Chrono Cross is like the essays I used to write for this one really dumb English teacher who I knew was looking for word count over content. I would rewrite the same sentence seven times and call it a paragraph, make a whole essay like that, and get easy As. Fluff for the mother-effin lose.
Yeah, Kuja blew up some dead planet that apparently reincarnated as a “memory dungeon” or some other nonsense FF9 passes off as storytelling. Then he kills the party in order to send them to fight Necron which despite supposedly being more powerful than Kuja loses to the party.

FFIX is the best Final Fantasy. Best characters, world, humor, writing, the dialog is awesome and I even liked it’s slow pace. Combat system is pretty cool too, I always liked systems where weapons/equipment give you abilities. Plot isn’t all that, but then again it doesn’t try to be.
It is one (of the few) j/RPGs that I’ve throughoutly enjoyed!

Wait what? The art and remixed music is a mixed bag definitely (vegas theme is AWESOME). Akuma looks like a fucking gremlin true and cammy looks like a zombie. But wtf are you talking about in the 2nd paragraph about his status? Whats wrong with the character select music and what “balrog shit”
I played it for the first time a week ago. It looks nice and it’s obviously the updated look we were expecting when it was announced, but it was also a little underwhelming. The background animations reminded me of a flash game at times.
Then again, how important is the background in a highly competitive fighting game?
Despite its flaws (and there are many, sadly) Fable 2 is still far more enjoyable to me than any turn-based turd that pretends to be a “game”.
This era of gaming continues to own the shit out of both the 8bit and 16 bit eras. It’s not really fair to compare the modern age to the old days anyway though…
*kinda on-topic I guess…it’s REALLY annoying to me how Nintendo just won’t get with the times on certain issues, like online gaming infrastructure and HD, basically. I guess in fairness…HD still wasn’t such a big deal to most people at the start of this generation of consoles though, so perhaps that makes sense they didn’t care about it. Still, more and more people are upgrading their TVs since the prices are dropping to something nice and affordable for the average person, so if they don’t get on the same page with the competition on the next generation of consoles, that would be incredibly stupid.

As for Amano, he’s alright. His style is very fine art and he’s excellent at detail, but the fact that he also makes all his characters’ faces look the same (you KNOW he does), changes damn near everyone to a blonde (lol Garnet in FFIX) and always adds scarves and beads instead of Nomura’s zippers and belts (which is why Tidus has a fucked up outfit in Dissidia, because Nomura based his art for that off Amano’s drawings) makes me think there’s some bias here.
Ya know what I just noticed (after looking through a couple threads here on SRK.) No one seems to like Assassin’s Creed but me, I personally think that game was fuckin’ awesome.

Like i said when the IDEA of HD Remix was being done, they should have just made a “new” game instead of trying to replace a classic. Nothing was wrong with the original character designs, music or fighting. AS you can see, even with their stupid changes (like the ShoRyuFlashKick) tiers are the same, except Zang and Hawk.
Change a shitty game like 3S, it had mostly shitty music, and bad characters from the start. Or something that cant be played like SVC Chaos, you cant make that game any worse. But among the music and alot of the animations, they managed to make a worse game than the original.
Most of these people just want to play it, because they somehow feel its a “new” experience. Bah.
Thats because it is a new experience, and I play ST. The idea wasn’t to change the tier list but to make the spread smaller (Sagat not being mind numbingly simple and Hawk not losing like a bitch) as well as make it more accessible and so on and so forth. A whole helkl of a lot has changed man. As for the music yeah its a mixed bag but you can always turn the classic sound track back on, which is a pretty mixed bag in its own right.
Bioshock sucked. It was Doom 3 with powers and obnoxious voice acting. Plus instead of becoming more challenging, dudes just took more damage to kill. Lame.
Atmosphere doesn’t hold a candle to good gameplay.
FFX-2 had the best battle system out of any Final Fantasy.
FFIX would be if the ATB wasn’t so glitchy. I.E. Random slow downs, trancing after everything is dead. Faster characters attacking last for no real reason. Stuff like that.
and FFIX was the best Final Fantasy in general. II(IV) and V are very, very close.
FFVIII would have been better than VII if they hadn’t of introduced Ultimecia. She was a fucking stupid and joke of a villain. If they would have just stuck with Edea turning all psycho PMS bitch and Siefer being her bitch, the game would have been close to perfect.
-The weapon creation system was very well done and very frustrating at times.
-The limit system was well done and each character had one that fitted their personality.
-You go to know each character personally through out the game instead of like most RPG’s it was introduction, instance giving back story, instance closing lose ends on back story instance.
-GF system was a very well done revamp of III(VI)'s Esper system. You could so much with it.
-All the new spells they added like Aura, Pain and Meltdown were unique and very good. I just loved how you got magic in the game in general honestly.
-Who can forget, the fucking card game. I know everyone would play that shit for HOURS. Don’t lie.
Also, FFIII was fucking terrible. The job system was fucking terrible. Everything about it was terrible.

If not the best, then definitely one of the best. It’s funny how many people hate on this game when it’s really one of the most fun FF games in the series.
Yes, the story was weak, but everything else was fun.
Most people I know or who have talked to who hated on the game had never played it.
It’s one of those “I’m a wanna be RPG elitest douche” things because FFX-2 is a sequel in a game series that doesn’t have any sequels. It’d be like if they made Star Ocean: Second Story - Third Attempt or some shit like that.
But yeah, the story is trash. But the game play, battle system and dialog is worth playing it.
