Updated 360 controller mac driver, Hori EX2, Mad Catz SFIV Sticks

Do you possible have USBOverdrive installed or anything that may steal the controller inputs? This was the case for my little brother’s EX3 for the PS3, baffled me for the longest time. If not, then I am at a lost. :frowning:

It seems to be working fine for me on Snes9X and ZSNES. So I don’t know. . . at least it recognizes it now.

Not that I am aware. The X icon has stopped flashing, and it shows that it is connected, but when I press the buttons, nothing happens. Damn shame, was looking forward to playing some games. I really have no idea what is wrong.

i read this thread 50 times all of the pages and looked at all the words. i just dont get it. i pmd tsphan twice and no reply. i googled every question that i could possibly think of, and the only result is this thread. i downloaded every single file in the thread and there is no app that i can see. can some one dumb it down? there is no dragging plist into apps any where on search engines that i could find from google to bing.

i actually came on this forum to ask user laugh to buy an xconverter360 but i couldnt even do that. i did come across this thread and i have the controller running in fusion but having it on the mac would be better.
-thanks

sorry hacksparrow, I thought I did replied back. . .

Anyways, if it didn’t get sent. The InstallerApp is this one:

Drag the new controller .plist file ONTO the InstallNewControllerList. Exactly as if you were trying to move something to the trash for deletion. So too do you drag the controllerlist onto the InstallNewControllerList app

If you can find the message I sent you, it’s much more thorough.

just noticed, that yeah, some apps which have their own input methods have problems with the LT/RT buttons (mainly in my case, Kega Fusion)… its no biggie though… just found it odd.

thank you so much… for some reason the automator would download and not show up on my leopard. so i did it on tiger and i got it. the plist works great.

to answer about rumble i tested it about 5,25,50 & 100% both motors work as they should.

as for my second favour i’d like a femme fatale te thanks jk

Just want to confirm that the cache update method tsphan posted was the solution for me. I already had Tattiebogle’s 0.09 build and an edited plist file, so my TE started working again instantly after the cache update. I don’t have any problems with other emulators like Snes9x. The RT/LT buttons not working, as mentioned before, is an issue with certain emulators not receiving axis button inputs.

I’m really unsure what I’m missing, but I never got SDLMame to work at all. I’ve tried different frontends but it doesn’t seem as straightforward as it should be. There’s no readme to tell you how to set it up or any help online. I’m currently trying with mamepgui.

So I guess we won’t be getting RT/LT button compatibility until a new updated version of MAME OSX comes out? A damn shame.

I remember messing around with Mac Mame a while ago and I think the RT/LT buttons worked on it. However it seems that none of the button setup menus even had a 5th or 6th button to assign. They only had 1,2,3 and 4. Also basically all of the roms that worked with MAME OSX are not compatible with it.I think I got Alpha 3 on there but it ran terribly.

This is just one big headache.Having to download all these files and typing stuff into that terminal thing.Way too complicated.

Well, I posted it here and sent someone a PM asking about SDLMAME, but there’s been no response.

Anyway, if you’re looking to play fighters with the RT button (for roundhouse), here’s what you can do. If you have CrossOver Games, you can use Final Burn Alpha (the one that comes with GGPO) on OS X and it runs great.

And also if you read this thread, you’ll be able to play people over GGPO too straight in OS X with no need to boot up Windows in Boot Camp or a VM like Parallels.

just got an hrap se, it is different from the regular hrap.

driver please?

Sorry about not replying! Didn’t realize it was question in the thread and didn’t notice the new message. I sent a reply.

And I agree with using Crossover Games, it does work amazingly well with MAME emulators. I’d also suggest MameUIFX32 as a possible windows mame emulator that runs really well on Crossover Games.

Need the VendorID and ProductID again.

This sounds great but I have no idea where to start with this crossover games program. What is a bottle? Also is this the right version of FBA?

Oh and Tsphan yes this did work. Thanks a lot.

thank you tsphan ofcourse it works like a charm, great work

Great to hear that it’s working guys!

A bottle in Crossover Games is basically a separate installation of the Windows runtime libraries. There are some games that require specialized settings in order for it to work. For example, a game might work best in a Windows 2000 environment with a virtual window size and hardware T&L disabled for best performance. While another one might simply need a Windows XP installation with a bunch of font packages installed. I have separate bottles for Counter-Strike and Guild Wars in order for them to not interfere with each other. From my experience with MameUIFX32, you simple need a Windows XP bottle. No need for anything more complex. However, I haven’t tried FBA and cannot make any suggestions as to how it works. :-/

Cheech, if you all you want to do is play some games, I’d say SDLMAME is the best option. tsphan explained to me how to get it working, and I likewise posted steps in another forum for those who were confused like I was.

I find that this emulator runs better than all other options currently, and it is frequently updated. And in case you didn’t see before, yes the RT/LT buttons do work.

The FBA version I used was the same that came with GGPO.

I got this far and I don’t really know what I’ve done:

I tried looking for that mame.ini file but it doesn’t look like it’s been made. When does the actual emulator appear on screen, like when do you know that you can load a game?Is it completely controlled from the terminal or do you get a proper program with it’s own menus afterward?
