lol at various Sonic remixes…
nope. im covering all the old unblockables. there is a lot of people that have no idea how mvc2 works and just say “DAT MARVEL” when something weird happens. I’m doing videos on unblockables and PROBABLY misconceptions that people have.
add the pushblock unblockable where u cant block low. I hate that.
as a non marvel player, i appreciate it as it helps me understand what im watching.
also - your avatar is HILARIOUS.
Good stuff , Magnetro. You’re doing more for the marvel community with these very understandable videos than anybody else has cared to do in the past.
I have a question about the shockwave unblockable: In the beginning, Cable assist gets hit early on and IM can block by the end. Later in the same video, Cammy assist gets hit early on and Cable cannot block the end. In the video, it says, ‘Even if the assist gets hit during the beginning of the super, the unblockable will happen toward the end.’ That didn’t seem to happen with IM/Cable-b assist?
I’m not trying to nitpick or anything, just trying to get further insight as to why one case IM can unblock and block again, while Cable unblocks (right after Cammy gets hit I’m assuming), but then can’t block by the end, either.
Really good stuff, though. You should consider making your own site (and tutorial!). You’d get mad advertising money if you care for that, that’s for sure.
good question.
i’m assuming its because in the im/cable snippet they are in the corner. If you notice, cable/cammy have some space to fall back on. Not too sure though, i’ll leave it 2 godnetro to ellaborate.
godnetro, plz make a video of the pushblock glitch. IMHO, that makes msp 10x more deadly than it already is.
Awesome videos Magnetro and great explanations. You always have the best quality vids, what capture card and software do you use?
please oh God don’t get into that.
im being serious.
also to magnetro2000: i don’t get your avatar
EDIT: let me help you on one netro
The reason why it is unblockable is because each shockwave counts as 1 hit. when the assist gets hits by a shockwave bar, there is nothing to block on the screen until the next shockwave comes back up on the screen. If you are standing where the shockwave is going to appear, you don’t have time to get into block stun to block it.
It is similar to Sentinals drone super. The difference is sentinals drones are 3 seperate hits with 3 groups coming at you so there is 9 possible hit points. if you call your assist and do an AHVB, if your assist takes all 3 drones from any group, you can go right through it cause there is nothing left to block until the next set flies onto the screen. Cable can do it without an assist but is a little harder to time because he has to be exactly the right height so his beam hits the 3 drones before it touches his body.
Just PM me if you need help with the next one.
Oh and if you don’t believe my theory, an easy way to test it is have player one be anyone, cable, mag doesn’t matter. Have player 2 have very low health. Player 2 calls an assist that takes a long time (ex. doom rocks). when P2 calls assist, kill the point character with P1. Now that there isn’t any point character to block against, P1 can NOT block the rocks coming at him from doom, he will just be walking back until the rocks hit him.
I thought it was an intended feature so people don’t abuse push blocking.
It is intended.
I do it with chun li pretty often. c.lk has to be real meaty though, i guess to make up for the extra frames it takes for the normal to come out and make contact.
Great Vids magnetro.
This is like rolling -> Doom’s unblockable c. fk over and over. This has existed before Mike Z even made that Doom video.
shits on self
whoops
I’m not sure what you mean. I might know what you’re talking about but you’d have to elaborate more 'cause I’m confused. Sorry.
Thanks and yeah it’s mid-screen. http://zachd.com/magnetro/
lol
What? I think you posted in the wrong thread…
I’m not sure that this is correct and I’ll tell you why.
In those videos Magnetro made, you see a point where Cable-B gets hit, but then Ironman can still block the incoming hit. 2 things:
IronMan wouldn’t have been able to block if indeed cable-b took the only hit that the shockwave produced. You can’t be in block animation if there is nothing on the screen to block-- like you already know, this is why Sentinel, Doom and others have an unblockable.
If this 1-hit concept were true for the shockwave super, everyone would use an assist that goes in front of them (tron-g, cyc-b, psy-a, cable-b) to take the first hit of the shockwave, then do their own full screen super. Sure, this works for calling tron-g to take HSF drones while Storm is free to do qcf+lk without getting hit, but it’s not the same as this shockwave idea. Something else is definitely going on.
I’m not quite clear on Magnetro’s response explanation, either. In both cases in his video, the assist gets hit fairly early on, but in 1 case, IM can block. In the other case, Cable point cannot block. Both are at the end of the screen.
Magnetro: Are you saying because Cammy was hit somewhat midscreen, that’s why Cable could not block? Also, if you ever have free time, do you think you could do a slow motion of the Cable point and Cammy assist part of that video, just like you did for IM point and Cable assist part? I don’t know if that will tell much besides Cable point couldn’t block.
BTW, you should totally have your own site, dude. MvC2 explanations are worth a whole site themselves, even apart from videos. It’s a lot of work, but your video format and explanations make the most sense to everyone. In a way, you’re already making a video-version of a strategy guide for MvC2 (which is probably the only way to do it for a game this complex-- text simply won’t work).
It has more to do with positioning. The screen MOVED because it was mid-screen and not corner.
No.
And WHAT THE FUCK?

you need help on next chapter?
Hahhaha yeah. I was wondering what that one was about.
Anyway, the next videos will probably be somewhat low tier oriented. Eventually I’ll probably make a short video showing unblockable normals that top and low tiers have (the normals that hit on both sides).
Gotcha, I think I understand the shockwave unblockable a little better now. That’s some complex stuff.
By your own site, I meant www.magnetro.com or whatever you wanted (www.itsmahvelbaby.com etc). That’ll give you a little more control over what you wanted to do. I had some ideas (like having the 12 most common top tier teams as a 12 box select screen, just like ST. The person visiting the website then gets more information on each team when they click on the appropriate box), but haven’t had time to do it since I’ve been busy setting up other websites of my own.
Not that Preppy isn’t awesome for hosting for you and having a great site himself… just that I figured your material could warrant its own separate website.
