I am disappointed at the lack of [S]Minette[/S]Lunch and Juju in the poll options.

Ladies and gentlemen!
Action!
Headshot
Juju wins!

You don’t remember where, but you’e 110% sure? Makes sense.

Also, Squigly and Umbrella were never really “supposed” to be in the main game. When it was revealed that they wouldn’t be in at launch, everyone was complaining that they got ‘cut’ from the game and Mike and Ravidrath made numerous posts in the forums and on front page comments that Squigly and Umbrella were never ‘cut’ because they were never planned to be in the initial launch in the first place.

I will agree that they *likelihood *of them being the first two may be high. They are high profile characters, have lots of concept art/images floating around, are fairly well known, and seem to be heavily tied to the story. They may even have basic animations and mechanics in the game done.

But please stop ‘confirming’ things when you cannot provide any evidence to support your claims, especially when you “don’t remember where”, and especially when you don’t work for the company. Your feelings that Squigly and Umbrella should/will be the first DLC characters are just that: feelings. “Highly likely” and “confirmed” are two vastly different things, just like 90% and 100% are different. People posting their educated guesses as fact is one of the main reasons misinformation is spread so easily.

Brain drain. anti-skullgirls director. parasoul’s mama… that is all

I listened to the first five seconds while looking at the picture. then laughed horridly.

This is wrong. The roster has been locked in since they were signed. Squiggly and Umbrella never got past concept because they weren’t budgeted. They could only afford to make 8 and they wanted bosses. It’s not like they half made them and then gave up.

Did you even read the article I posted? I will just quote Peter for you here since you can’t be bothered to click on links:

We never announced Squigly or Umbrella or said we’d have every character people expected. Nothing was “cut” – they were never planned to be in the initial launch in the first place.

So, again, please stop saying they were “supposed” to be in the game. A person that works for the company and whose duties include relaying information to the community specifically said the exact opposite of what you are claiming. So, unless Peter lied or misspoke, you are objectively wrong on this account.

Guess who didn’t have a lot of art compared to others but made it in the game? Valentine. Guess who had almost NO art compared to others and made it in the game? Double. These characters were put in for a specific reason: the team wanted bosses. Who is to say the same thing won’t happen again? Maybe they will decide to listen to fan requests and put a fan favorite in. Maybe they will want one of the first two DLCs to be a male character to shut up complaints about the roster. Maybe Alex or Mike will come up with an idea so awesome they want to do it before any other. You just don’t know.

Yes, technically they are in the game. I know that. I never said they weren’t. That’s not what the argument is about. The argument is that you are running around claiming things are ‘confirmed’ when you have no proof. I’m not saying they *won’t *be the first DLCs and I’m not saying I *don’t want them in the game; I do, I really, really *wanted to play as Squigly since the first time I saw her. I would actually love it if you were right. The problem is you are stating your thoughts and opinions as fact without any support to back you. If you’re right then congrats, you’re educated guess was right. But as I said before, ‘educated guess’ and ‘confirmed’ are two vastly different things.

I follow the GD thread and this is like the third or fourth time you’ve done this. In fact, this post itself is littered with examples of what I’m talking about.

Already commented on, see above.

Already addressed this issue as well, see above.

Actually what he said was that he was having trouble implementing the mechanics of Squigly. Meaning that there was something inherent in her mechanics that was not working or messing with other areas of the game. That’s much more than simply “didn’t have time to finish her”. Giving a character two stances with moves for each stance and the ability to switch between stances would be comparatively easier to some of the other things they’ve done in this game. Switching stances doesn’t really affect other characters. A simple stance switch shouldn’t be breaking the game unless there was something inherently crazy/unique about it. Anyway, my point is, it’s more than just “they didn’t have time to finish her”. But since you can easily lump fighting style/stances etc. under the “unique mechanics” banner I will go ahead and give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and only count half of it against you.

Just wanted to point out that you go from saying “first 2” to “batch”. So which is it? Are you switching your opinion now? How do you define batch? If you really do mean batch, then I am inclined to agree with you. If you are just using them interchangeably, as I expect you are since you’ve been more adamant about them being the “first 2” (so please correct me if I’m wrong) then this is a good example of my point. You can’t just throw around any words you want. Words mean things. “First 2” and “batch” have completely, COMPLETELY different meanings. You can’t just use them interchangeably

Firstly, yes, they have a few frames of animation. So? this doesn’t mean anything. It was one attack where they were hardly moving. You think Reverge is going to say “Whew, we got Squigly and Umbrella half done now because we drew them in this one attack!” No. Animating the characters movement and attacks will still take just as long and be just as much work as anything else. In my opinion, their cameo in that attack amounts to almost the same as being a background character.

Secondly, and more importantly, you must have missed the entire concept of Double. In that quote you seem to imply that Squigly and Umbrella will have their respective moves that we see once they are in the game when Double is almost entirely made up of moves that the other characters *don’t have *in their original movesets. So even if you’re right and Squigly and Umbrella are the first 2 DLC characters, you don’t know for sure that they will have these moves. Again, you are just stated your thoughts as fact.

Ugh, I really hate tl;dr and I hate to encourage people to not read, but since it seems that you didn’t even bother to read my last post I better do this to be sure my point gets across:

tl;dr - Whether you’re right or not about them being the first two DLCs doesn’t matter. Stop stating your opinions, educated guesses, and thoughts as fact.

Squigly is going to be pretty awesome, I’m hoping she has some Jam in there.

I’m hoping Marie will come before Squiggly and Umbrella, how can you have Skullgirls without the Skullgirl? Seems silly

This. People should learn that nothing is confirmed until we actually hear the exact words from the developer/publisher themselves.

Put Squigly/Umbrella/Marie in the poll, dammit! >_>

you cant edit the poll.

I didn’t put squiggly/umbrella in because they are confirmed, as of november .

Welp, Beowulf has my vote

Leduc’s the dude I wanna see. Macho Man second. ZUBAZ third.

…And Panzerfaust.
Freakin’ Tankfist!

Well I voted Le Duc just cuz hes more of “pretty boy” kinda concept which I like. But I’m kinda wondering if Black Dahlia’s chances are, since I think it’s her in Double’s lvl 3 but its a guess and nothing more lol.

ZUBAZ!

ZUUUUUUUBAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ!

Feng??

Please?

i want my Skullgirls version of Jam Kuradoberi/Makoto Nanaya :frowning:
