Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

@highlulu

Yes. Yes sir.

Speaking of which, I assume you’ve heard that 40% of all gamers are women? That can’t possibly be true unless they are counting people who play FarmVille and Candy Crush “gamers”.

Assassin’s Creed series is garbage, auto-platforming playing the game for me is not fun at all. There’s no thought required in what I’m doing, and it’s boring to me.

While modern Capcom is mostly shit, they still put out the occasional great game. Dead Rising series are a blast to play, and Dragon’s Dogma is a really solid ARPG.

Action RPG’s > turn-based and any other type of RPG genre. The gameplay is much more involving, much faster-paced, way more fun, and has a lot of options for you to go HAM.

Mass Effect series is ass, Fallout 3/NV are decent games at best(extremely slow pacing with very empty world’s. What’s the point of exploring them if it’s so boring to do so? Regardless, I still got some enjoyment out of FO3.)

Souls games are the best “JRPG’s” to come out of Japan this entire generation.

Most handheld games shit on your average “AAA” game.

Mindjack was a third-person shooter with average gameplay, but it had great multiplayer. “Invading” people idea was borrowed from the Souls games, and you could “hack” into peoples games. I ruined a lot of peoples single-player sessions hacking into their games, hacking into enemies to control them, and destroying the player trying to progress. This was so much fucking fun to me, it was a game designed for you to be an asshole(or a good guy if you joined the “good guys” team.)

I haven’t played TLOU yet, but I thought BioShock Infinite was the weakest game in the BioShock series. It was too modernized, and there’s way too much handholding going on. The feeling of survivor horror that I felt playing the first two games is gone, micro-managing my health and plasmids is gone, and the game feels more on rails than ever before(no pun intended.) I felt I could explore the most in BioShock 1, and it just became less and less with each game.

RDR I also thought was garbage, the pacing is horrible and game itself is just boring as fuck and not fun to play at all.

Bayonetta is one of the best character action games that exists, are you not a fan of the genre? What do you think of games like DMC and Ninja Gaiden? If you don’t like DMC/NG, then you’re not a fan of the genre at all, and I can understand why you’d shit on Bayo.

I like the Battlefield series, though I think the Bad Company games have some of the best mercenary ground combat out of all Battlefield games. Very satisfying gunplay.

@Highlulu Kingdom Hearts series is babies first action RPG.

NG:Black is the best action game of all time in my eyes. I don’t know if anything will ever come close to being as good as that game. DMC I dislike just because of Dante. I hate his character so much that I cannot stand to play the games. Dude never shuts up. Gameplay is fine but it feels shallow to me. Admittedly I haven’t played a lot of it.

Bayonetta just felt… and this is gonna sound gross but it felt loose. The control and ideas just felt all over the place and it was just somewhat off. Also same thing as DMC. Was not into the character or plot at all so it just wasn’t working for me.

I enjoy Ninja Gaiden 2 but I recognize its flaws.

EDIT: I also enjoyed God of War prior to 3.

Platinum games are super overrated.
Atlus sucks.

I’d play DMC and Bayo over GoW 1 and 2.

I wasn’t a fan of Bayonetta as a character, either. If I don’t enjoy the story/characters in a game I’m playing, I just skip the cutscenes. Star Ocean 4 became a 100000X better when I started skipping the stupid, stupid cutscenes that involved some of the worst characters I’ve ever seen in a game. Good, engaging gameplay is enough for me, I stopped caring about characters and stories in video games a long time ago, because most of the time they’re shit.

NG is a top tier action game series, I love it and hold it above all others, even though games like DMC and Bayo offer more gameplay options, they’re not as satisfying to play imo. NG series gives me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment very few other games do.

The last of us is an okay story, nothing game of the year worthy or even game of the season worthy.

The multiplayer is drab but playable, and the single player experience is boring and drags uneccesarily, and has really bad plot twists.

bayonetta is an overrated game, i take god of war over bayonetta any day

The Devil May Cry reboot wasn’t THAT bad it’s better than the last 3 GoW games i know that much.

Kingdom hearts 2 and CvS2 are still the best games ever made. ProveMeWrongFaggots.

Am I the only one that noticed this was a hell of a thread necro?

Lets hope for your sake we never meet in person…

What are you gonna do? Yell at me really loudly in public to insinuate how right you are? You implying you would kick my ass is hilarious. Especially considering I’m pretty confident i’d fuck some random cum stain up something crucial. Stay in your place little ass nigga.

MK9 and injustice aren’t even as good as PSASBR and I never played PSASBR. Put out shit, patch it with shit, and get all the accolades for FG of the year, what? Face it, without the gore in the original MK there wouldn’t have been a sequel to that sack a shit. And on top of that people still want a SF/MK crossover, HA! Except for UMK3, all the other MKs can’t even match the SFEX seires. We had the most anticipated crossover fighting game with CvS. MK franchise isn’t in the same league.

The real reason that MK9 and Injustice are bad is because they run on the MK Deadly Alliance engine. Shit+Shit=Shit

I liked the DMC reboot. I’m still trying to figure out why people hate it so much. It looks and plays just like a DMC game. I get that the combat’s not quite as advanced as DMC3, but even with that said, it’s still a fun game.

I also think Lords Of Shadow was the best thing to happen to the Castlevania series since Dracula X Chronicles. Game’s badass and I’m about to get a 110% perfect game save on that shizz.

Also KoFXIII>SF4

While I agree with the rest of your post, MK2 would like a word.

The general gaming public has it very, very wrong if they’re fine with an “all Nintendo and nothing else” or “Nintendo plus various tablets that have no physical buttons, and a 10000000 shit games for each 1 decent title” future for portable gaming. If this were not Bizarro world, even a halfway decent Sony or other portable should be shitting all over Nintendo’s shit.

Really, just think about in regular console terms… imagine if you were in an alternate universe where the original Playstation came out as normal in 1995 here…then N64 came out… and (unlike reality) everyone went on and on about how superior the N64 was, resulting in “PSX” selling in pitiful numbers like 30k in a month…leading to its eventual death. This Twilight Zone bullshit continues to be the most surreal shit I’ve ever seen in the industry. Or, imagine an alternate universe where the NES was getting absolutely destroyed sales-wise by the goddamn Sega Master System and Atari 7800…imagine SMS and Atari going on to sell millions of consoles while 1980s-era Nintendo struggles. That’s how strange and absurd this is to me. It’s disgusting.

I’ve always thought the Resident Evil games were Sci-Fi/Action games with a hint of horror and I’ve never found any of them to be scary. So I didn’t mind finally being able to roundhouse zombies in the face playing RE6.

I hate 1-frame links. It’s like the game is saying, “You like this character?! Well I hope you’re happy with the combo counter not moving past 2 hits! You also won’t be able to use him, or her, or her, or him…”

Split/Second is the best racing game to have come out in years.

GTAIV was awful, and the arrival of V isn’t remotely exciting.

Playstation controllers suck. I didn’t like the DualShock, and I’m not looking forward to getting used to the PS4 controller.

Console exclusive titles are completely underwhelming. They were exciting. Few years ago.

“Story-driven”, minimal gameplay video games are shit. Walking Dead winning GOTY awards was a travesty.

Gaming has gotten progressively better with each successive generation.

Unpopular or not, this is a bad opinion.

  • I feel that the low quality of Capcom’s games this console generation is largely exaggerated. Dark Void and Bionic Commando were the only ones that flat out sucked.

  • Wind Waker is the best Zelda game. If only it’s the only one that gave Link any real character. While I love Wind Waker, I find the Zelda series in general boring

  • Elder Scrolls games are not fun unless you mod the shit out of them

  • Other then innovating cel-shading I fail to see what was so great about Jet Set Radio. It was average at best.

  • Samurai Shodown > KOF

  • Alpha Protocol would have been a huge franchise if it wasn’t plagued with so many bugs.

legend of dragoon sucked

AP had sooo much potential…sigh
