I hate hard difficulty settings that just take away gameplay elements, it’s just such a lazy way of doing it. Mostly talking about Zero 4’s hard mode which you can’t even obtain EX skills in iirc. Hard mode should be more challenging without neutering the gameplay imo. If I wanted to do a challenge run where I limit myself, I’d do it manually.
Uhh, Castlevania? Mega Man? Konami’s TMNT beat-em-ups? Capcom’s NES Disney games?
There’s a long list of great VG soundtracks that I’d give props to, and OG Sonic games are on that list, but as SERIES, it ain’t got shit on CV and MM.
Never played Castlevania. One day soon. As for MM, X1’s ost is top 10 potential. Everything else Sonic games on Genesis alone beat. My rushed top 10 OSTs
First part, yes. 2nd part…forgets about Streets of Rage, Shinobi III, Shining Force (most notably, 2) being very much up to par with Sonic. Despite the hyperbole, I’m mostly inclined to agree with you.
Edit:
Top 10 OSTs
Street Fighter EX+Alpha
Streets of Rage 2
Parasite Eve
Symphony of the Night
Legend of Dragoon
Snake Eater
3rd Strike (duh)
Sonic 3
Virtua Fighter 3: TB
Xenogears
Sonic 1 through 3k - Genesis
Street Fighter - classic, mixes of classic (ST,A1,A2,VS games, ect) except SFIV mixes
Streets of Rage 1,2
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 1, Zero
Mass Effect 1
Secret of Mana
Ducktales
Tekken (usually on point with about 75%)
Castlevania
Megaman (various)
Any top Vidja BGM that doesn’t have Daytona USA music on it is incomplete and most likely gay.
Again, to quote O. Zoolander “The sky is blue, the grass is green, Roses are red, Carlton Banks might be gay”.
Nobody was disputing that claim, ever. It’s universally recognized that MC2 kicks the shit out of all the other Midnight Clubs.
However, people were disputing whether or not MC2 had the best soundtrack in the series. Unfortunately, a lot of people on this site have taste cancer, and a result they like Midnight Club 3’s shitty soundtrack.
Can somebody tell me why Marilyn Manson, Fallout Boy, and MCR are on the soundtrack of a racing game? That’s worse than Burnout’s wack ass soundtrack. At least Cash Money artists are there to balance things out.
One thing people will disagree with me on the subject of MC2 is the methods Angel Studios used to make the game difficult. I commend MC2 for amazing level design; I don’t like how they use bullshit things in the game to throw off the player. Traffic that randomly generates only a kilometer away from the player, cars that will erratically make a sharp turn (which is a 50/50 encounter). I can take the fact that the Veloci has a hard time plowing into small cars, and I can forgive unbreakable objects placed on the sidewalk, but random shit is inexcusable.
Wow. VF3 has a better soundtrack than VF2. Now I’ve seen it all…
Might as well put my top 10 ost (no particular order)
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Virtua Fighter 2
Tekken 2
Tekken Tag Tournament
Shenmue 1
Street Fighter 2
Sonic CD
Crash Team Racing
Spyro 3
SF 3rd Strike
VF3 does have an amazing soundtrack and those two are my personal favorites along with Taka and Lau, but VF2 beats these cleanly. VF2’s soundtrack is possibly the most memorable soundtrack in the series. Akira’s theme is too epic to be surpassed. It should be Virtua Fighter’s anthem. It might even be to some people.
