Anyone else in the closed beta? The online multiplayer, to say the least, is freakin’ fun. I don’t care if the campaign turns out to be a big turd, the online makes this a day one purchase for me.
I’ve already played in a party with Killeykun and it was a blast. This beta already makes RE5 Versus look so antiquated in comparison.
I’ve been in the LBP, Home and Resistance 2 betas and Uncharted 2 is by far the best one yet.
No, but from reading about it on several forums now, I’m jealous as fuck. I really shoulda just bought infamous instead of trying to luck up on it from gamefly. I still haven’t gotten to play infamous AND im missing out on the uncharted 2 multi beta…
I’m also in this, and I concur; it’s an amazing experience. I really like that the co-op area isn’t just flat and that you actually do have to do some (team) traversal to get through it. For example, there is an area where one player has to give another player a boost, and then the boosted player will have to solo through a climbing segment and then push down a bookcase for the other players to climb up later, while the other players have to hold off a group of enemies trying to shoot down the climber (who can shoot back while climbing).
As for the combat experience, it’s almost like Left 4 Dead, but with competent AI enemies. All the enemies are just as good as you are in terms of mobility and armament (and maybe even durability), and they will actually use smart tactics against you. I remember I was fighting some dudes, and while I was hiding behind some cover, they had two guys flank me while another provided cover fire to pin me down. If not for the other people playing, I would have died right there.
The controls are really awkward for me but that’s probably because I’m not used to them. Also I don’t like how it takes several headshots just to kill someone. Other than that, I like it so far.

That sounds so cool. It sucks not being able to play the beta right now. I’m definitely buying Uncharted 2 first day.

I gotta learn how to throw that damn treasure in Plunder mode better. On the Plaza map, when I toss it up, it often hits the ceiling of the 2nd story and bounces back down. FAIL
It does. Whenever I actually throw in Gears 2(every once in a while, maybe more once this DLC pack comes) I only play Horde, Cliffy B. really screwed the MP up compared to Gears 1.
Uncharted 2’s MP is already really good, and its only the beta. Also, the Co op is some of the best Co Op since Resistance 2’s.

I’m in the beta and this is certainly an impressive MP entry from Naughty Dog. It’s not quite like anything else out there and I really think it should be an amazing full release, especially if they take out some of the griefing possibilities for co-op and quite possibly provide some preventative mechanism against the ease of spawncamping in competitive MP.
I’ll be going back and playing Uncharted 1 this weekend… :bgrin:

I am in the closed beta and to be honest I dont really like the MP I dont know why I guess its not for me. But either way I am still getting the game since the first one was awesome.

I have it from being an eu beta tester. It’s fun! The co-op is what I’ve played mostly so far, and its cool how you can play through it so many different ways. Some people are already getting seriously good at the online aswell ^^
