Umvc3 wesker changed?

I’m currently feeding on all the hate and salt pertaining to Wesker buffs.

Feels ouroboros, man.

About Rhino Charge…wasn’t there a problem with Wesker not being able to counter properly because of the invincibility on the super. It would make the moves go through you b/c it’s invincibility would start before the actual counter started. Wouldn’t an increased invincibility window make this problem worse?

The short answer? probably. Wesker’s 5 frames of invincibility cover the startup of the move, and it is no longer invincible when active. Assuming they don’t change the startup, it’ll mean he’ll be invincible during active frames as well. Unless the counter can still proc while invincible from an attack (unlikely) it’s a nerf.

The Rhino Charge was nerfed. There were no buffs for it. It now takes LONGER to be invincible. It did not get it’s invincibility frames increased. THE START-UP for the inv Frames got increased.

he is braindead. all the other characters you listed are braindead as well with the exception of ammy, but at least, they have relatively hard combos

The line is in very poor English. But either way it’s a nerf - it either has longer (but still invincible) start up, or it’s a counter that can be stuffed. One makes it harder to use and reduces what it can actually be used on, the other is just…fucking retarded. A counter hyper than can be stuffed is as dumb as counter ultras with a full second of recovery.

First of all, more invincibility on a counter hyper is a bad thing. The point of a counter hyper is to, y’know, counter stuff. More invincibility means less time in the counter state, which is bad.

Second of all, decreased startup is a nerf? Just because something was decreased doesn’t mean that it’s bad. j.M still isn’t that great of a normal, but less startup = comes out faster = better move.

Faster j.m means you might be able to use it as an air-to-air now.

Excuse me, but didn’t they say that Wesker’s teleport is a frame or two slower now? I’m not sure if it’s true considering that it’s not on the list of changes, but someone please help clarify this for me.

Damn. Max confirmed in his video that Wesker gets his speed and damage bonus just from using his Phantom Dance. Just confirmed it mathematically.

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid of the new and IMPROVED Wesker.

And prompt all of you to go look at Maximillian’s vid, above my post. The Counter got the start-up for it’s invincibility frames increased. It has a few non-inv frames in the beginning and then it goes inv. Look at Dive kick beating it out clean in the video.

@Viscant, you said on Wake-up SRK that he got more inv (which would also fuck him up) but it’s certainly not that. The wording is so tricky.

Regardless, I dig the buffs. But Wesker’s counter was a proper counter. Really well integrated. Now it’s… remy-tier. Maybe not as bad as that, but it’s dumb to beat out a counter, honestly.

After seeing Wesker’s damage output without glasses (800k meterless combos and unscaled midscreen max mashed max wesker does almost as much as a lv3), it’s safe to say that Wesker is going to get nerfed very soon. Either that or he’s gonna be a staple character on every team.

Is there some sort of infatuation with raw mid-screen phantom dance going on? Did I miss the memo?

You can start the combo all kinds of ways and still wind up around 750K. And the teleport canceling off Cobra Strike was just to demonstrate that new ability and how it allows him to put himself into and out of the corner at will. Fyi, I did not main Wesker in vanilla, and only spent about 20 minutes putting this combo together, so I’m sure there will be some much nastier stuff once the Wesker players get their hands on him. The speed boost alone opens up all kinds of possibilities.

so is the counter nerf that huge? sounds like all you need to do is time your counters and make it count if a few of the invicibility frames got increased.

i can see capcom patching this character. but who knows…i doubt wesker is the only characther that gotten stronger when he was already strong. ima wait a month before i make my jugdement. but knowing capcom they’ll nerf him.
