I haven’t tested Lion yet and am unsure if it’s working properly. Creativedeveloper is also working on some modified versions of the drivers, I’m keeping up with him to see if there’s any new progress but I haven’t installed Lion myself yet. And neither has he. Tattiboggle might not either yet.
cool. thanks for the update. will just wait it out.
Hi there, I stumbled upon this while trying to get my Madcatz 4716 to work with my macbook Pro. I’d already used tattiboggle and failed to find the controller, and it looks like there are some good solutions on this thread. Hopefully I’m not repeating past questions too much; I read the rest of this thread up to this point but I have little to no experience with Terminal so I didn’t get everything. Anyways. I’ll try to post everything I’ve done so far because i don’t know what’s important:
I have a macbook pro, OS 10.5.8 (leopard)
I installed Tattiboggle’s driver v10. then I plugged in my controller and it didn’t register. I searched around a while and found this thread, and tried to install the updated file listed on the OP. I couldn’t install – while in the install panel that selects the location to install to it said i had a more recent version.
I then selected the icon in the preferences pane, right clicked it, and removed it. I tried installing again and it didn’t work.
Next I went into system/library/extensions and deleted the files 360controller and wireless360controller ( can’t quite remember the name; is there another file in that folder i need to delete?). I tried the install, failed, rebooted, and failed to install again.
I opened terminal and typed sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions ( like it said in the post; i don’t know what that means), and then my password. It still won’t install. I downloaded one of the various applescripts in the thread, designed to overwrite v9 (i have v10) and it didn’t work.
I rebooted another time, just to make sure, and i still can’t install.
I think i’ve removed the original driver, but either i missed a step or my computer doesn’t want to recognize that it’s gone. Again, I don’t quite know what I’m doing, I’ve just tried to follow the various advice throughout this post. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me figure this out. Thanks!
Just to be a pain in the backside… here’s another guy who is really looking forward to having this work with Lion.
Will there be any harm in trying? Seems like there are some issues with incorrectly installing these drivers then trying to get it work later…
Just an update, I have managed to get this to work on Lion without much hassle. Installed firstly 0.07 modded driver (hoping to get the digital trigger function to work) and then tried 0.08. Both installed without an hitch. Dragging the controller-13 plist onto the installer app also seemed to work flawlessly.
My madcatz SE is detected fine, and works in MAME OS X, but having that RT trigger issue… might just rewire my stick cos as the moment my 360 is out of action.
Where did you get the modded 0.07 driver?
Sorry didn’t see your post.
Here you go, as it was linked above. http://www.creativdeveloper.com/?p=103
EDIT: Weird. Now for some reason my SE stick is no longer recognised. Tried installing it in a variety of combinations, as well as the plist file… and still even after a reboot its not recognised. Hmm… it definitely was working a few days ago. Tried both 0.08 and 0.07 drivers…
You can add Hori Fighting Stick VX on the document (.Plist) ?
thank you
You need to give me the vendor and product IDs found in System Information before I can add it to the list.
Ok or you can find this information (vendor ID and product ID)?
If I could find this information, it would of already been on the list. But I don’t have one.
Use your System Information tool in Mac OS X to find the VendorID and ProductID under the USB peripheral information. Just copy and paste the whole section for the Hori controller and paste it here. It’s going to be in the format of 0x1234 and 0x1234, with 1234 being anything from 0-9 or A-F.
Ok sorry! I’ am French so I’ have tried to translate into English but i’ don’t speak english (google translate)

IDEAS FOR LION
PDP Afterglow - 0x1BAD/0xF900
When I try to add the resourcer script it wipes out the current controller list that I don’t care about in the first place. My point though is that it seems the problem with lion is that the controller list package that you created somehow can’t be added. Either that or it doesn’t show up in the panel. I was curious if their was some other method of manually inserting the controller list.
^ I’m not very good with computers so to speak, so if you could clarify this step for me that would be great. Also, if that doesn’t work is it possible to insert the controller list another way. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure if this is the problem with lion, but to my troubleshooting knowledge it is. Your input would be greatly appreciated
-Thanks
–> some way to install that file into either 0.08 or 0.10 would work I’m hoping… =/ (I’m hoping it’s a simple fix for lion, but idk)
I have been attempting different things for a while now and am totally baffled. I’ve been following the youtube vids laid out by sincerelysaint with no luck. Btw I’m running lion.

Here’s the updated version with the Hori FS VX on it:
Please refer to version 13 for any installing info.
Sorry bud, without Lion myself I can’t fully check to see how to get things working. Personally, I’m gonna stay on Snow Leopard a bit until Lion matures some more. Sorry I can’t offer much help.
Thank you it works my stick is recognized with Mac OS X Lion only is it impossible to play with mame. If you find a solution I said

Quel type de MAME utilises-tu? Et qu’est-ce que c’est le probleme?
That’s about all the French I can remember up from my lycee years
Mame 1.22 because SF3.3 it is fluid. Mame does not recognize my stick while my mac yes
