UMvC3 OTT : Where the hell is Piers!

To be honest, I get angry regardless of who I lose to. It’s just that I get a lot more angry when lag is involved and I start dropping combos and missing obvious opportunities because the timing is off. Like, “I had to stop playing because I broke my controller from slamming it over and over again and no, this isn’t a metaphor, I literally just broke my controller from slamming it over and over and had to go look for a replacement” angry.

Different reasons not to get mad at you or the game? The only reason you need is “That’s Marvel!™”

And then some jaunty closing tune.

Unless you don’t know your own character’s moves - and the H OS of your opponent - then you shouldn’t have a problem.

I take all of that into account when I grab people. Against Task for example I try to bait Shield Skills if he’s grounded; I know he’s trying to do it so I can avoid eating a combo.

For instance, you can do it with Task’s st.H because you can cancel it into Sting Master and avoid that problem.

But otherwise - it’s about understanding each character and their moves. That’s how I figure out when to try to grab people.

Where’s Duke and his classic Tommy Wiseau picture for this Antstyle discussion

Yup, I make shit like that just for people who like to throw “punish.”

Stingmaster’s start up can get you thrown. And sometimes, you won’t know the H OS of the other character, if you don’t play that other character or have much experience against them.

But you’re pretty much right. And Swing is safer for OS because you can cancel it with arrows, it still starts a combo, and because you’re in the air, you won’t get thrown anyway.

@kaiten ggs i think my execution definitely got worse during the time i stopped but at least i was able to scrape out more wins for some bullshit. i liked that akuma ryu thing that was goin, i definitely wanna learn him. he’s got tools but unlike strider he does damage

was the oops about morrigan

Liked until I saw 9gag.

Fuck that place.

lololololololol @ aeris

If you’re not in the middle of playing someone I can hop on real quick.

I used to think Stingmaster was the answer, but I’ve found that Stingmaster gets me blown up just as much as Shield Skills itself does.

Just gotta play him as a footsies character, I guess… which can work offline. And only offline.

A word of advice - Swing is not safe in the corner. You can be thrown if the other player jumps a tiny distance and air throws you before your Aim Master startup finishes.

Sting Master is safe provided it’s not chicken blocked.

Yes lol then I remembered, I’ve practiced her…then I remembered why I stopped :frowning:

Gonna practice her today though, it was fun

Only if you cancel after block stun ends. You can actually cancel the swing in the start up frames, so you can do point blank swing cancels in someone’s face. What I like to do offline or in better connections is block string, empty swing, throw or low to catch someone trying to jump to throw punish.

The only problem is the dexterity to pull it off is ridiculous.

also glad to see spencer is still the anti kaiten

if i ever land one of those

You should cancel it before block stun ends. You have to cancel it such that the remaining blockstun is enough for you to start up Aim Master if you want it to be safe.

Cancelling it after block stun ends is begging to be grabbed

All this Marvel talk makes me want to play even though I’m still not fully awake from my gdlk nap >__>

i have to do work now, ill be on later
