Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

YEEES!

Well, at least last time I played it, I thought it was [which was about 6 or years ago. LoL]. The game’s music and style were off the hook in my opinion.

Doubt it.

Apple tried to make gaming a key focus in the past. Look how that turned out

+1 on ComixZone. The only game I bother playing on the Wii.

As much as I love Megaman, I actually agree with this. If anything, the blue bomber has been whored out via a slew of incarnations (NES, X, Battle Network). Granted, he is one - if not the one - of their recognizable mascots. But BC as well as Strider have been shamefully under represented.

I think you’ll like KOTOR a lot. While character and NPC interaction as well as story are not as elaborate as in Planescape (which is why the hardcore Torment fans like it less), those aspects are still very well developed compared to other games, and the battle system is massively more competent; I suspect it could be the WRPG for you.

Back on topic of unpopular opinions, Vagrant Story is one of the top 3 games ever released for the PSX.

This paragraph actually made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I’m glad to see the game’s appeal transcends its technical limitations.

Though I still think Halo 3 is awesome.

My favourite game on the Genesis. That game was so fucking fun and original for that time…

Yeah, I think I’ll like them, I’m geting both.

Agreed with Vagrant Story BTW, probably the best thing Square ever did.

I love you for this, so much.

Now, onto the unpopular opinions.

I think that difficulty != skill; in fact that’s one of the many reasons I hate the FG community sometimes. Brutally technical/difficult/tedious inputs and mechanics can ruin games for me, they’re clunky and/or fucked up attempts to bolster gamer’s e-penises. Oddly enough, I love Guilty Gear XXAC.

Kirby Crystal Shards was a better 3D platformer than Mario 64 by leaps and bounds.

I love competitive SSBM and SSBB. The no items Fox only Final Destination shit gives it legitimacy as a fighter and makes it as deep and interesting as some of the sacred cows here. Speaking of which, Brawl and Melee are better balanced (in the Sirlinian, character variety sense) than 3s and Marvel combined.

Dat Mahvel is both the best and worst fighting game ever made at the same time.

Guilty Gear XX has the best video game soundtrack of this millenium, Rez and Katamari Damashii come close though.

I find online chat in shooting games to be hilarious in a sad way.

Final Fantasy I is the best FF game ever made. :looney:

And Valkyrie Profile has the best soundtrack of the previous millenium.

MK: Mythologies was a great game. Yeah, I said it.

I have a hard time explaining how the game works to people who are verifiably smarter than me and are supposed to pick up on stuff like this easily. MvC2 is seriously unintuitive to the untrained eye, who sees random high-lows at best and mere button mashing at worst. It’s extremely unrewarding to the new player to get destroyed by Magneto and Sentinel a million times before being able to devise a viable gameplan. By that time, most sensible people will have moved on to other things, and it ends up being the same old people trading off on the cabinet.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is the best Final Fantasy game.

KOTOR 2 is better than the first.

Splinter Cell is much better than any of the Metal Gear Solid games.

Super Mario Bros 3 is better than Super Mario World.

I certainly found Splinter Cell’s controls to be much easier than MGS, and I really did ejoy SMB 3

Except that Crystal Shards was a 2.5D platformer. Kirby still hasn’t gotten a 3D platformer yet.

Tomba 1 is the best 2(.5)D platformer ever.

…if you dont count that crappy HUD world in Kirby Air Ride.

1000 lives cheat is the best way to play it too. I can’t tell you how many times I sat there all day having fun dying.

The VG industry should make more bad games that are fun instead of good games that are boring.

Hey, I said that pages ago, too! Let’s make babies!

Well also Air Ride was more of a racing/combat multiplayer game than a platformer. And yes, it did suck hard.

Shenmue is one of the best RPG’s ever made.
Guilty Gear XX AC is is recycled garbage. Move on.

LOL What? Yeah, now you’re typing for the sake of typing.
