Take those matches with a grain of salt; Dangeresque is way better than me. He places in money at tourneys, I go 0-2 to randoms.

I played in a neighboring town’s ranbats yesterday and ended up on stream a bunch of times (every game I played actually). Not really the greatest matches but here they are:

Small comments on Doom. At one point you could have killed Wesker if you replaced s.M launch with s.H Launch. Wesker lived after a mashed Doom Time.
I see your incoming mixup is based on j.L. At one point I was experimenting with sj.L, addf [sj.M | grab] in vanilla. It felt natural for the timing to blow past push block but also combo the M on a hit. I wonder if addf dfH butter gun will option select combo/throw in ultimate. I know sj.M would combo and if push blocked give time to get back in and setup a mixup. The reason I stopped is the timing was tricky and I started using Sentinel mixups instead.
sj.S timed to their entry is ok too. Ambiguous left right from above their head is hard to deal with. Follow up after by dashing on block for safety.
Do you find Magneto beam useful for Doom? Is it for some space control? You hardly called it with Doom on point.
I only do s.M in combos when I’m nervous I’ll drop the combo because my timing might be off, this was just one of those days.
Honestly I just need to find better entry mixup with Doom. Everyone is pushblocking the j.L now so I don’t even get a chance to confirm into a combo or air-dash down and jump back up for a grab. Crossing up on welcome mixup with Doom is hard too because of his giant mixup and if you try to crossup with f+H foot dive everyone knows what you are going for.
Yeah I need to use this more.
This is a combination of a few things:
-In vanilla I played Zero/Dante/Doom for a long time. Doom was always my anchor so I never had assists to call with him, I’m not used to it yet.
-I picked up Magneto I think 4 weeks ago now, so I still don’t really know when to call him. When I have Zero in it’s easy, I just call it when I want cover for a crossup like any other assist with Zero. Besides that I call it when I either want to punish an opposing assist call that I know is coming, or I call it before superjumping forward just so there’s something on the ground for them to deal with.
-I actually don’t think it’s that useful for Doom. It doesn’t really help him get in very well and he can’t crossup quickly like Zero to use it for mixups. I think the best use of it is to cover the startup of Plasma Beam/Photon Shot or to cover the horizontal axis while you throw some hidden missiles (other than the previous uses I mentioned like punishing assist calls). The best assists to go with Doom by far IMO are Drones, Vajra, and Cold Star… I think Hidden Missiles would actually be the best if it were only possible.
This is the situation I was in when I tried sj.L. It feels the right time to dash down for a followup on hit is also the right time to go through pushblock so you can stay in. Trickier but worth experimenting. Let me know if I’m dead wrong (so I don’t use it). If you mess up you get air thrown so I’ve opted to drop it myself.
I’ve seen people use all the Hidden Missiles, and just dash in against advance guard while calling assist. May work with Mag beam. Missiles drive them to the ground and if mag gives decent block stun could work. If you use [grounded] dash, pause trijump it gives you two dashes per jump to beat push blocks.
I’ve seen early ground photon shot L drive non air dashers to the ground for a high/low/throw.
Could try j.Hgun, call mags dash in. j.HGun I think is cancellable to footdive on block. Footdive can’t be push blocked if timed to mags beam.
A variation of the Sent mixup is just to jump fly, position, call mag, Sdive. Hopefully ambiguous left/right fall into beam, air movement stopped by dive. or instead of S use jump fly dash upforward, dash downback M for left/right/confirm.
Doom can fly and call assist while dashing like Magneto. Something to play with.

just sharring some matches that I had on the start of January on WP Cup here on Brazil, the one that JS master came and all… (not that he played UMVC3 at all)… anyway… forgot were are my other matches, I had some good ones on stream but I lost of the Stream lol… next time I will get that one… hope you guys like it.

Yo Kef i play Zero/Strider/Magneto and that hard tag combo is nearly exactly the same thing that I have been doing for a while, weird. You can also do the same thing off of Striders ground forward throw very easily as well. Now doing the hard tag combo off of Striders air throws is possible, its just character height and position dependant. Maybe I’ll post a video of it later.
Lots of other matches with me in there just doing casuals if you guys want some more of my Zero. Pretty good tournament, beat Flash Metroid in singles, Dieminion in teams. Really close matches with Noel and Dieminion in singles. Definitely awesome getting to play these top players.
Nice matches man. At 15:20 on the first video, when you do the lightning loop on Thor, are you doing TK inputs or are you doing something else? It looks like you get Zero higher off the ground compared to when I do it.
