*UPDATE*3 v 3 SF4 tourney,T6,HD Remix, Fuddruckers January 24, 2009 Sunday Concord

you held it down!!!

OOPS WHERE DA CHAT GO!?

HAHA NUB.

Congratulations SoCal! Victory well earned.

Also good job iplaywinner for doing your best under the conditions given. You will always be infinitely better than ufrag. Always.

I don’t think very many people were disappointed about Tekken… honestly there was a small turnout and it looked like there were time-constraints. Then again I can’t speak for everyone, I’m just saying.

Tournament was awesome save for the tool with the halfro cursing and yelling at people.

Great Tourney like always! I’ll try to be there for the next one if there is one.

 GGs everyone and thanks again for hosting. These are always really fun and I greatly look forward to the next one. :wgrin:

Agreed, that and the TVs outside of the CRT that my team played on were nasty laggy.
But other than that the atmosphere was great as usual and now that it’s winter, it wasn’t one big sauna in the party room.
GS to all the teams that played, especially top 3.

First off, I’d like to thank Haunts and everyone who contributes to the relentless efforts of IPlayWinner… anyone who has actually contributed to what we do understand that this is a labor of love with very little recognition or money. Haunts and IPW work hard with little recognition. Give it up for the guys who sacrifice their time and efforts.

Thanks, you too. It was fun.
But shots out to IPW and the stream crew … **Big thanks to Vitto **for speaking up and making it happen … for taking a momentary break from the IV matches going on to stream HDR finals. To be honest, I wasn’t even going to ask to get the game streamed until the HDR players asked about it, because I felt that SF4 was overwhelmingly overshadowing HDR. But Vitto made a good point… It was FINALS, and deserved to be showcased.

In this vein, Tekken finals probably should have been showcased as well, but it’s also up to the Tekken community to make arrangements to make it happen if they feel the need for it.
But GGs

Shouts:
Ramin, Vitto, and everyone else who put in work to make Fuddruckers happen.

HDR players, you all know who you are, and much love for representing.

Team How Do You Pow aka Team Asian Impregnators:
No matter how well/badly we did, we had a ton of fun and I don’t regret shit! Kineda, good shit on joining the team, and also for entering HDR without a single day of play beforehand (I was rooting for you all the way, and proud you pulled off that win!) We’ve got to play together more.

Great tournament! Some great matches between Norcal/WC/EC. Was that shiro or combofiend/ I couldnt tell.

Good shit to Vestax and Thrust on the HDR, shit went smooth as usual. Im getting top 8 next month, believe that.

I recorded some matches, ill try to post them up later tonite.

hmmm i can feel your pain on the fact that they would have obviously low internet capabilities in that facility… however the way that your refering to the upload speed dropping down to .1 mbps at times really sounds to me like packet loss that could have been contributed by a faulty cable. not saying a different cable would have produced higher upload speeds than that but it might not have been so unstable.

anyways i don’t want to seem like i am hating on all that hard work because i’m not at all just trying to offer some suggestions that might improve the situation. because i know how much work must go in to a event like fuddruckers and/or streaming it.

Hello Brothers,

This is one of the most memorable tournaments evar!!!!

^ that last second whiff overhead to sweep against f.champ had me dying when watching the stream. GS lamerboi

Thanks for running the fuddruckers tournament very well as you usually do. Congrats to Socal taking it. Combofiend…You are a monster!

I enjoyed meeting a lot of new people this time around. GG’s to Cj showstopper, Rudy,(whiteshadow on srk,) and jack. I played you all in casual matches and it was a blast.

lol, glad you enjoyed that match

Just want to chime in real quick and say we attempted both wired and wireless connections and for a period of 2 hours the internet simply did not work on either set up. We checked the cable multiple times and I did all I could to keep it as straight as possible when it was all said and done. I appreciate the concern but you have to understand we attempted everything we could think of over the course of 4 hours before getting everything live.

All I can think of is there was about 6 guys downstairs all with their laptops on doing lord knows what so I assume they juiced all the bandwidth that was available or…something… who knows, who cares, all that matters is it worked and the awesome matches were archived…

We needed more turntables and music. Less wireless routers.

haha, yeah next time no stream just jams. i like that idea. fuck the internet.

Good shit to DGV and MongoloRobokop for reppin’ Denjin in the top 3 at this thing! Really exciting final match!

Wow, this was a very street fighter filled weekend. I’d just like to give props where props are due and to of course say thank you to all who supported my team as well all those who were just so pleasant. Go NorCal hospitality!

To Thnxyoutoo and Haunts: Thanks for being cool and holding down the stream. You guys spread the scene across the world to the Street Fighter deprived on a poor connection. Thanks for your hard work.
To Vitto and Ramin: Thank you for throwing this event. It gave mike ross, keno, and myself something to look forward to this weekend and a chance to see this fuddruckers tournament I always hear of.
To Crackfiend: Thanks for chatting and hanging out early on and also commentating on the stream even if people were hating on it. You can’t please everyone on the stream though, what can you do?
To Rom: Thanks for owning us on Saturday and cheering us on on Sunday. I don’t know whether to hate you or love you.
To Choi: Thanks for just having an awesome presence and showing my new school teammates that OG magic.
To Freelapino Chump: What happened in the finals? It was wild to see you crack under pressure as you’re normally good at the whole composure thing. I hope you weren’t offended by the trash talk as it’s all fun and games. I’ll work on setting up some money matches for you for when you come down here. =)
To Ricky: Thanks for adapting and then raping me. Luckily my teammates saved me.
To Team Kapital: You fools are hilarious. The matches were intense and I’m glad I finally got to play you three in a tournament setting and be able to hold my own. Thanks guys!
To Rufus: Thank you for being the toughest matchup for abel.

This trip was both fun and exhausting to say the least. I’m glad we were able to represent and shake things up a bit. I still don’t know how you guys can all drive so far for tournaments though. The distance was ridiculous!

Until then, always remember to bet on black!

Yeah ill say. Im glad our glad clutched out 4th=) Good games to team Always Bet on Black and Team Free Money. I wish i had that wiff overhead to roundhouse sweep clutch

Damn I will probably go to the next one, glad to see my brother Jarrod(shinobi master got 4th) even though he was really sick with a bad flu.

Who, Me?

Thanks to everyone who came out, SoCal Good showing up! thanks for attending, our first team event, was … interesting. Always bet on Black you cats were a class act. Thanks to Thrust, Nima Ramin Iplaywinner and everyone who came out to make this a success.
I’m looking into a real projector now, and also doing a little research into a different Venue. Once again, GG all.
