UOH --> kara demon

Maybe it’s a common trick but i think i never see it in this forum or in a match, so…

UltraDavid topic about UOH made me think about following an UOH (opponent in corner, but i think it works in middle screen too, not test enough)with a kara demon(forward MP), and it appears that if executed a bit late, it connects in point blank(so no escape). Am i wrong?

Another thing, i think (but not able to verify as i cannot do HK KD consistenly) that an empty UOH following by a cr HK KD can be point blank too…

Can someone else test both of these things?

I’m kinda thinkin’ that if a UOH touches and opponent that they’ll be outta f+mp Kara Demon range and by the time that you got back in range the command input will have expired. The cr. hk/st. hk might work, though.

I can test that later today and tell you tomorrow. Also an HK KD is the toughest by far. You almost have to press the buttons so quickly that it’s like pressing them at the same time. But if you press them too quickly you won’t get the Kara range. This is part of why f+mp gets used most often: it can be activated anywhere and isn’t nearly as hard. The cr. hk is a bit easier though and still yields more distance than f+mp.

Ok, i tested a bit more…
Only works in corner, but really gives no chance to opponent if well timed(and it’s really easy)…
I think it might be useful as classic response to UOH for opponent is wait or sweep or anything but not a strong attack like SAx or EX move or even jump(especially in that case where opponent is in the corner)…

I guess I should be slapped around a bit for not mentioning this earlier…

Not sure what the deal is if the opponent keeps walking backwards after getting hit by UOH, but if you follow up a UOH with a slight walk forward and then CR.HK Kara demon, it will deffo get them. f+mp will not work in most situations - only if they’re cornered and you still did a bit of walking up which just makes f+mp kara infinitely harder.

I use this setup so yes - it works. Only problem is that people either 1) hit with a counter poke after getting hit by UOH or a UOH themselves 2) If close, they may try for grab or tech throw 3) specially when you have two bars, they’ll jump like mad when you are that close to them - all of which will stuff the demon attempt.

^ True. I tried it on Dudley midscreen and if the UOH is done point blank, you’ll still be in Kara range. Problem is, liked Naz stated, opponents like to jump/counterpoke/act up when you’re that close to them w/ full meter. Not to mention the midscreen setup demands that you get point blank on your opponent twice with those two bars and for me that’s a bit of a stretch.

UOH Hk kara is guranteed to work.

Unless they jump out and counter poke you know.

i swear demon connects after uoh
