What now? Even if Capcom won’t remove unblockables/tweak the engine, it seems like they’re still blockable. Really hard to do but not impossible according to Laugh and Infiltration.
I obviously didn’t know that. I wasn’t around when unblockables/hard-2-blockables were discovered. I just read the name, “unblockable”.
…also, why did this become news then?
Laughfiltration just explained it prettier with a fancy video (and probably have a bigger likelihood of getting Capcom to fix this than random SRK posts do/ )
1f blocking isn’t practical, so the term “unblockable” stuck.
Besides Gen corner unblockable is ultra hard to block, now the thing is that the fear of unblockable is STILL more potent than the unblockable itself. The oga unblockables are more of gambles tho. If they don’t know they eat unblockable, if they do know they eat a non cross oga
No, I don’t think so. He will still have cross up oga at least. Which is as ambiguous as d unblockables. Anyways I have tried to reach maximum potential with this old fool but it seems impossible. Still lose with him, still not able to maximize all I do. Can’t even wiff punish pokes. Damn it man. As for the update to 2013, I don’t really care what they do anyway.
Someone tested this wiggle block against Gen’s unblockables?
This seems legit to me because: If you got 1f to block in the right direction, you got 1/10s to do this.
People can wiggle a stick back and forth once in a tenth second, can’t they?

1f is 1/60th of a second, and even if it were humanly possible to move that fast, the game would only read one input on that frame. Some hard-to-blockables just aren’t as hard to block as others though, and the ones he showed aren’t very hard to block, especially the Fei Long setup. The trick to blocking them has always been that you can’t hold the direction as you wake up, you have to wait to block. That’s all he’s doing, even if he doesn’t realize it. The reason his wiggling doesn’t work in the opposite direction is because he’d be waiting and walking into it, rather than waiting to block.
The later the attack hits, the more time you can wait and the easier it is to block. Gen’s easy unblockables against Guy and Ibuki hit on the 1st frame they wake up, so they have 1f to block it. I think it might even be a fake crossup if they do that, so they’d have 1f to hit the wrong direction. Seth might have it easier, I can’t remember.
Derbene, why are you worried about this, most of Gen oga unblockables can be crouched under and it will wiff. The only tough to block unblockable is the ones in the corner vs guy, ibuki and seth as they more or less hit on first frame, also the unblockable on the twins too. You don’t need to worry because 90% of FGC have no clue on how to block. My video showing how to block unblockables only got 7000 views so not many players viewed it. So relax.
