Mr. Trite Im not sure if you can do lp ball, but with hp ball while the ball is traveling to the corner finish the motion for ultra, so charge back, forward + hp, back, forward + PPP. works everytime, same with command hop ultra, charge back, down forward + kkk, while hop is traveling finish the ultra motion with forward + ppp right when you land. Just go into training mode and get use to the timing for it, it isnt hard.
I really have troubles finding a way to land safely and effectively the ultra move. Does anyone have an idea of a combo that opens the way to it (I mean also a way to make 600 damage, not just 1 hit which is a waste)…
By the way I have noticed that blanka’s Ultra is very vulnerable : I launched it against an IA Ryu (I was close to him) and he stopped it while I was coming down with one single Light or Medium kick. I was very sad
I dont know if this has been posted before, but if you can catch a Ryu or Ken doing a regular hurricane kick, block standing up and you can hit them with a full ultra.
I use Bison and really, really, hate Blanka’s ultra. It seems that he can do it for free on wake up, and I eat tons, tons, of chip damage blocking it all. I know he does a little hop. I am wondering if he can be hit out of the hop, either on the way up, or way down. I really don’t know where Blanka hits as Viscant’s opening post was a bit confusing (he stated it took up 1/3 of the screen).
The ultra comes out on the 4th frame, so anything that’s -4 on block can be reversal punished by Blanka’s Ultra. It’s worth it to know what common attacks can be punished. If your opponent isn’t careful with his attacks when you have your charge/ultra, he should be getting hit every time.
found out this little tidbit last night. great tip for getting better with Blanka. you can hold the second part of the ultra with PPP. i got tired of one-hitting with the first part and whiffing on the second. it’s that much more dangerous being able to choose when to let the 2nd part go.
nope. Anything that is -4 on block does not garauntee an ultra. It depends on how much blockstun the move has. I was going to compose a list of all moves -4 on block because i thought it would be quick and easy, but its not. The first move I tested your advice on didnt work because of too much blockstun.
Rufus’s crouching HK does -6 on block and you can NOT ultra him after it. way too much stun even when timed on reversal. it’s not even close!
