none its just 1 frame I believe, so its gonna start pretty much no matter what and prob beat out and eat up whatever else is going on unless its a physical hit that hits her on the 1st frame after the DHC.
Explain more. Why is she just able to fly through everything on the screen before the ice comes out when she DHCs out?
my team ironfist/storm/thor
here are some newer combo ideas for them that you can or wont use lol, give a look ( they are slowed down to help those who have trouble following fast marvel vids, i know i do)

Running storm/deadpool/sentinel – working out really really well except for the normal storm-point problem of damage. I -know- there’s an unblockable reset with deadpool’s quick work assist putting the 2 combos at over 1.1mil (fly loop into knockdown into unblockable reset into fly loop combo into deadpool DHC).
If someone knows how to cover all recovering options for the roll let me know. I’m currently trying to figure out the timing of the assist call but it’s really tight. I think the trick is to space storm back around 1.5 ground dashes, neutral jump, then air-dash forward if they roll backwards+S, or just S if they roll forwards – timing the deadpool assist to hit low at the same time as the overhead. Let me know
would a Storm/Strange work?
maybe, eye of avocado (agomatto whatever) can sort of work and i’ve seen it used for flight loops on longer combos, bolts is a decent sort of beam assist (which leaves them standing and it makes storm’s combos easier)
from a raw hail/ice storm, you can dhc into strange counter super then do impact/fof loops
i don’t know honestly, i don’t really play storm but you can always try
Hey Storm boards! Any insight into using Spencer/Storm/Skrull? Not sure what assists to use for Storm and Skrull, but my thought is to use Spence to get in and build meter and DHC into Storm for damage or to play runaway.
while I’m not too familiar with skrull or spencer, I would suggest using Whirlwind/Tenderizer as assists. Whirlwind as a generic beam assist for spencer and access to the Bionic Arm/Hailstorm crossover combination which is AMAZING for punishing assists(or anything really) and extending damage at the end of long combos.
Tenderizer hold your opponent in guardstun so you can go for high/low mixups with spencer/storm and both of them are amazing at it.
that’s a good team.
Point Storm seems fallacious. She is kind of dead weight, but things can be done to make her useable. I think Jwong has the best idea on things as far as her. Use her as a second between BFFs where the point has good hyper damage and meter build by themselves, and the anchor is a really good assist in general. You will be mostly relying on the anchor assist.
To that end, I am trying out Sentinel/Storm/Strange. With Sentinel’s fly combos, he can crank out fair damage that tends to build a pretty amount of meter. Instead of ending with Rocket Punch/Jazz Hands, I end with the THC and it really hurts. Bolts is there for a long time and like Xero said, if you buffer it with Spit first, you can make space with Whirlwind. Spit with Bolts can lead to either obnoxiously zoning, safely getting Drones out onto the field, or fly cancelling spit to approach with some boots. If they are smart, they will know they can duck Bolts, but since Sentinel just gained some safe double overheads, this tags people more often than normal. Bolts is also really good for command grab set ups, so characters are gonna be blasting off.
Once you get down to Storm/Strange, you can again obnoxiously zone or approach a little better, and you still have access to Hailstorm/SoV THC. I don’t know how many frames this is, or else I’d throw it out a lot more. Between Sentinel being a Happy Birthday machine with his armor moves and HSF THC/DHC with Hailstorm, assists are in a lot of danger. Also, Bolts AND Spit are pretty good at shutting assists up.
I lack an anti air though. However, Sentinel’s boots control the air pretty well, Storm is comfortable in the air and stuff a lot with Whirlwind, and SoV is always a constant threat.
Unfortunately, my Strange and Storm are still ass. Gotta learn what to do in the neutral with these two.
If anyone sees any really sucky weaknesses with my team, I’d like input on it.
Also, since Super Drones stay out as soon as they’re called in a hyper, and Hailstorm DHC is like really quick, how reliable/deadly is calling that out while the opponent is pressing unauthorized buttons?
Finding a cheap team for this woman is so hard. >___<
The only thing I’ve been able to do is make really fair vanilla teams with her like Spencer/Storm/Akuma and stuff like that. I want to make a team with her (obviously in the 2 spot), but everything I’m coming up with is just really regular. DHC is good and the TACs are okay, but the assists and the damage are just not there. Trying to see if I can at least go for guard break setups with Typhoon but everything seems really flimsy.
I’m wondering if the best Storm team really isn’t just MSS in this game. o_0;
Hmmm, I guess Vergil works, but he’s becoming the anchor for all of my teams. I guess I could try it or try like a keepaway team or something. -___-
P.S. - Warring Triad, HSF to Hail is a fantastic DHC because the Hail freezes the opponent in place for full drone damage and because you can use it as an interrupt, but I would only recommend using it if you know your opponents options; they may have their own DHCs that they can pop in response that can deal with yours (since your DHC is a full projectile DHC both ways) but overall it’s a super solid DHC option.
Anyone ever try Zero/Storm? Whirlwind corner carries like Rapido Surasshu, and Zero feeds Storms cravings for meter…
I used to play Storm/Zero in vanilla, Zero/Storm works very well together you’d just need to find the correct assist for your playstyle, these two characters can play it any way they want.
honestly is there anything storm can do better than magneto, aside from hailstorm assists? Im really curious
I think her movement is better than Magneto’s. While none of her aerial options really have the speed of Disruptor, I feel that she has more options to controlling air space than Magneto does also. Storm has almost instant punishes with Gaia hyper.
She clearly loses to him in the meter department and Magneto has ways of extending his damage past Storm’s. Their reset games are comparable, but I think since Magneto’s moves have a bit more hitstun, it’s easier for him to convert off of resets, especially aerial ones.
Storm definitely seems more control and utility oriented if you can somehow find a way to exploit that for your team.
Rocket Raccoon/Storm seems really viable… spacial control with hailstorm DHC sounds awesome to me
with UFGT less that 2 weeks away I’ve decided to Seriously step my storm game up. I’m currently in the process of mastering the infinite 100% of the time. that being said, does storm have any guardbreaks vs. incoming characters? In the guide they say M lightensphere -> Airdash -> Throw works, I haven’t been successful in landing it.
It’s would also be helpful if anybody has information on advanced blockstrings and tactics.
I currently use these:
cr.L, cr.L, St.M, M Whirlwind
cr.L, St.M(Opponent advancing guards), Jump Cancel, Forward AirDash, j.S
cr.L, St.M(Opponent advancing guards), Jump Cancel, Down-Forward AirDash, cr.L
cr.L, cr.L, cr.H(or Standing M), Float Cancel, j.S
j.S, st.M
Notice How they all lead back into each other. you can also mix ground throws in there somewhere, which leads to it’s own shenanigans.
I just wanted to add that those are her GROUNDED blockstrings. airborne-to-ground ones are more finicky, I’m still trying to find the best ones.
I really wish Storm could tridash in with j.L and confirm into a c.L from it. Ugh.
I have been experimenting with the Lightning Sphere (such a good move) guard break, but haven’t had much success with my timing.
As for blockstrings, I like to actually JC c.:h: with FC j.:h:. If it hits, it gives a nice beefy combo starter that will net you close to max damage and if it’s blocked, you get enough stun to go into whatever you want for safety. j.:s: seems to be too easy to see either because of the startup or because of the flash of lightning, so I don’t use it unless I’m punishing or I spot a deep tridash opening. Since people tend to crouch block Storm low most of the time (because HER INSTANT OVERHEAD GAME IS SO BALLS), I don’t get very many opportunities to ADD c.:l: out of a JC, but I will use that if I notice people respecting the tridash too much.
Trying to experiment with uses for close range fly and j., but they’re both so awkward. D:
Hey guys, call my unoriginal but I am a huge fan of both storm and sentinel in this game, I was wondering what some other good point characters are for this team besides Magneto.
