You only need to play the original Brave Fencer Musashi for PS1. And you do NEED to play to it.
–Another realization…despite the fact that I pride myself on supporting the industry by actually PAYING for my games, I have to admit that without emulation, I wouldn’t have been able to play a good bit of the games I now love.
Thank GOD for emulation.
I’m sorry but I’m not going to stand for this.
And I actually LIKE Vandal Hearts, but FFT is legendary.
What exactly does Vandal Hearts have over FFT besides greater challenge (which is nulled when you get Vandalier Ash…THE single most broken RPG character of all-time who makes Cidolfas Orlandu look like Magikarp)
Agreed. Japanese exclusives, older console releases, and really hard to find games. Emulation is a godsend for these. I always support the current game market, however.
Ok, ok, FFT is better, but I had to deal with too many fanboys when that game came out. And Vandal Hearts helped me get over a serious health recovery back in the day, so…
***PROTIP: ***Don’t get Vandalier Ash, keeps the game fun.
Xenogears is quite possibly the best rpg that I’ve played. Religion, drugs, politics, are a few conflicts that made this game so good story wise. Character development is decent, battle system is solid, the graphics at the time were great. It had more depth to it then any rpg that I’ve played. Xenosaga on the other hand, that was the exact opposite. It was almost like how the star wars episode 1-3 were. Just crap compared to the original.
I thought I was the only one who ever thought this. Actually, I’m just going to go ahead and say Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite Final Fantasy and one of the my favorite RPGs ever.
FF10, FF7, FF8, FF12 are all better games than old school FFs.
FF9 is a piece of shit. The reason it’s rarely talked about compared to other FFs is because it’s a piece of shit. The worst FF ever made.
Dreamcast was a horrible system, with shitty gimmicky games. It’s only saving grace was fighting games. Thank god it’s dead and Sega is never making another console.
^FF9 wasn’t shit. They basically combined all the old FF’s with the new one’s - how can you go wrong with that? I didn’t like Tetra Master, but everything else was great to me.
Even though they are not my favorite game developers, I still believe that Konami is one of, if not THE greatest video game company to ever grace the earth.
I really liked ‘The Bouncer’.
I am in love with ‘Killer 7’, and have played it many times since its release.
Square-Enix needs to stop making Final Fantrasy games; this comment should not be confused with anti-Square-Enix propoganda, as some of their titles are my favorite games of all time. I’m a little curious as to how well they would do with Final Fantasy put to rest.
Now, I may get verbally attacked for this next one, but I believe that the ‘Suikoden’ series is substantially better than the ‘Final Fantasy’ series; this is not a matter of fact, but amatter of opinion. While I do believe that some of the Final Fantasy titles or fantastic, I still can’t let them overshadow the greatness of Suikoden.
I’m not sure where the populous of RPG fans stands on this, as I never really heard much about it, but I LOVE ‘Radiata Stories’, and believe it to be one of the best titles to come from Square Enix in YEARS.
Except the speed. Damn that game was slow as fuck when it comes to battles. Otherwise it would be one of the best IMO.
I’m sorry, but FFIV >>>>>>>>FFVI. While VI may have had more interesting characters and more memoriable scenes than IV, IV had a much stronger overall plot and was more challenging overall.
I would love to see a next gen Parasite Eve. That shit that S-E pulled for the cell phones was a slap in the face to fans. Assholes.
Yeah, no. Spawn: The Demon’s Hand was actually good and it was definitely one of the better 4-player games for the DC. I know this because I actually played the game. That game was hella fun and Midevil Spawn was just insanely broken. That sword killed in ONE FUCKING HIT!!! Still a great game. I miss that game, actually.
I don’t really care much for the MGS series. I liked MGS and liked MSG2 (although not as much), but I couldn’t stand more than 10 minutes of MGS3. 4 seems uninteresting to me.
