither would rapid slash be. Plus no assists to even help him cross up.
