You can delay the hopscotch by a lot actually. You don’t need to execute the cancel that fast. Against smaller characters its better if you delay the xx hopscotch for sure though. This will also help your j.Ms connect after the second launch cause delaying the hopscotch causes them to closer to the ground.
Plasma Beam doesn’t really “lockdown” per se. Usually more for clearing the ground and clearing out the opponents assist. If you want a RTSD Trish, you’d want something more like Weasel Shot or Task horizontal arrows. Those won’t knock down the opponent and offer more opportunities for Trish to get in.

I’ve been heavily thinking about the Dante/Trish pairing, and there is a fundamental flaw with the team structure. Unless you run team Jago, or another team with an OTG assist/Hidden Missiles, you seem to really inhibit yourself. Peekaboo is an amazing assist, and it’s great for Dante. However, Dante doesn’t get any extension out of the assist. Dante’s most reliable source of damage without being able to build tons of meter is unblockable resets, which requires the low assist. The issue with all of that is you sacrifice a powerful neutral assist for that extension. The Round Harvest DHC is a great option to up Dante’s damage, but it’s unreliable outside the corner. It also gets rid of Dante’s red life. Once Dante dies, you have Trish without a neutral assist. I think Trish is severely slept on like you do, but she isn’t the strongest character without a neutral assist. Trish also doesn’t have a great DHC to work with, so her damage is going to be relatively low. Raw tagging Wesker can be a remedy, as he is pretty good with Peekaboo, but he still isn’t fully backed by Trish. XF3 Trish isn’t the best anchor either.
Basically, the team is so strong with setups, but I feel it doesn’t have a reliability about it. It seems to fall apart rather easily with a characters death, and I don’t feel like it gives Dante or Trish justice. Teams individually built around those characters just seem overall better to me.
I want to hear you sentiments on this. I have A LOT more to say about the pairing, but I don’t want to overload you with too much information.
When I get back home I’ll try to give a good opinion on my team and the shell.

Haha. I’ll check them out sometime. I’ve played the team A LOT myself. I have a good grip on it. I am looking forward more to hearing you explain what you think rather than seeing it being played. It’s definitely a good team. It’s an excellent team I’d say, but I think it’s flawed in a way. I am just coming to the realization that a Dante team or a Trish team is better than them together, as the synergy between them isn’t as great as I initially thought. They do have synergy though.
I’m don’t think this is useful but I just found out that Trish can combo round trip into round harvest. Normally If you throw round trip the game won’t let you do round harvest because she doesn’t have the sword. If you have 1 bar then you can use a THC to get round harvest while round trip is going. Depending on the distance you will need to use switch signs to bring the opponent to you. Again, I don’t think this is useful because if you bring your opponent that close to you then you can also just use her normals to combo after round trip. I just thought it should be noted in case someone can find a good use for it.
Interesting…I’m sure this does have some use to it. I’ll probably Experiment around with it alittle bit to see what I can come up with. Would be rather situational though =0
I don’t think comboing into Round Harvest is the best use of this, when I think of this I think of using it to setup a tag > unblockable. There are certain times where opponents block round trip from a bit of a distance, so maybe you can THC the round trip into round harvest > tag > unblockable. Might be cool to use, if your Trish can’t seem to land a solid hit.
Sorry I haven’t got back to you. I’ve been lazy since I have to do all this by phone. I really have no problem playing my team once Dante dies because wesker still has the threat of xfactor command grab and the next character has to eat a silly incoming mixup with peakaboo teleport.
But yeah there are some small flaws in the team but im more than confident in every single one of my characters so I can go without a nuetral assist from time to time. But looking at your team I really don’t see where she fits in. My whole is based around point trish giving her all the tools she needs. I would suggest playing wesker second for unblockables and having a silly assist like disruptor in the back.
Also if anyone wants to watch I played a lot yesterday on option-select definitely towards the end.

I already play that team sometimes (Trish/Wesker/Mags). My listed team was an experiment to give Dante tons of tools. When Trish came in she usually did well enough, but it wasn’t maximized. I feel like the best Trish teams give her an OTG assist, a set up for unblockables, and a decent DHC. It’s hard to get all of that in. Something like Trish/C. Viper/Dante is an example of that. Trish/Sentinel/Wesker is another example. I’m not going to stop playing Trish. She’s my favorite character by far and she fits me the most (she oddly feels like Lambda-11 from BlazBlue to me…). I just was examining the weaknesses in the Dante/Trish shell since I usually only analyze the strengths. Make sense?

My point character was usually Wesker or Magneto but now adding Trish for sure to my vergil/doom shell

I’d play the team with Vergil in the back and doom second. But that’s me.
Let Trish burn the meter she builds (or whatever of it she can), let doom foot dive for meter for the lvl 3 kill or for vergil. Let vergil come in and derp with DT/Swords/Sword formation mixups.

What do you guys think of a Trish/Task/Ammy or Dante team?
I was running Trish/Viper/Dante (or Dante/Trish/Viper and Viper/Trish/Dante), but I don’t like playing Viper. I feel like this team more or less offers the same things with less execution strains and more defensive options (I am a defensive player at heart). You lose the OTG capabilities, but that’s not too big a deal.
I’ll compare and contrast the two:
Trish/Taskmaster/Ammy:
Trish is complimented with two great assist (Horizontal Aim Master and Cold Star) and these assist are flexible (Vertical Aim Master can be substituted in some matchups). Cold Star gives Trish instant over head opportunities, and Aim Master is a general purpose approach or runaway assist. Trish gets a reliable damaging DHC from anywhere on the screen, and unblockable set ups via Round Harvest + Taskmaster’s Sword Master with Cold Star. It’s basically a really well rounded team for Trish, and when Trish dies Taskmaster does well with Ammy assist. Also, Ammy is a good anchor. The only thing I see missing is an OTG assist, which is admittedly hurts Trish.
Dante can be substitute on this team over Ammy, but I feel like this hurts the team. If you play Trish/Dante/Taskmaster you lose the better DHC for Trish, but Dante will have a good neutral assist. Also, Jam Session is great to Taskmaster, but I think Cold Star may be even better. Lastly, Ammy is a better anchor than both characters.
Trish/Dante/Viper
Trish gets a decent, but less reliable DHC from either of these characters (Burst Time is a great one in the corner, but not anywhere else). Trish does get an OTG, but loses having two dominating neutral assist. Unblockables are still possible with Round Harvest + Viper’s Focus Attack with Jam Session. The greater weakness to this team is that when Trish dies the second character (whether it be Dante or Viper) doesn’t have the neutral support they need. Also, I think Ammy is a better anchor than both of them.
What I want out of my Trish team is:
Unblockables (I don’t want to rely on them though)
A damaging DHC
Assist to compliment her game
A reliable shell behind Trish
An OTG assist.
It seems I can’t have it ALL exactly. Admittedly, some arrangement of Trish/Viper/Dante may be the better team, but I feel like my Viper is too weak. Also, Viper’s neutral game isn’t really buffed by Dante without another assist. I’d say Viper/Dante work GREAT if there is a third character (Strider, Doom, Mags, etc.), but the two alone seem to be missing something.
After experimenting, I really like the team (Trish/Task/Ammy). What I was most disappointed in was the damage from OTG Maximum Voltage to Legion Arrow. It’s not nearly as great as I was hoping, but it’s still reliable. You can remedy some of the damage by doing Trish’s hyper in the air and DHCing into Upwards Legion Arrows (corner only). What I was really pleased with was how well Task’s Horizontal Aim Master works with Trish. It’s just slow moving enough to create shenanigans with st. M + cr. M etc. We all know how beastly Cold Star is as well XD. The unblockable set ups require more finesse and timing than with Wesker’s gun shot or Viper’s focus attack, but they’re still reliable and effective. If they decide to take the Round Harvest or raw tag into it, Task has fewer options than Doom or Dante, but he can still maneuver them into an unfavorable position with Cold Star behind him. That’s the beastly thing about Round Harvest unblockables. If you block, you get killed probably. If you don’t you’re forced to: A) Take a shit load of extra damage anyways that may kill you, B) Spend meter on a Alpha counter, C) Raw tag a second character into half life or so.
Those are all favorable positions I’d like to think.

pretty sure it’s like a 1 frame link but it’s possible. It’s not that big of a different combo as you’re giving up damage. The combo Jago does is pretty easy though.
