I guess this pcb has been abandoned and replaced by the cthulhu. Sucks because I bought 3 of these =/
I would just like to know if This PIC programmer is what I need to setup the PIC I bought for this thing.

Sure, cthulhu is great, but UPCB, too. I use them for myself when Im making a multiconsole stick. And for me there is no reason for complaining about dc support. Using a hacked dc pad ensures that you
ve access to a VMU memory card. I wouldn’t go without a VMU.
Did somebody sell UPCBs without the pre-programmed bootloader on the PIC? If that the case, this is really sad…
at the time, only the bare board was available.
I’m giving away three assembled UPCBs, and unassembled UPCB board, and a PIC programmer. Anyone interested?
Giving away? Heck ya
I’m interested as well. I’m sorry to hear that you are abandoning your project. I’m particularly interested in the PIC programmer. Have you managed to get your assembled UPCBs working with the xbox360? The one that I put together still doesn’t work with the 360 PCB attached.
@Swamp: I’d be quite interested in one of the assembled boards. I’m getting into my first ground-up build, and this would be hella-helpful.
Links in the first post are broken.
No worries. I don’t have as much free time as I used to have, so I’m passing my equipment along. The X360 functionality was a bit iffy. I was never able to get the triggers to work [never knew how to alter them on a madcatz controller], and the PCB itself would work on certain occasions.
I have to note that one of the UPCBs does not work. For some reason, whenever I plugged it into a device, it was never recognized. Since it was soo long ago, I can’t say what is causing the issue [pic, board, etc.], nor can I decipher it from the other pcbs. I’m
Anyone use this with NES? About half the games I tried work fine, and the other half get random pauses.
Edit: Given their similarity, I should try using SNES mode with NES cables…
Also, was N64 support ever finished/tested? I can loan a console if need be.
V4 + upcb
Woohoo, I have finished my 4th joystick:
Assembling UPCB:

It works from first try. Toodles’ UPCB is amazing. With instructables and added information from UPCB thread (thanks guys!), it was like making soup from box.
Finished joystick with Playstation and USB button select cables:

Tested on ps2, pc and xbox.
Wiring is rat’s nest, so no inside pictures for now.
Thanks for the pics Dako, feels good to see this thread alive.
So DeepThoughts, have you figured out your Nes problem, i should test a nes cable in a couple of month.
Personally i’m about to finish my two box, i’ll show you in fex days.
No I haven’t figured it out; it’s strange because it depends on the game. For example, double dragon 2, ghouls/ghosts, and yoshi’s cookie give random pauses, while original mario and dr mario are fine. I have made two cables, and both give me the same issues. I have also tried the cables on multiple nes’s and multiple upcbs (without the piggyback 360 and dc pcbs). I even tried wiring the cables to put the upcb in snes mode, since snes controllers are generally compatible on the nes—that didn’t work at all.
So yeah, I’d really appreciate any feedback you or anyone else gets when using nes mode
noticed that the instructables page is out of date. I have 3 v2.1 boards I’m trying to assemble.
Does anyone know what C2 is? 0.1uf? F1 I assume is the same as it is in the original instructables parts list.
Is it even possible to implement Dreamcast support without a board revision? It would save me so much trouble. I understand that I could just get one of his other boards, just asking.
Anyone having problems with upcb arcade stick on super street fighter 4 arcade edition for pc ?? I cant map the directionals on the game

or send to my email kjying200011@gmail.com
Try holding Select while plugging it in (for POV only). I think that’s the right one - try holding Start if it’s not. This worked for SF4 anyway. How do you have AE already?
I am also looking for the source - per his signature, Toodles may be on holiday. If anyone has a copy of the source, please PM me - thank you!
desperate for the source code T_T
