all of her special moves scream keep away on them so i dont see why not, you cant use round trip in front of an enemies face…nor low voltage…nor peekaboo (remembers free death combo from a zero) and hopscotch can be used to keeping characters locked in place but that isnt exactly rush down either :x oh and her Round Harvest super, cant do that in front of someones face when rushing down. The only part thats not rush down is her nice sword range, fast poking lights, divekick and tridash…Lv 3 super, and mix all those together youll see she has more tools in her disposal for zoning / keep away than she has for her rushdown.
Oh and i saw the Round Trip property thing, the fast mode for her boomerang isnt exactly useful only when your opponent likes to spam advance guard nonstop, where it would hit with bad hit stun anyway so theres no way to confirm unless your already on his face which i doubt. I prefer the Slow or Stop one depending on where i am on the screen, if you do the slow boomerang youll notice it drags the enemy towards you alot like fake vacuum, if you do the slow boomerang in middle of the screen it would do alot of chip damage. the Stop one is still best to me because it does great chip damage over the poor vacuum and it allows you to get tricky if you threw it from full screen, stopping it in front of an opponent even if its not hitting it sometimes moves forward at the enemy before returning back also which is funny.
Spiral wasnt a keepaway character. Neither were Testament or Mariah. Arakune isnt a keepaway character. Rachel isnt a keepaway character…if you’re not catching my drift all these characters are able to have things linger around on the screen and yet their effectiveness were still as rushing down WITH THOSE KEEPAWAY TOOLS. The traps are to limit the other characters movement on screen and be an annoyance. Not to actually hit them and do damage. I dont even try to get anything off of a peekaboo hit. I’d rather them be flustered by constantly running into the traps. If Trish was a keepaway character her traps and projectiles would do good chip damage and they dont.
The purpose of her traps, for instance are to jump and lay a hopscotch then divekick. You cant jump up there to get her as she’s coming down, and now that the trap is on the floor you cant cross under her to try and punish her on the way down. You’re forced to eat the kick and she has you where she wants you.
Fighting Wesker? Make sure a trap is on screen at all times and then do whatever you please. Why? A trap on screen will stuff maximum Wesker every time. Trish’s traps are for her mobility to be effective.
The reason why Trish is good is cause she is versatile. Of course there are characters who out zone her and characters who rushdown better than her, she’s supposed to fill multiple roles.
For the Wesker fight, play more keep away. I like to jump back H and abuse Trish’s range. Double jump to keep him guessing, you can double jump forward as he’s trying to gain ground on you and jump over his teleport. If he seems to be throwing out buttons wrecklessly as he’s advancing thats when you can start divekicking as your jumping back. Wesker’s are usually paired up with beam/drones/tatsu, so you need to look out for the common teleport tricks. Which is why you need to stay off the ground. Wesker can no long combo off of a ground gun shot like he did in vanilla so its a bit safer to jump around. Of course avoid the corners, superjump, fly, airdash away. I throw more hopscotches than peekaboos simply because gunshot beats peekaboo clean and thats what wesker is going to be doing 75% of the time anyway.
I try to throw out a Round Harvest every now and then to reset the situation. Mainly when I get my back to the corner and I’m being pressured, I try to time an assist and do Round Harvest at the same time to try and for Wesker to pushblock and reset the situation.
If your using peekaboo assist and your point character is not Trish, if you alpha counter while blocking Maximum Wesker usually the peekaboo assist will interrupt the super.
Trish is Keepaway and Rushdown. Lame out people who can’t reach her or have trouble doing so (wesker, Wolverine) go in on people who outlame her (Dorm, Deadpool).
Trish handles most of the cast pretty well. Dante and Strider are probably the biggest problems for her right now and specific assists will give you problems.
finally decided to get into marvel and decided trish fits really well in my second slot. (peekaboo is so good with hawkeye!)
anyways, is there any standard bnb for her with ultimate? right now im using the cr.l cr.m cr.h s j.m divekick hopscotch j.m divekick qcf l into her hyper, but this seems to drop weird sometimes midscreen and ill be too far away to do the second divekick.
Are there any good like universal bnbs that work everywhere for trish? The one i used I found on the combo thread but its super old.
My team is hawkeye/trish/doom btw, with doom beam assist
Hi, I’m new to trish and since I never learned anything of her in vanilla, I have NO idea whats still works in ultimate. Would anyone kindly link me to a video or write me a notation or two of her bnbs? The amount of information and mis-information hurts my brain
her basic bnb from vanilla thats still used in this game is Air :h:, :d::h:, :l::h::s:, Super Jump then hit :l: quickly then divekick ( :d::h:) , L M H S again, Super Jump :l::h:, :d::h:, :qcf::l:,:qcf: :atk::atk: (Air Maximum Voltage)
the trish combo im practicing involves her new linkable chain of combos so it does slightly more damage than vanilla. Air :h:, :d::h:, :l::h::s:, Super Jump then hit :h: quickly then :d::h:, :h:, cr. :h:, :s: Super Jump :l::l:, Double Jump cancel, :l::l: :d::h:, :qcf::l:,:qcf: :atk::atk: (Air Maximum Voltage)
i hope this helps.
I was looking at a video with Trish, doing a combo then she does round trip, but was a relaunch assist and s. back back still hit the blade. It’s was similar what RDK did with the round harvest combos and lands right back on it. I know most of you are like what is this dude talking? o.O
I remember looking at Kjunk playlist cool ass hell setups. Probably learn one with Dorm and Trish.
What do you do about dormammu? With his buffs it feels like im fighting phoenix as in th only way to beat him is to snap him in early and make sure he doesnt get full meter. With multiple stalking flares on screen and xf3…what can anyone really do?
you have to save your x factor near the end when facing dormammu, if dorm reaches 0 meters and your still alive you pretty much won specially if your using a character that gives him problems when he doesnt have meter like ghostrider, deadpool, zero or dante. also if trish is facing dormammu you should go for the Round Harvest super, its faster than dormammus stalking flare and when it reaches dorm it would disappear unless its like vanilla where if he blocks the flare would still beat at you. i know that if trish is hit / blocks a move round harvest disappears quickly so hopefully the same goes for dorm, but either way try not to let dorm start up the super when he comes out, he wont do stalking flare in front of you without expecting to get hit
i dont have any recording devices to show you but you have to time the hits after you land onto the ground with the divekick. buttt theres always KJunk to post a video of any trish combo. RIGHT KJUNK?!
there are combo videos of her, and i recently posted inputs for her BnB and a new linkable that wasnt possible in vanilla a few posts ago :o they should be doing around 700k+. And uh trish doesnt have an OTG only her air super OTGs o_o so i don’t seen why you put a frown face thar.
I posted on the other thread but no one’s replying so I’m gonna repost here.
Who’s a good third character for Trish(Peekaboo)/Wright(PressTheWitness)?
I’m thinking Wesker but I’m still learning how to do combos consistently.
