Unpopular gaming opinions SECOND IMPACT

Then were on the same page and that’s cool, and while it isn’t as worse as it was back then but it’s still here, the FG community in America really needs to do away with this moronic animosity towards other fighting games

Well of course, Capcom’s main focus with SFIV was to bring in those “Oh I remember Street Fighter” people… I doubt it would matter to them if the people that bought it ended up playing the game seriously or not, for the folks that don’t understand Capcom is a company and priority #1 of a company is to do what it takes to make money, whether it’d be shortcuts, Revenge Meter/Ultra’s, a shitty animu movie (with awful awful animation) packaged with the game, mediocre costumes that cost more than they should, a portable iphone version, etc. I mean I’ll admit I enjoyed SFIV (and I’ll probably enjoy SSFIV as well) it’s just that I can only see it getting worse which each iteration to further peddle to there casual fanbase (which is no better than Nintendo with the Wii)… this shit isn’t going to change, there’s gonna be more ridiculous gimmicks, more unnecessary game mechanics, more silly ultra’s, more stupid nerfs, and when Street Fighter gets old and tired they’ll revive a long dead franchise and more or less apply the same formula to it (Darkstalkers SFIV style anyone?), Capcom is gonna this mother fucker til the wheel’s fall off because it’s making them a boat load of money, SFIV is the epitome of give the fans what they want and when I say fans I mean the one’s I was referring to in my first sentence

tl;dr I don’t hate SFIV, I hate what it stands for

Dragon Quest is good and 7 > 8.

I’m sorry that’s just a fucking lie I can’t front. PS2 library (besides SNES) shits on any console in history let alone GC.

Besides SSBM of course but let’s not get into that right now :bgrin:

yes i know that, my point stands regardless of that.

not for me it doesnt. Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime alone are reasons for me to think this. Those games trump anything on any other console during that gen. Replaying them was rewarding enough.

I’ll let Eeternal Darkness slide but I hated Metroid Prime.

Anyways:

Okami
Shadow of the Colossus
Kingdom Hearts
Devil May Cry 1-3
FFX
Midnight Club
God of War 1 and 2
Shinobi
Gran Turismo
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3
Ratchet and Clank
Jak and Daxter
Ico
Onimusha
The Bouncer
The Getaway
Bully
GTA3- SA
Chaos Legion
Valkyrie Profile 2
Dark Cloud

and a whole lot more>> only SA2: Battle, Paper Mario, and Eternal Darkness. Can’t count RE4, Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe though. But GC was better than N64 though. PS2, SNES, and Dreamcast are the top 3 ever
Even Melee’s hype couldn’t save the GC but I keep having FC Diamond, and MLG dreams

thats cause your a fanboy.

only reason to own a GC is F-Zero GX, the best goddamn game in the fucking world. word to your mothers.

That game raped my soul. :wasted: I think I made it past the first two missions in story mode and that was fuckin’ it for me, man.

I can’t believe I didn’t mention this yet:

The single greatest tragedy for videogames of this age was the loss of Duke Nukem Forever.

Fuck all of you. Duke Nukem is the single greatest character in existence. Fuck King Lear, fuck Citizen Kane, fuck Chuck Norris. I wouldn’t have cared if that game took another fifteen years to make, it would have been worth it. Its not coming out and we’ve never been so unlucky.

Seriously, this really made me sad. I was hyped for the game after a recent trailer, and I just really wanted a current gen Duke game that followed up on 3D a little too much.

Which brings me to…Duke Nukem 3D was the best damn FPS I’ve played. All these new games have better online and better graphics, but none of them come close as far as weapon selection and level design in concerned in my opinion.

Marathon Infinity made by Bungie has the best levels out of any FPS ever. The level design was way ahead of its time, FPS levels most of the time take no thought at all. All you have to do is go to point A. to point B. with no real thinking. Many FPS today are still the same, kill a bunch of guys and beat the level. Though most of the people who worked for Bungie during the marathon series are gone now since they wanted nothing to do with microsoft

Exactly. Duke Nukem 3D never stopped amazing. The weapons got crazies, the levels got more intense (I remember blowing up space ships, causing earthquakes, and shitting down an alien’s neck), and it just didn’t stop. Today’s games don’t seem to have that edge anymore.

You deserve a medal for this. Anyone who thinks SoTN is better than SCVIV either hasn’t played Castlevania 4 or is an RPG nerd. FACT!
Not to say that SoTN isn’t a great game, but… >_>

OT: Hyper Fighting owns ST.

  • Final Fantasy XII is one of the best games on PS2
  • Okami>The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
  • Super Mario Sunshine>Super Mario 64
  • Out of the whole Castlevania series “Bloodlines” remains my favorite
  • Metal Gear Solid is the best movie ever, damn that Kojima sure can tell a story, also gotta love the constant female ass shots in MGS4
  • The only good that came out of RE5 was that delicious Sheva Alomar, besides that it was just a frankenstein’d RE4 and a pretty bad one at that
  • Sonic Riders (the first one) was a great game
  • Phantasy Star Online is still the best MMO out there

og castlevania , super c4, bloodlines, rondo of blood, chronicles, CV adventure remake, Belmont’s revenge, and Castlevania 64/LOD were all better than SOTN.

Bloodlines is seriously the best Castlevania game ever, that game was fucking good.

The fact that you put GG with Great Game almost disqualifies this post entirely.

^

Spear guy often felt like CV Easymode though

This is only unpopular to say among aficionados of the genre, but fuck it.
Fallout 3 is one of the best Western role-playing games ever.
