My avatar is originally 200 x 200, but why is it still pixelated? I changed it to 400 x 400, and it’s still the same. :(
Because it’s scaled up from a 29x29 image.
Because Vanilla Forums. It’s being handled, there’s a few things a bit more important than avatars at the moment. Moves like this always comes with some pains, but I figure in a week or so things will be back to normal. I’ll take a forum that can actually load a page in less than 5 minutes over pretty avatars.
I guess you’re right. Receiving notifications if someone replies to my posts is much more important than avatars. It’s getting harder to keep track of threads I’ve been participating to. :)
Avatars will be getting fixed shortly.
@MrWizard - thanks for all the work that you and your team have done on this. All quirks aside, the functionality of the forum has definitely improved, and it’s appreciated. Unfortunately, people are more likely to bitch when something is wrong than to give praise when something is right. You guys made a good call switching over to Vanilla. I can actually access the site now :p

Do we get an “advanced search” where one can do more than just search for smth (search by person, search in only specific forums, etc) some day? Or is that already there and I’m too dumb to find it?

no but you do get a completely useless black theme that makes it impossible to differentiate posts and goes away when you post something
Double Post Incoming.

Never mind…after working perfectly the last couple of days now the Dark Theme doesn’t work properly at all…oh well back to Vanilla Blue.

<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2” style=“font-size: 10pt;”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>the front page of this site is an absolute clusterfuck. id recommend doing shit a la eventhubs or teamliquid. they have it so you can narrow it down between games, videos, news and shit instead of having the front page a bunch of posts which end up being combo videos that barely anyone gives a rat’s ass about. not that i dont think that they should be there, its just that if you’re going to cater towards multiple communities, you have to make it so that its easy to find information on shit instead of having to go back 10 pages to find a post that was put online like 3 or 4 days ago.<div style=“font-size: 10pt;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>

also, if you do this, you aren’t ripping off anyone. there are so many sites on the internet that do shit like this. i think its preposterous not to have this a standard.

So the blurry avatar thing is fixed now?

Also how are we supposed to quote people that have spaces in their names?

i dunno what you’re talking about they’re still hella blurry
My avatar is blurry and not animated, despite the fact that I uploaded a crystal clear animated gif.
<p class=“p1” style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; line-height: normal;”>
At work I get an error when trying to post. No such error at home.

Error:

InsertIPAddress is 22 characters too long.

<font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>T<span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>ried several threads and different message contents.

That’s because supposedly, the way the avatar’s are currently enlarged is by taking the picture you upload, converting it to a non-animated 29x29 image, then enlarge it to its current size.
Will there be a feature to return to the top of a page?
Also, if I may be of any help editing/proofreading, let me know.

That “expand” button is a bliss!
The @ notification doesn’t seem to work on names that have spaces.
Ah yeah, why is there no “PREVEW” button? When I edit a post, there is one (that is hella broken btw).
