Dude you can’t even access those NG Hurricane Packs anymore. If your Xbox HDD dies you’re fucked and can never get access to them again.
DLC is bad. What would once ship with the game, is now purposely cut out to nickel and dime consumers later. They usually charge you for 100KB unlock codes too, as in you’re paying for content on the disc you just bought. Keep in mind ALL DLC is planned pre-release too, so none of it is “good” DLC.
Platinum Games isn’t enough for me to purchase a Wii U. I don’t doubt that Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 will be great games but I don’t want to be stuck with a paperweight once I had my fill on those games. That’s what ended up happening to me with the Wii. I’m not a fan of most of Nintendo’s games and third party support for the Wii U is low.
Speaking of wrestling, those N64 wrestling games from Aki are some of the most overrated games of all fucking time. That team went on to do legit great things but their WWE stuff was NOT that (Vendetta and Fight for New York were their classics, btw)
Perhaps by supporting them Nintendo will continue to fund their projects growing the library, and then the install base then the thing will seem viable to other 3rd parties.
The causal gamer crippled the gaming industry by wanting to feel too accomplished so they made them easier and coated it with achievements for wiping your ass.
In turn, its sad to see game developers cater to all gamers. Forcing them to bring back characters, change endings, bringing dead franchises back that don’t make them any money, even going as far as death threats.
Even though I rag on Capcom, I like most of their games. Played DMC3 not too long ago for the first time and it was freaking awesome. Working my way to the reboot skeptically now
PS2 was/is the greatest console. Check the library.
Sonic Adventure 2 has the best OST of all time. Second is Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.
Army of Two was actually decent
Motion gaming isn’t complete horseshit
And non-unpopular gaming opinion. I would bang Tina Fey over Brooklyn Decker.
The Lost and the Damned/Ballad of Gay Tony come to mind immediately. Honestly those releases should be the blueprint for how DLC is handled. GTA4 was a complete(ly average) game and the two expansions were started/finished after the game went gold, and priced fairly. Gave you a fuck of a lot more than DLC usually gives you.
But typically R* is always gonna give you more than other companies…
360 pad has got to be the 2nd worst pad to come out in the last 15 years. The 1st is the OG Xbox pad.
Why the FUCK do I need triggers? I RARELY play FPS games and they just get in the way in everything else.
The size is awful. I have massive hands so it’s not a hand issue. It’s the ugly ass shape issue.
The breakaway cable has caused many cables to be lost.
Dpad IS TRASH.
You can’t even connect the wireless ones to a PC without paying extra for some shitty receiver it but why even do that?
And did I mention how fucking ugly it is?
Dues EX is about as much of an RPG as Arkham City is. Having side missions and choices DOES NOT MAKE AN RPG. Now if you say that AC is a RPG, we know not to take this issue any further.
Certain games don’t fit into the genres you think they do. Game genres=based on the core GAMEPLAY mechanics of each game.
Deus EX=FPS at its core with RPG and stealth elements.
Mass Effect 2/3=Third-Person Shooter with light RPG elements and a dialog wheel. Only modern gaming faggots call that shit an RPG.
Fallout 3/NV=FPS gameplay with RPG elements. Fallout 1 and 2? As RPG as it gets. They have turn-based gameplay too IIRC.
Borderlands=FPS with extremely light RPG elements and a “skill tree” that has next to zero depth.
Again, keep in mind, I’m talking about the core gameplay mechanics of each game, as in what you’ll be doing when it comes to the actual combat. I’m not talking about the borrowed elements from other genres.
Golden Eye was weak back then and now, as far as multiplayer went. Split-screen VS wasn’t cool then, and irrelevent now. Single player was coo’ but Perfect Dark was done better. Frame rate killed it, which was unfortunate.
PS3 is looking good right now, but I’d give 360 “teh winz” if you’re going for console war stuff. Online VF5, VO:OT, Treasure updating their games for HD, Bangaio HD: Missle Fury, SNK fighters (the online play sucks, but I got their library on a console), Cave Shmups put the system in the tops.
I didn’t mind paying for XBLA when I had it, because it was the only system with the games I liked that couldn’t be played online anywhere else. The interface was (still is I imagine) top notch.
It has VF5:Final Showdown, but Sega burned Sony on VF5 back in '06-'07. That and my brother giving me his 360 that was about to break on him (ended up lasting me another 2 years). I think I read that Sony rushed Sega for VF5 on the system, which resulted in the PS3 getting the inferior ver.B and no online.
PS3 is looking good right now though, but MS really killed it when it mattered. Sony is stepping it up though, it’s just that’s it’s near the end of current-gen. They are going out with a bang though. Being able to get the whole Model 2 collection (by setting up a foreing account) is a plus.
Yea but you can play Deus Ex without doing any of the shotty shooty stuff, negating it from being so easily shoehorned into that catagory. It’s an RPG because the choices you make matter. The things you do, the way you play the game effects the world around you. You can be all bangy bangy shooty shooty super spy, or you can sneak through like Solid Snake and never fire a single bullet. You can kill people who would have been bosses later in the game, or even negate the need for a combative confrontation entirely. The Role Playing is the core mechanic of Deus Ex because everything you do paints the world around you and how it perceives you.
Honestly one of the most important decisions in the game is if your gonna use a gun or not, and that’s a role playing decision and it paints the entire experience from that point on.
I might be more agreeable to the new Deus Ex, Human Revolution being an action game with RPG elements, but the first one? No way. RPG.
