Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

WOOHOO! WAHAA! WEE!

Yea Mario’s is pretty inoffensive. Sonic’s ranges from fine, to fucking awful, it just depends on the game.

Also spin dash was better in sa1 but sa2 did have better light speed shoes

Link’s handedness matters, and not offering the canonical southpaw even as an option was a huge fucking issue in Skyward Sword.

I still haven’t bothered to finish it yet, due to this.

Hate how us left handers get shafted at every turn because right handers are fucking babies.

lol we are? Man that’s news to me.

I’m no Zelda expert or anything but isn’t Link a different incarnation in every game? If that’s the case then why can’t there be one right handed Link?

I’m left-handed but I play Sports and do a lot of things with my right hand. Can’t say I’ve ever had trouble playing a game because I was left-handed.

I dunno, I feel he talks too much post N64.

Only as a speedrunning game.

Honestly the only games I can think of where he talks more then in mario 64 is in the mario and luigi rpg series. I’m not sure I would really call that gibberish talking either.

I couldn’t get into Mario Sunshine. Game was not as hype as Mario 64. The removal of some of Mario’s moveset in his transition to Sunshine was ass, and the water jetpack mechanics were not that fun and could be extremely tedious when you had to “clean” certain areas.

Aesthetically the game is bright and colorful, but playing it is not that satisfying or fun. The level design and gameplay mechanics felt so…shallow, for some reason. It’s one of the very few mainline Mario games I never beat. I almost never beat Wind Waker because of the Triforce hunt padding BS. Also, sailing in Wind Waker was boring as fuck and that sea while huge, was just as empty if not moreso than FO3 and Skyrims worlds.

3D Zelda games never got better post OoT and Majora’s Mask, and 2D Zelda games were the pinnacle of the series. ALttP and Link’s Awakening > any 2D topdown Zelda game after it. I doubt the ALttP sequel on 3DS will touch these games, and the wall mechanic thing in that game looks stupid to me.

The weaponry, actual good level design and sub-items all disagree. The mechanics and amount of depth to them was still mostly there, even though some aspects of it took a step back compared to DN: 3D.

It stands out a lot VS other FPS games. How many FPS games can I hit enemies with a shrink ray, then run up and stomp them with a satisfying little squish sound? None, other than DNF and DN: 3D.

It’s the same with the freeze gun. How many FPS games allow you to freeze enemies, then hit them with any follow up attack shattering their asses into a million little pieces? Not many. DNF, DN: 3D and Resistance 3 are the only FPS games that come to mind that let me do this.

Mines were sweet, too. Ah, such good times with DNF and DN: 3D.

This would of been valid 8 years ago.

What’s with you saying something I totally agree with then the very next thing I completely disagree with? Agree with Mario Sunshine (then again, this was right around the time where I lost interest in games).

But DNF all had average weaponry, levels, and items. The items are worthless. I played it on hard and never needed to get drunk or use steroids. The wave of enemies are rarely difficult enough to justify it unless you want to go all DSP on the game. The weapons weren’t unique at all. I liked that the freeze gun regenerated ammo but again it was just another rehash. I can’t think of a single “new” gun in that game. And the levels are extremely linear. Total opposite of Duke 3D that not only had secrets but alternate paths that allowed you to get the drop on dudes if you took the time to explore and experiment. That was part of the appeal of Duke 3D, you could play a level however you wanted. Only semi-unique thing they did was again taken from Duke 3D in that level where you have to shoot the shrink ray at a mirror. The strip club and tutorial levels were completely worthless and not funny.

And you fight the same. Fucking. End boss. TWICE. No change in his pattern at all. Only difference in the last level they throw a bunch of low level dudes to annoy you.

I never played the expansion pack as it didn’t look much better.

I beat Mario Sunshine, 100%. But I would not do it again. Especially that pachinko mini-game. That can eat shit and die.

I feel that 2d platformers are video games at their finest.

-TvC>>>> mvc2
-Persona 4 arena had the best top 8 in evo 2013
-SF3 at the highest level (talking about Japanese major tournament level) is one of the best SF games

Yea, I agree. I think America has proved itself as a force in anime games as well

Well yes, the characters are always diversified in Japan and watching move creatively with their characters is always a treat, though I think SF2 is best due to how simple the game is, so the player’s skill is fleshed out more in a spectators eye

Well I… I think that…

Nah fuck it. You gettin flagged nigga.

@NickRocks

All console FPS’s suck

FPS is one of the worst genres of videogames ever created

I’ve tried to play Far Cry 3 because it is free on PS+ and because of the story and characters, but good god, playing on first person sucks so much that makes the game unbearable to me.

Tomb Raider (the new one) has a lot of similarities with FC3, but the fact that you can actually see what’s going on around you and you can climb ladders without feeling sick makes the game 3x better.

Also, Dragon’s Crown is amazing!

The best thing to come out of 3d Sonic games are 06’s high speed sections. I had more fun with those then the entirety of SA1 or 2. They’re bad in the best possible way, it’s just a shame that getting to them and/or gaming over on them is awful.

Planescape Torment doesn’t get enough shit for its gameplay. Yes, I know it’s all about the story and you can avoid most combat, but that doesn’t excuse abominable pathfinding, enemies with very little non-aesthetic variety, and lvl3+ spells freezing the combat to make you watch some bullshit for far too long (Which is even more annoying when an enemy decides he doesn’t want to stand still during it and kills somebody when you can’t do shit about it). BG1 had its problems with combat too, and killing the same groups of mooks got tedious, but I never outright detested dealing that aspect of the game like I did with Planescape.

Quest of Ki for the NES is the shit, more people need to be aware of its existence. It’s far better designed in terms of gameplay, level design and difficulty than the vast majority of NES games… except for the presence of backwards warps in the latter part of the game.

TvC is ass. Giants are waiting in hell for the eternally damned among FG players.

Third Strike is one of the best SFs, but that’s partially because most of them don’t hold up anymore and a lot of them are crap. PS it’s far better competitively than Garou.

Gunstar Heroes is the best game ever.

Over everything.

EVERYTHING
(ok i just wanted an excuse to bring up gunstar)
