UMvc3 Trish

Hey Nini this does work! Idk what happens if you break out because I have only done it in training mode and there is not option to have the dummy counter them. but I was able to TAC into my Dorm while the sword was still hitting.

I’m running a team of GR,Wesker, and Trish. Should I play Trish on point or leave last due to because of her assist for wesker air grab resets? Anything how do I play Trish on point if she is first?

put her on point, Trish needs Wesker assist to do big damage, and Wesker doesn’t really need Trish assist. How to play her depends on your playstyle since she can do both rush/pressure or play lame and patiently wait until your opponent makes a mistake to punish it.

If i find myself hitting with her j.B from behind and having her jumps NOT autocorrect in the air, an aerial exchange works well. Even if the opp knows youre gonna do it, itll still at least hit and they have a 1/3 chance of guessing right.

Aside from that, I have no issues with trish. She’s just as awesome as ever.

I always use trish on point. You just use lame assists and divekick, and do quick overheads/tridash into low. If i can’t kill them, I tend to just go for the wakeup game using a good assist, and then if i hit them again, i kill them. If i have enough meter, and their 2nd character is weak enough in terms of life, I can kill them with a few DHCs if I hit them in the corner and get a full TK air max voltage. And even at lvl1, I found with 3 meters, i can kill most of the cast if they’re down to their last guy or something. Obviously it depends on your 2nd character (I’m running firebrand 2nd, who picks up really nicely off the hard knockdown with his super), but that’s part of finding a good team.

I run trish, storm, and sentinel. I love sentinels drone assist for Trish and storms hail storm for DHC

To be honest, I feel Deadpool is a even worse matchup for Trish. Even worse with a good assist to keep away.

Really? How come? I guess he is one of the few who can out lame trish and since he can fire diagonally up she can’t just stay in the top corner of the screen and lay down traps. But he doesn’t seem like he will be as much of an issue up close since trish arguably has the better normals.

The problem lies in getting close to deadpool. Once you get in yea you can stay on top of him but getting to him is the problem. Couple that with an assist that helps his lameness and it’s pretty tough to pin him down. I’ve tried this matchup a few times with 2 of the guys who play deadpool in the area and it’s downright hard. (one plays Deadpool with sent drones assist, the other plays deadpool with doom missiles). You’re taking more damage trying to reach him than you are getting in on him. It’s something I haven’t had much success with outside of one match (which I actually did rush him down before he could get the lame started) but even in that match, it was tough to pin him down.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cMWLlktb0s this is me testing derp rider in ma new trish team.
im facing a deadpool in the video with trish but i did not find many problems in the match up unless your referring to the ones that teleport all day now, but even then if you see them mess up a tele you can just super him (deadpools 3rd attempt tele) besides in this video it isnt about the trish its about the riding! look at that ride xD and XF3 trish time is unbelievably short now, she cannot be used as anchor :frowning:
P.S jump S all day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_DqO-K9oBg&feature=channel_video_title
this is a less scrubbier vid, and yes my dante sucks cause i dont exactly have the game and im getting used/ to the new 1 extra button thing o.o

I think Doom Missiles is what really gives Trish bad matchups

why so? her super randomly beats all the missiles most of the time.

you don’t have super all the time and it doesn’t stop missiles all the time either… and if your playing against someone who knows what they are doing, she has a tough time

like a dormammu with doom missile assist? :stuck_out_tongue: thats the most annoying thing i ever dealt with specially with flame carpet and a hidden missile coming from the back. and the fact if you attempt the super dorm will punish it bad

In general the toughest assists for Trish to go up against are:
[]Dante’s Jam Session - Reaches top of the screen and negates projectiles.
[
]Dr. Doom’s Hidden Missiles - Tracks, reaches the top of the screen and can pin her down to eat mix-ups.
[]Strider’s Vajira - Tracks, Can knock you down at the top of the screen with a hard knockdown leading into a kill combo.
[
]Doctor Strange’s Daggers of Danak - Also similar to Hidden Missiles, but faster with less hit stun.
There are a few others that are also annoying but don’t see much play
[]Hawkeye’s Aerial Scattershot - Just covers the area she really likes to hang out in. Most Hawkeye’s use his horizontal shot, though.
[
]Shuma’s Mystic Ray - Hits everything, interrupts what you’re doing.

**Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast **- Shuts down a large portion of the screen and negates her projectiles while he’s up.
There are tricks to dealing with all of these assists. One of the most important is leaving the ground in a way that lets you still call your own assists. If you double jump and then fly, you can call assists while flying around at the top of the screen. This means you can interrupt something like Jam Session or Hidden Missiles with an assist of your own. Send an Akuma Tatsu barreling through them or something. If they try to punish Akuma, zap them or dive kick them.

On the flip side, she has an easier time than most against assists like Akuma’s Tatsu (her dive kick and :d::m: both beat it easily) and Haggar Lariat (cancel her divekick into a Hop Scotch or Low Voltage). It’s just pros and cons.

when i deal with missiles i normally call dante assist as it blows most of them up during their decent, jam session can absorb daggers of danak, but thats just 2 of the 8 problems for the anti air game. Also when i hear an assist being called i would do a low voltage towards their location since most anti airs besides dante and striders come out fairly slow so hearing the sound when an assist is called helps greatly also.

Yeah, not enough people use Light Low Voltage in the air to keep people/assists in check. Even her Medium Version is a pretty solid compromise over the slow startup of the Heavy Version. I try to only use it if I already have them locked down somehow for the chip/meter build.

Kjunk said it best with the assists that give her problems

@daihaksu when you go against deadpool/magnus with doom missles its pretty hopeless. I just tag in my dorm/wesker to do deal with them better. The dormammu matchup is still bad for her in ultimate but it got a bit better now that flame carpet disappears if you hit him. So from 8-2 to like 7-3 lol

As Trish if you’re feeling out zoned, just go in. She’s a handful on offense if you have an assist covering her in. You can’t block her tridash stuff forever.

my friend faces me with the deadpool+hidden missiles all the time, i just recommend having a dorm dhc in because after they call assist they cant protect that assist but its really all about the meter in that situation, you can get free happy bday because of dhcing from random air super, i think this is the best solution for deadpool because now with his teleport cancel you just cant get close anymore, its just a big strategy game, Trish can still win if she catches the doom assist with random Max Voltage super, or at least well planned super that deadpool wont see coming but by that time doom would die.

I’ll say it til im blue in the face, Trish isnt a keepaway character. She has everything she needs to get in.

The only thing that REALLY gives me trouble with Trish is her weak hitstun that lets characters pop out of airborne divekicks and traps, and instead of resetting them I end up getting a full combo off some stray hit. This is usually when I’m trying to get away from someone trying to hover under/over me.

In other news, I had no idea that the different strengths of the second part to round trip have different properties. I was using the H to make the blade stay in place but the M makes the blade come back hella fast. Just when you think you’ve seen it all.

Also, Trish’s Peekaboo sets up some NASTY resets for Strider with his otg slide. Too bad he gets nothing off an airthrow without X-factor.
