UMVC3 = very noob UNfriendly

Tekken noob friendly? It’s pretty hard
spamming assists, wut?

The only thing I’ll agree is that people had a lot of time to this game from release. For those newcomers, they have to take a lot of losses to reach that level, and it’s not even high

I think that’s the biggest issue. People have more experience in this game. Like my friend who just started out, he finds it hard online since he is matched with people who reset rank or played quite a bit. On the other hand, I just started LoL and found it very nice at first since we were all the same level, barring 1 or 2 smurfs

Thats not what I said. I clearly said at the end that my point was that compared to games that had a much harder curve such as MvC2 or Killer Instinct, this game is very noob friendly. I think when saying a game is or isnt, you HAVE to compare to something that is the opposite to even have a standard. If this game isnt noob friendly, what is? Fucking smash bros or SF II? get real. This game was very easy to learn. When I have friends come over and they play MvC2 and MvC3 back to back, they all agree that 3 is much easier to comprehend and play. So tell me, whats your logic negative Nancy?

Dude, Tekken/soul caliber is a button mashing game. I admit, I haven’t played any of them past maybe 2005 but the early Tekkens didn’t win me over with their ease of play. My 5 yr old can beat people at tekken hitting random buttons.

facepalm

Once someone called She-hulk a Phoenix Wright with muscles. She then called them an ambulance.

Everyone is a noob when they first start any game.

Winning lots online matches in the first week of a new fighting game when most people aren’t really sure about what they’re doing doesn’t count as being noob friendly.

But with you apparently not being a noob how is your current online win percentage even relevant? It’s different for people coming into this game for the first time, especially now that ToD combos are considered standard and incoming mixups are more optimized.

This is a scrubby statement. This is a team game, what’s wrong with “rely[ing] on assists”? What do you mean, “pure combos”?

It’s easy to kill other characters but it’s also easy to get your own characters killed. Mix that with inexperience with the game, and you end up with something not very newcomer friendly. No need to brag about your own online exploits.

Yes my man. You are 100% correct. I’m glad that you established that in a very opinionated forum, I am not allowed to have an opinion. This game is hard and probably one of the hardest games ever in terms of learning. Now I will go bash my head in for ever having an opinion. You should try to find a job where you get paid to tell people they are wrong. Let me know how the search goes and what the annual salary is on it. I might even quit my job and join you :-/

Bingo…Gluck is on one.

Double

Lol, I never even said that. Of course we’re all allowed to have opinions in an open online forum, and my opinion is that your opinion is wrong and I gave reasons for why I think you’re wrong. Problem? Then tell me why I’m wrong.

Lol, didn’t say that either. We’re not talking about how difficult it is to learn how to play this game, we’re talking about how harsh it is to newcomers. I said that this game was noob unfriendly, not hard to learn.

For someone trying to attack me for belittling someone else’s opinions you sure don’t seem to be giving my opinions any sort of respect.

lol, man I’m just being difficult with you; I’m an Infantry officer so I’m allowed to have an ego :stuck_out_tongue: But seriously, if you’re saying this is noob unfriendly, please give an example of a noob friendly game. You cant make a random line in the sand and gauge it against nothing. if this game is hard or hard to learn or wtf ever, then what would be easy? please dont say a baby game like pokemon or smash brothers. use a real fighting game that requires real command inputs. Otherwise, this game IMO is very noob friendly compared to a game like Killer Instinct, MvC2, or even SF alpha series.

Again, I didn’t say “hard to learn.” If you want to put in the effort getting competent in MvC3 isn’t too difficult. I said “unfriendly to noobs,” because let’s face it, if you’re a first-time, inexperienced player and you go into an online match you WILL get hit by a ToD and then you will get put into an incoming mixup that you WILL get hit by, leading to another ToD. If you manage to get by the first two characters, an XF3 comeback by the opponent is inevitable.

Of course, if you spend more time with the game you’ll learn your own ToDs and you’ll get more used to how UMvC3 matches play out. But when you’re a noob, you feel pretty helpless when you first dive into online. It’s hard to get people to warm up to a game that punishes you so harshly for a single mistake. Most current gen FGs aren’t like that.

edit - SORRY I am a jerk

This thread went from dumb to dumb and hilarious the second I read “Negative Nancy.” Please continue, Officer Gluck.

How people are making points for this game not being noob friendly is beyond me.

You’re living proof that this game is not noob friendly

Typo?

?

The two things contradict each other.

First quote implies: This game is noob friendly.
Second quote implies: This game is not noob friendly.

What? Read it again the word not is in there.

Not being noob friendly=noob unfriendly.
