I actually returned it. I mayve actually gotten a defective one, but in the case it was me (which I always assume, but the problem was pretty bizarre), I didn’t want to swap in out then return it again. Very very dissapointing. Luckily the ol fightpads are half the price they used to be now.
I may actually try getting another one from a diff gamestop tho. The benefits of the switch are far too great to just give up. Just tell me this… when you’re in training, with input display on, can you tap a diagonal direction and have the display read only one input (the direction you tapped)? If so I mayve actually gotten a bad one. It was literally impossible to do that. If I tapped DL (down left), the display read L DL D or D DL. And 4 out of 5 qcfs to the left read D L with no DL, and failed. Facing right, 4 out of 5 worked correctly (D DR R). Simply wasn’t workable
Re lerning 2 stik, been there done that, not interested. Thx for the insight, tho.
So then you can tap downleft and input display will just read DL?
With controller issue, I always blame myself unless proven otherwise so I’m not just making excuses. But it seems like I may very well have gotten a bad egg. : /
Hey guys! One question about zero… I’m trying to learn the LL and I noticed two things- I can rarely get tiger knee shoryukens on the two player side, and need to be more consistent with tk raikousens in general. I haven’t gotten a successful loop yet but one day!! Any tips or exercises I can do to improve? And any tips about the two player thing? Or will I be like marn and only be able to do it on the right side XD
I agree the most important piece is willingness to put in time to master the loop.
There are tricks though. They are more like suggestions or guidelines. Technically you can attempt any version of the LL and it should work. Reality is consistency comes from knowing the most lenient form and how the loops work overall.
Easiest version: buster lightning, TK lightning, Tk lightning, jump buster, lightning, TK lightning, TK lightning. trick is to jump buster pretty low to the ground, about half of what a full normal jump up would be.
You should experiment with higher jump busters, trying to do normal jump to a decent height and then lightning, things like that. That will help you get a feel for the different leniencies.
Yeah, you’re right. There are tricks. Ah, I didn’t mean to sound mean. >___<
Sorry if I did. It’s just that when it comes to doing stuff on the left side, you do kinda have to just do it. @_@
General LL stuff there’s options, but doing stuff on the left side is just something you gotta make yourself do. :S
Kassandra, keep practicing is still the best advice. Thought I’d try explaining what I think works though. took months for me to get loops to where I’m confident I will actually kill people with them. If I could go back and teach myself I’m convinced I could be consistent in days or a couple weeks.
Again it does take a lot of practice. I used to try the vanilla version all the time because “Look at that damage!”. Not worth it in matches though. It is very good practice for the easy form though.
Another tidbit is to realize the way the game buffers your input is strictly time. The faster you put the TK motion in the longer you can wait to physically press the button. You can do get it so they game will buffer the motion and your jump even if you are a little bit off in your timing, then watch for the jump then press L . For that to work properly you must do the motion fast. Don’t really try for fast to start though. As you practice fast will get easier (always start your bad side first, then a few attempts later change to the other side. training mode option SELECT + START + DIRECTION will fast switch to corners).
for me I actually switch up my hand position differently for each side. Right side ( good side) I kinda use my forearm more than I should. Left side is very consistent though because I switch up to more of a wrist motion. I get very very fast TK motions with wrist flicks, and very little effort to do.
Hey guys, I know this question has probably been asked before, and I’ve noticed that it’s been asked already on this page (but no response), but I’ll go ahead and give it another shot: I’m trying to use Vergil’s Rapid Slash assist during Zero’s combo (at the moment, during the third relaunch, where it’s an immediate j.S into the assist, followed by another j.S to cause the knockdown). However, whenever I try the relaunch, the opponent always techs out either before I can land the first j.S or before I can get the second j.S (after the enemy hits the Rapid Slash). Any advice on how to get this to work on a consistent basis?
By then, hitstun is already pretty high so the timing is a bit tight. But you want to call Vergil right as you land then hit s.S when it looks like your opponent is going to touch the ground then j.S 2x.
Anyone know of a way out of a Zero/Jam session unblockable setup besides alpha counters/XFGCs?
specifically I have sogenmu active so I do s.H, then call dante, then command dash L , j.S dash c.M. Thanks
two player side, just practice it
if you want to be consistent with the tk raikousen’s use hidden missiles like this
c.m s.h f.h s.s (call missiles) j.m m h s land, sougemnu (missiles hit) tk raikousens
it makes the lightning loop 10x easier because it puts them higher and the timing is easier
you can get 900k with one loop if you find the right assist
TBH that really is a wasteful way to use missiles, use it if you’re gonna kill but just go for the HM ender otherwise. Get 1.2m easy. Nothing will make doing LL easier than actually practicising it and not finding shortcuts to doing it .
Thanks for the advice guys. <3 Funny thing… Some days I find myself waking up, turning on my ps3, and hitting training mode… Quite literally “lightning loops for breakfast” ><
