Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

As a huge Nintendo fanboy, I say it again: The XBox 360 is the only one that isn’t garbage. That isn’t to say that it’s a great system either.

Bear in mind, when I say “great games” below, I mean universally awesome games, not niche games. I love Elebits and Star Soldier R, but those games are unfun to 90% of gamers. Having a bunch of aweosme niche games IS a plus, but it doesn’t make it a great console. Like the Dreamcast and Saturn.

Wii: Has about 2-3 great exclusive games: Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid, and maybe Zelda, plus a bunch of old games. Brawl is a trash competitive game, especially when put next to Melee, and is only an alright party game, depends on who you hang out with. Piece of trash online service too on the Wii in general, but it’s free. Basically Wii is a console you play a bunch of Wii Sports, Zelda, and Mario on, and then it collects dust.

PS3’s only exclusive great games are Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resistance. All the none-exclusives have far better online with the 360.

360 meanwhile has a bunch of great games, exclusives as well, the best online service by far, a bunch of great niche games off of XBox Live Arcade in addition to strong system-sellers. Every genre from RPGs, shmups, shooters, puzzle, adventure, beat em up, flight, and platformer all have plenty of support on the console. Lots of content. It’s not really that great of a system, especially since I hate 360 system sellers like GoW, Halo, and GTA, most of my games are XBL Arcade, but has lots of good games niche and mainstream from all genres and the best online support. It has the system failure problem as well, basically making it the new PS2. At least they’ll replace your console for free.

Summary: PS3 and Wii have little content and shitty online. 360 has a bunch content and great online service, but you might have to wait a few weeks for it to be repaired. Really, the only reason to get a PS3 and Wii is for the next games of your favorite series like Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Zelda, Metroid, Super Smash Bros., Mario, etc.

nigga we clearly tried to kill the console discussion.

You also forgot Ratchet and Clank Future and Uncharted and the other downloadable games on the PSN like Echochrome and SSHD.

Now the console talk is over.

Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank are among the best games on any system, but aren’t mentioned, yet somehow X360 gets a paragraph about how good the games are. Don’t get me wrong. I think X360 is an awesome system, and unlike some people, I don’t think that this generation of video games is trash. The X360 is great, but it’s just too much like the PS3-minus-Blu-Ray to make it a justifiable purchase, let alone “the only console that isn’t trash”.

And while I admit that XBL is better than PSN, is it really THAT much better? I’ve yet to have any problems with any game I’ve tried playing online, although my online experience is limited to CoD4, GTA4, MGO.

So basically, X360 is better than PS3 if you:
-don’t care about Blu-Ray
-prefer Elebits to Warhawk, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank

PS. Why is console vs console discussion so taboo? I think it’s a good discussion, as long as people aren’t retards about it.

Because some dummies take it too personal and get way too passionate about this stuffl. It’s like discussing religion and polictics in the real world but for nerds. It’s fun enough for me as long as no gets too fired up about it.

About the rest of your post:

Elebits is a Wii game, and better comparision would be Halo, Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden vs those

Hell yeah 360 has a better online. Pretty much no lag what so ever against peeps with decent online, pretty consistent input delay, not like GGPO good but as close as a console I seen get to it.

But the point still stands that Wii and PS3 have just a few good games, little content in general, while the 360 has lots of content and better online

How do you reckon that PS3 has just a few good games while 360 has lots of content? Like I said… cancel out the games that are on both system. The AAA exclusives remaining on each system can be counted on one hand, and they’re fairly equal. If anything PS3 might have the edge, since the majority of X360’s “killer appz” are on PC, and MGS4/MGO is out now.

I haven’t had many problems with lag either with PSN either. Every now and then, you get a shitty host from overseas in CoD4, but it is the exact same with X360. I’m certain that X360 has better online support, mainly with XBLA, but not enough to truly matter and definitely not nearly enough to offset Blu-Ray.

 @ no lag

No such thing exist. Especially on the 360.

Exactly.

Lag isn’t a “system vs. system” issue, sometimes is happens, sometimes it doesn’t.

Lag is strongly dependent on the person’s connection as opposed to the netcode. The netcode IS essential, but the connection is what keeps it stable. GGPO and 2DF have excellent netcode for fighting games online, but there can still be lag present during a game.

warcraft 3 is funner then starcraft

even though starcraft is like 10x the better game

I figured it was just because I was such an ultra fan that I thought SFIV was looking medicore. I just hope it helps Street Fighter get more of a mainstream fan base. I don’t like that Street Fighter 4 is cannon wise SF 2.5…that seemed like dumbass idea to me. But in terms of mainstream appeal it makes the most sense…cause mainstreamers don’t want to play a game with Ryu and Ken in their mid 30s (or older) right? right.

I have unreasonable expectations for Street Fighter 4. I want it to look like an anime, I want it to be totally 2d. I want the storyline to get deeper and continue. I want cutscene (anime) endings. I want a bomb ass soundtrack on par to SF II, III and the Alpha games…but different in style to separate the periods. I wanted a shitload of new characters, more new ones than SF III. But I also want a shitload of old characters too. I had unreasonable expectations for Street Fighter IV.

I think it will be medicore but I will buy it anyway. Capcom knows they could can make a medicore SF game and we (fighting nerds) will get hard…as long as it is better than Capcom Fighting Jam.

In short…Negro Chanler summed it up.

I have my doubts on SF4, but SRK is more judgmental on fighting games than any other forum community, and everyone who’s played it seems to like it. Nonetheless, I still think it looks like garbage and I hope to god that I’m dead wrong. I hope it’s popular too.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the best sf game. Yea, I said it…runs and hides

I was honestly expecting better than Rufus. El Fuerte looks like an early SFII design for Vega they had. I remember the pictures in an EGM when SFII first came out.

Another one:

  • I don’t think Chun Li is hot. Never have, never will.

dont lie

All I see is a skinny asian mime with clown make up. I hope I see her at the comic-con though…

:confused::rofl:

:amazed:
I guess big legged, pantyhose clad china girls who could kick up a storm just aren’t your type then. More for me then! :lovin:

Here’s my most unpopular opinion:

Japanese arcade parts are trash. Yep, I said it. Trash.

The thin shaft feels as though it’ll snap if you look at it funny, much less try to play anything that requires quick movements. Having a square shape down at the bottom is completely retarded as well, unless you like trying to crouch at inopportune times.

Hell, it’s probably why all the arcades have people around to replace the buttons when they go. Must happen so often it makes good business sense to employ someone for that purpose…

So, yeah. Bring on the red bars, suckas!
