Might mean that you have to DHC using quick hitting hypers that OTG then, like Storm’s Hail Storm
Honestly the fact that her Max Voltage OTG’s is kinda moot IMO, I mean 9 times out of 10 I’d rather go for a Round Harvest set-up as opposed to raw damage with Trish anyways
Although, considering Max Voltage can OTG now, does that mean that if she connects an air Max Voltage midscreen they won’t drop out when they hit the floor anymore? THAT’S actually pretty sick if that’s the case…
It’s just nice that she can combo off her air throws now without the need of an OTG assist. That’s a big improvement IMO.
Also means in Ultimate that you could air throw, air max voltage, air x factor air max voltage and I bet it would kill someone.
As far as my own personal use of Trish, I have Wesker assist, and come Ultimate Iron Fist’s otg (potentially), so I never really had an issue with combos off of air grabs. But I can see where that’s a big buff to someone who chooses not to utilize an otg assist.
I’m actually thinking I that I already know a way she can connect Round harvest and Max voltage in 1 combo without an assist on ultimate. It requires a combo I know which I knock them down the Floor REALLY close to the ground, thinking maybe I can Round harvest and TK Max Voltage. 2 problems with that though…The Round harvest will probably propel them upwards making it useless, and The OTG Window “looks” smaller on ultimate…Maybe that’s just me hoping though.
well Trish OTG relaunch combos will do more damage now thanks to OTG max voltage. That’s easily a dead low life character depending on how well all the hits come out. (low life meaning around 800ish mark)
Do you guys think Trish’s Low Voltage assist will be ‘considerably’ better in UMvC3 to the point where its a decent replacement for a beam assist? I know I’m gonna keep Trish and most likely play Vergil, and on a whim Nova (if I don’t like him then Taskmaster), but I was always dissatisfied with Trish’s Low Voltage assist and wondering if UMvC3 will change that.
No, it’s unlikely to be significantly better even if it comes out faster. But it is still possible to get good combos after a mixup when using it with the right characters and the right mixups. Beams, drone, task’s arrows, and the aku-tatsu allow you to be a lot looser with your mixup timings and still manage to get consistent results. You just have to be more on point with your tactics to effectively use her for the same purpose. In a game as chaotic as this one, that can be very draining. That’s just the advantage of those other assists and LV will never duplicate that.
So now in at least one build mashing Maximum Voltage gets more “hits”. Problem is that it doesn’t appear more projectiles are actually spawned. Seems that the individual hits are just counted twice with some more damage rewarded. Oh well.
I wonder how much u can increase the damage for max voltage if u mash it, it doubles the hits so that’s crazy. I just watched the iplaywinner NorCal vs Capcom stream n there were some trish players knowing what they were doing.
Two things I noticed
-If u end ur air combo with max voltage it looks like you stay in place more and can’t fall out of the super at all
-If u otg with max voltage it looked liked you can follow it up with a DHC, Im pretty sure it picks u up but I cant 100% confirm it since the guy didn’t DHC after it.
I was watching the Norcal stream too but I felt like after the otg Max Voltage there wasn’t enough time for alot of DHCs to work (they looked like they dropped real fast after the hyper, not to mention they are already really low to the ground). This actually worried me bc I want to use her on point and I was curious if only specific chars (or any chars at all) can DHC after her otg Max Voltage. Can anyone confirm?
My guess is that a quick hyper that also OTGs like Storm’s Hail Storm would be able to follow it.
Yeah. It doesn’t look like it picks up to me either. People that use it have been careful with their DHCs.
But hey, at least it’s still a knockdown. No matter the scaling in the air, they’re guaranteed to not recover until they hit the ground. That still counts for something.
Trish OTG, nice can’t wait to test her out again lol and I’m guessing new combos. But, when do you do OTG max voltage like you do standard combo and bring them down and jump slightly and shoot the ground or different?
That’s pretty much it. OTG air max voltage is probably just a combo ender unless you have another char that can also OTG by assist or DHC.
The ability to wail away on caught assists on the ground is invaluable. And it tends to be a very safe hyper. Probably not fast enough to keep comboing back into itself though. Which is fine. An AHVBing Trish would require too many nerfs elsewhere to be reasonable.
Edit: Editted out pointless speculation that I had no real clue about.
Trish will likely work like the discovery i made for task when it comes to hypers like theres that otg.
EXPLANATION: Hypers like theres leave projectiles flying when they dhc to someone else. Which means while u r switching the oppenent will continued to get hit Example if i do taskmasters bnb as i pursuit the oppenent after the launch i do an air S which knockthem down and go into downward arrows because of the HEIGHT i can dhc to ppl that wouldnt normally hit safe for instance ryu and his tatsumaki hyper will connect because the arrows that where flying and otging when u dhc’d are continuing to do that for you.
You probably can dhc to someone else with trish u will just need to be at Super jump height. Also because her hypers angle more then taskmasters you might have to use someone with a hyper that has forward momentum examples being any beam that goes horrizontal or cap with his shield charge hyper.
Random fact I heard last night on the Ultimate NorCal vs Capcom stream - Seth said that Trish was one of the first characters they completed in vanilla MVC3, which he said is why she seemed a little unpolished compared to later cast members. He mentioned that many small things for her were tightened up in Ultimate.
I honestly felt she was pretty good in Vanilla with just a few issues (no OTG or self-combos off throws/air throws), so that’s a little scary to consider.
Trish def is upper middle tier-lower top tier in vanilla i think ppl didnt put time and effort in to make her a better played charecter but she has great matchups against the majority of the cast especially a lot of the major rushers you see in tourney play
It’s not that people didn’t take the time, it’s just that the other good characters required less work or had a TOD combo or had OTGs. Trish could only go so far.
regardless ppl still didnt take the time to play trish and learn more about her. Honestly ppl didnt even flesh out other charecters like modok and v.joe imo
