You guys speak with reason, which I, myself, can take notes from. Thank you.
The third thing only factors when people are too far away or don’t have the money to go. Once they aren’t too far away or have the money…that’s what it comes down to.
When 8 on the Break was first kicking with MVC3/Ultimate they would get like 50 to 60 heads or more. That’s for a middle of the week local tourney. The average guys come as long as they have a chance to do swing out some people in something new.
Of all the people I’ve talked to about going to tourneys in my area the number one thing they would bring up about not going is “fear of losing or not being good enough, don’t wanna spend 10 or 20 dollars to lose etc.”. Everything else was secondary.
I’m a Brooklynite myself. Haven’t gone because of money and school previously, but I do want to just kick it a bit there sometime. Maybe I’ll show up for an OTT NYC meetup.
I’m from brooklyn too
BelleChere is so delicious~

You need either a character or an assist with a move that controls the ground space well and preferably comes out fast while covering from you to the opposite end of the stage. Examples being Magneto using EM Disruptor or using that as an assist. Another example would be Deadpool’s L and M Trigger Happy’s. It controls the ground game very well, comes out fast and does respectable chip damage.
Another strong tool is just knowing when hidden missiles is called as an assist. What I’m saying here is get your awareness up with not just hidden missiles but in general. Knowing when hidden missiles is coming and moving your character is a strong tool in just avoiding it.
Watch for hidden missiles assist call patterns too. You’ll probably catch onto their calling habits and you can use that in your favor to either happy birthday them, or do enough damage to Doom where they’ll have to stop calling Doom. That is, unless they’re an idiot and don’t mind their assists dying and coming out with pixel length life. Punishing the assist as much as you can while it gets called is good too. They’ll slowly lose life and then they’ll stop calling Doom as much.

Edit: Should note this isn’t mine, it’s from another lab monster friend of mine.
The few locals I went to in Melbourne took me at least 2 hours to get there, and 2 hours to get home, I’d need to leave early or I wouldn’t make it as well because of the last train.
I’m all for big events, but weeklies are really impractical for a lot of people, especially when you have other commitments. The only reason I’m making Friday Night Magic on a weekly basis right now is because it’s a ten minute walk.
I got to play Helm Breaker for that? No thanks.
My dude Spencer and Doom are cool though. Be 80King for days with those two.
marine ford was pretty beastly imo.
but yah the anime sucks now…its like that for all the big 3…least the manga is godlike still
People complaining about Chris G dominating just need to level up. I personally think that you make the most progress when you get your ass beat and you sit back to think “why did that happen?” and then proceed to correct any mistakes. Rinse and repeat. The same applies to sports and hell even academics.
so some weird marvel thought i just had, when certain characters block, they create force fields around them, e.g. super skrull, nova, few others
does that shield, when they have blocked something, increase the size of their hitbox?
Yo, my man Sharakonta is streaming that FFVIII. Come out and show your OTT members some love.
EDIT:
No it doesn’t. I’ve experimented with that before having the same thought back in Vanilla. Tried Nova too but no dice. Its just the animation.
man imma be tired as fuck tommorow.
i need to sleep >_<
i disagree. getting completely smashed isnt gonna teach you shit. especially if you are a weaker player
Depends on how that person learns. Some take away a lot from geting destroyed and others don’t. I personally learn from when I get destroyed.
*New player
Me getting smashed into oblivion will help and teach me a lot, game is new to me or not.
If you’re completely new to fighters, I don’t think it’ll help because you don’t have the knowledge to know what is going wrong. You’re losing but unless you’re asking, you’re not sure wtf is happening.
My biggest problem with Marvel is that when I lose, I have a very hard time figuring out what I should have done differently and still won. I know what got me killed, but I don’t know what I could have done in that same situation that would have not got me killed.
It’s usually me, on the offensive and at the advantage, doing a move that is one of my best if not my very best move for pressure. This gets countered and I’m usually just sitting there wondering… what could I have done different? I guess I could have used a weaker move, still have gotten blown up but instead had no reward for the risk. Or, I guess I could have done nothing, and given my opponent an opportunity to take momentum away and put me on the defensive, essentially giving the match away. So, I’m just sitting there scratching my head as to what in God’s name I was supposed to do differently, and still won.
Um… That [S]Crack[/S] One Piece came out. Shit is selling out faster than hot cakes!
Chapter 686 is out!

goes back to college homework
We’ll have to agree to disagree. I find it demoralizing and aggravating when I get completely smashed. The only thing I get out of getting completely trounced is that I need more practice.
This is annoying. When you dont know what you coulda done different
