Interesting…this is good news to me, as I fear all 360 owners suffer the same fate of inevitably being on system #2 sooner rather than later.
…and oh yes, I’ve been playing Pacman C.E. on a daily basis since it came out.
I also agree on the bots issue. It’s funny how some die-hard fans will defend any stupid decision with their precious game/franchise…even the exclusion of something that should’ve been a standard feature since the damn mid/late 90s.
-BioFreaks had great potential…it’s just the execution of the concept was mediocre.
-I also think Eternal Champions needs another chance with today’s standards of visuals. It won’t happen though, since Sega apparently doesn’t care that they’re basically sitting on a gold mine of IPs that could be amazing with today’s tech.
-Multiplayer shouldn’t be the only focus. My major gripe with Shadowrun now is that there is absolutely NO kind of single player story mode…nothing, not nan as they say here in the south.
Odin Sphere: I just played this game for about 15 minutes, got bored, saved, and went back to Pac-Man CE. So far, I don’t think Odin Sphere deserves a THIRD of the hype it’s getting. But hey, Play gave it a 10, so it MUST be good. No surprise there. It’s 2D and it has the option for Japanese voices to cater to the pretentious fangeeks (no offense to those who enjoy Japanese VAs for non-otaku reasons), so how could Play NOT give it a 10? Bah.
Raiden III is garbage. What a fucking disappointment.
I’m glad the Project Sylpheed demo sucked. It’s by Square-Enix and I can safely say my decision to not give them anymore money is in no danger of being broken due to some old shooter by the makers of Lunar.
Nash > Alex >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> rest of the cast. Nash should’ve been much cooler, but they had to make his betrayal a big joke. I was honestly expecting some heart-wrenching stuff, but no, he just comes back and nobody bats a fucking eyelash.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear: I meant a video game version of VS. beyond just Marvel. Thanks though.
NINJA EDIT - How many people on SRK play the VS TCG (electronic or otherwise)? I’d kinda like to make a VS TCG thread, but I tried once and it sank faster than than AI did when the aliens came.
I dont really talk about games anymore since listening to other people is pointless, I mean how can anyone not like old nes, platformers, rpgs, street fighter or any good games. If you dont like those things then your not a gamer to me and ya fuck sports games there I said it.
Edit: and ya Wipeout racing games are some of the best racing games ever, people need to give them a try.
I can’t play VS. Too many cards too little money and too little friends to play with. And I don’t like playing with random people at card/comics shops. It’s a shame, too, cause I love CG’s.
Theres also the 10% interest you have to pay to unmortgage something. I’ve seen that neglected. I’ve also seen everyone starts with a random property.
Once I actually read the rules and didn’t just play like I was told, the only house rule we used at my house was you have to do bidding by fives to avoid retardedly long bidding wars of one dollar. Only time you’re allowed to go up by something that isn’t a multiple of five if it’s your last dollar.
Edit: I just checked the rules, I didn’t think mortgaging was called borrowing money.
I’ve spent countless hours on the survival mode, which got insane when you were bullet-timing with like 50 people on-screen–bad guys in suits getting knocked around and flew all over the place like the Agent Smiths fight. Action was not short in supply in this game. I was under the impression that it sold well and got good reviews.
3D GTA is the greatest thing to happen to games since Street Fighter 2 reinvigorated arcades in 1991.
Gran Turismo is a tie with Grand Theft Auto for sheer awesome, and they rank number 1.
Racing games are totally the best overall genre.
Games like Oblivion, Odin Sphere, ect, are for nerds.
any quirky game is for nerds.
Sports games suck.
Street Fighter is dead.
Wii fucking sucks. Working at Gamestop, all I hear is “Got any Wii’s” NO I DONT HAVE A FUCKING STUPID GAME BAD GARPHIC WII!!!
I’m almost at the point of wondering, whats the point of trying to keep these old ass 2D fighters alive? If Capcom dont want to freshen shit up in that genre, fuck it.
analog sticks suck ass. D-pad 4 life.
3rd strike is a fucking snooze fest. We get to watch super thunder thighs ChunLi walk back and forth throwing out the same 3 attacks. If not that, parry into grab.
playing fighers suck, everyone is too anal. System Direction 3rd Strike is >>>> normal 3S. EX grooves in CVS2 >>>> normal. Hyper SF2 >>> Any normal version of SF2, and Hyper Alpha >>> Alpha 3.
SF Alpha 1 is GREAT. Chain combos, better shoryuken, anti air shinkuu hadoken nuff said.
I hate how people talk about the old school days like they were worth a damn. For every Zelda or SMB3 there were thousands of titles that were garbage, just like today. I understand nostalgia and rose-colored glasses, but at some point you need to stop fucking deluding yourself.
Actually, there was probably more crap games on the old school systems then now. But the industry is still sad. Idiots keep feeding them money for half assed interactive movies. Yeah…that’s right (interactive movies). When I was young I honestly did not play my nes. Half of those games were better on arcade at your local boys and girls club imo.
If you want an unpopular opinion-I’d tier the systems based on apps. not specs: In order from left to right
QFT Tier:PS1-2/SNES/DC-Saturn/N64
High Tier:Gen/DS/360(DMC4 no ps3 $ spent, possible MGS4=win)
Mid Tier:GBA/Xbox (Ninja Gaiden)/GC(TOS/4 Swords/Ikaruga/SSBM)
Low Tier:GBC/NES/Sega CD
Garbage Tier:Virtual Boy/3D0/everything else
oh yeah, that’s another interesting one…the GBA/Gameboy was such a beloved system, but look at the good/crap ratio on there…it’s horrible. There were only about 3 or 4 games I enjoyed playing on my GBAsp. Everything else looked like garbage that was usually developed for a target audience that is only 5 or 6 years old. In fact, it may have the most terrible library in the history of this industry, not counting obvious bombs like CD-i of course.
Legaia 2 (sequel to PSX’s Legend of Legaia) isn’t as bad as people say. In fact, playing it right now and it’s quite entertaining, though I do wish they still had the Japanese voices. Lang’s English VA sucks ass.
Sony fell off with the PSP, not the PS3. The PS3 was just the final nail in the suckage “act like N64 era Nintendo and get stomped” coffin.
