Thanks for the info.
The thing is though I’m absolutely useless at all this terminal command stuff. I just want an idiot proof solution, like a compiled file of everything I need to use my TE stick with no problems.

Very well! I’ll use that as an excuse to work on my AppleScript/Automator programming. :wgrin:
The very best I can do is help get your TE stick working again on your computer with the latest Tattiebogle drivers. But the RT will still not work on MAME OS X. Hopefully someone will come out with a better GUI frontend for SDLMame or MAME_Tunes will be updated, making SDLMame a viable option for playing Mame on Mac.

This here is a ZIP file containing two files. An edited Info.plist file for Tattiebogle version 0.09 and the Tournament Edition version and an automator program that will replace the current Info.plist and update the kernel extensions.
NOTE: I do not own a Tournament Stick, but some people previously posted the VendorID and ProductID for it. The VendorID matches up (MadCatz) but I cannot confirm the ProductID. Hopefully it will work though! I also promise this is not a virus. It will not make any effects on your computer other than refreshing the kernel extensions and editing the Controller List.
Please let me know if this helps you to get your TE stick to work again.
Maybe once Tattiebogle releases the source code, someone could rewrite the drivers to convert the LT/RT to buttons using hades451’s instructions. The Installer App I made should work any such modified drivers.
For any of the other sticks, I’ve made another zip file that contains all of the information in myca77’s drivers. These will work for Tattiebogle’s 0.09 drivers. Use the instructions above, it’s a different plist file and called EX2-SF4-TE-009.plist in the zip.

I think the list of supported are:
Hori EX2, MadCatz SE and TE, MadCatz Fightpad, and the Retro Arcade Stick.
This is for anyone who has Snow Leopard and can’t use myca77’s drivers, or upgraded to 0.09, stuck in it, and can’t get their drivers working.
Remember, install the Tattiebogle’s 0.09 drivers first. Then install this new Info.plist file.
Hope this helps!
does anyone use hori ex turbo pad? first gen in blue. i tried a bunch of this stuff nothing is working, hopefully i did everything right
It looks like a really interesting controller. Are you trying one of the installation drivers or are you editing the controller list file yourself?
For either of them, you’ll need the ProductID and VendorID. You can get them by loading up the System Profiler and checking the USB information (Click on the Apple Logo > About This Mac > More Info… > Hardware:USB). You should see your controller there. Click on it and it should display the Product ID and Vendor ID.
With those, you can follow any of the instructions on editing your own Info.plist or just post them and I can update the app I recently made to install support for it too.
Also need to know which version of Mac OS X you’re running as well. As only version 0.08 and 0.09 of the xbox 360 drivers will work on Snow Leopard.
have you tried Mamepgui? It has an osx port which is compatible with snow leopard and is updated frequently enough (here’s a link to a release thread for it)
many thanks for the updated plist files tsphan, going to try them out in a few minutes
-edit- just tested the TEkit, works great with the TE stick
great to hear the TE stick works ibrahim
Also, thanks for the link on Mamepgui, it works great!
I’ll going to suggest to everyone now that is having problems with the LT/RT to install SDLMame and Mamepgui. Definitely the winning solution for MAME on Mac.
Trying in vain to get this mad catz pad to work with my mac. I’m pretty new to the Mac world, so I’m not 100% sure what I’m supposed to be doing, could anyone assist me?

I’m scratching my head and have been all day!
Well, have you tried installing the Xbox 360 controller drivers yet? Those are built-in into the original drivers themselves.
http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver
i have a specific problem of tattiebogle’s drivers not installing properly,
i ran the pkg several times, rebooted as well, and it says it successfully installed…
problem is when i access the pref-pane from System Preferences, it still prompts for 32-bit, and its still labeled under version 0.8, odd.
also, i did your installers, and upon connecting my EX2’s usb… the indicator just blinks repeatedly.
i’m under SnowLeo btw.
I think the 64-bit version only loads up if you load your Mac into 64-bit (ie, holding down the 6 and 4 during bootup). And I too have wondered about the version number. I believed that the maker of it completely forgot to change the version number in the PrefPane actually. The 0.09 update’s only real accomplishment was installing ChatPad support which is evident in the Info.plist. I think it’s safe to say that you have 0.09. Unless of course I’m having the same problem as you and the 0.09 drivers failed to clean out the 0.08 remains.
As for your EX2 blinking repeatedly, that’s pretty odd actually. Does it continue to blink or does it stop after a few blinks?
i tried the installation drivers.

i am using a macbook unibody with leopard 6, 7 & 8 run like crap on mine. thank you tsphan
Here you go hacksparrow,
I added in the info for Hori Pad EX Turbo along with the rest.
Updated file can now be downloaded here:
Use the Installer programs in the previous posts. Drag this new list onto the Installer, type in your password twice and hopefully it’ll work in a few minutes.
Let me know how this goes.
Could you also test the Rumble for me in the PreferencePane?
I’d like to know if it works.
i dragged the plist on the dock icon, over the pkg and in my system preferences, & nothing happened. i replaced info plist says cannot install over newer system. sorry for the trouble
Yeah tried all that and I’m pretty sure I have installed everything correctly, when I plug the pad in it just flashes constantly and doesn’t show up as being found…
OH okay. either… way, yeah, it blinks repeatedly, forever
even after several reconnects… really odd
hmm. . . you guys are right. . .
I’ll admit I never tested the MadCatz gamepad on version 0.09, only version 0.08.
I have never seen this flashing light situation before. I think I’ll try some reinstallations and maybe downgrade to 0.08 and retest it. I’ll let you guys know if I get the Madcatz Gamepad working again. If it does, then I’d hope the EX2 works with it too.
Alright, so I downgraded back to 0.08 and I can confirm that the MadCatz Gamepad works again. So the problem with the continuously blinking lights seems to be something involving 0.09.
To reinstall 0.08, you should be able to run this edited package that will allow you to install it. If not, you might need to delete all of the 0.09 files first. But this will most likely overplace all of them and so deleting them shouldn’t be needed. And just a heads up, this installer will state that it failed. Lord HDL provided the info on this problem, the drivers will be installed.

Then you will need the edited Info.plist file that includes all of the previously added controllers but for version 0.08. Located here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ulndymwylmm
You then drag that file onto this automator app that will copy it over and update the extensions. (You can do this step yourself, just follow my instructions some posts previously). If using this application, remember to DRAG IT ONTO the InstallNewControllerList application. That was the only way I figured out to make it install certain files.
http://www.mediafire.com/?hnevrtloi5q
Note: The Quadrant 1 Light won’t light up unless you reboot after reinstalling the 0.08 drivers. But following these steps should make the controller work. It is also a good idea to wait a few minutes after you install 0.08, because it will attempt to refresh the kernel extensions. Let it finish first, and then update it again. Or just reboot after you install the new controller list.
Good luck everyone! Let me know if there’s any success. If not, I’m a two-time failure. :wasted:
If anyone knows how to edit the original install app itself to include the edited Info.plist, it will be greatly appreciated by all! I kept getting an error when trying and gave up on it.
i love you tsphan
Good news! It now recognises a pad, BUT!!! Bad news, nothing seems to happen when I try to configure buttons No emulators work with it, specifically Fusion and Snes9X
