so long as you guys can find a venue, I don’t mind covering directing duties for you until you come, or even running the whole thing myself. It sounds like everyone wants this to run, and i’m willing to put the time in on the tournament date to make this happen.

I’m a little confused. Is the venue not available without Dinoz being there? If it’s a 3rd party venue then why not have Dinoz broker the deal to secure the venue as usual and then have a makeshift staff run the actual tournament at the regular venue?
Just to clarify, is ST going to be HDR or Vanilla? With so many laptops available we could easily run Vanilla ST with adaptors and such. (Classic mode in HDR is NOT arcade perfect).
Also, how many per team?
People need to start posting up their prospective teammates in order to give an idea of potential entries.

The venue is a room thats part of my workplace. I have all the Keys and stuff, and if I were to set up the room, I would have to do it late friday or early saturday. BUT as is I HIGHLY DOUBT MY BOSS will allow me to have the tournament go on un-supervised by me (especially for 3-4 Hours).
ALSO Judging by the response, It would seem doing this on the June 20th Date would be in our best interest, since many made plans and is working around this date.
ALSO Buffalo is having a tournament the following weekend and it wouldn’t be fair for us to hold one as well.
ALSO alot of the equipment we use (ie TVs) wont be in the office the next weekend as it will be in a seperate room in a different building in prep for the Summer Camp portion of my work.
Hence I would really like to see this go on, ON JUNE 20th, AT SOME VENUE!!
I say this because the room is barely large enough to accomodate Crowd/Equipment. Also I myself would like to start working with venue(s) since I know we have the numbers and I want to start running more games from MORE GENRES!! (NHL 09. COD, etc).
RXS/Jay Wang - Do you guys use MSN? I’m sure if we put our heads together we can find a quick solution. Eric and co. haven’t confirmed a Venue yet so lets see what we can do. Our SC player Page is good friends with the people at Net Effect, but lets also look at our options. Also if NAGATA is not busy I would APPRECIATE any help in ideas about a Venue.
I would still like to see this happen. I can see this tourney having another 60-70 turnout. I’ve even had people call me personally asking about tourney location/age limit/cost/etc so lets see what we can do.

What about the place that Sauga tournament was held? In Streetsville, near the Vic Johnston arena?
i remember danny saying that the place cost to rent is around $400, so an extra $5 - $10 venue fee per person depending on how many show up. but damn that place is so far, costs me $20 in gas round trip
We’re doing 3v3 and it will be remix mode. Let’s hope these venue issues get worked out first though

Hey guys im new here. I didnt know there were tournaments in toronto till i found this forum. I kinda wanna sign up even though i know im gonna get my ass kicked. So hows the level of play for toronto? any youtube clips flying around that i can watch (SF4)?
not whining, just sucks that the venue changes from up the street from where i live to the other side of the city. i’ve built 2 custom sanwa sticks, including a dual modded one just for sf4 plus i purchased a 2nd xbox so that i can leave it at my parents house when i visit, i think i’ve opened my wallet plenty already.
