Theory players say Zero is the best, but then those same theory players (who play Zero) get bodied by Spencer, who is supposedly ass.
It’s a funny little issue. People didn’t pick the cheap shit enough times against Chris G Form 1 to either get experience with said cheap shit, beat it outright, or just level up at the rate Chris G has with his busted shit. (Interestingly enough, the sentiment back then was lazy. Remember “wait for patches/nerf that bitch!”) Now, Perfect G is running around from absorbing the experience and souls of thousands of pot monsters and a few androids (Marlin, Champ, Yipes tier players) and there are no Gohans around trying to get on his level.

I probably won’t drop Zero. I’ve put too much time into him now to drop him. I rarely ever drop dem LOOPS, and my neutral seems pretty solid, so I’m sticking with him. Not to mention he goes well with Ammy, who I’ve also loved playing as of late.
If I didn’t play Zero, I’d switch to Hawkeye as my main rather than my secondary… Rushdown Hawkeye is just too fun.
I think the last time i even lost to a Spencer in a set was back in NCR lol.
I’ve moved on from my days as a Maverick Hunter, anyway.
In any case, Spencers beating Zeros most of the times just looks like it’s the player being the other player. None of the better plays aside from Flocker use him. And the rest don’t even run a good Zero team.

I’ve been saying Spencer is top 5 for months, but still think Zero is the best. True story though I quit playing this game because I’d rather never play a video game again in my life than play 1 more game against a Spencer ever.
Im referring to when Sanford called out east coast to step up and challenge Chris G and that counter picking Chris is not bad.
also. if i fight a Bison who gives Fuerte a hard time. if i can pick Guile, who bodies him free. why not

Spencer is an anomaly.
I don’t know. I still think Spencer is overrated. He’s the only really good character that I’ve been yet to be bodied by. Maybe partly because I haven’t fought Knives or Yipes yet but I’ve yet to fight an average Spencer that has bodied me like average Zeros or Wolverines ever have. I’ve probably gotten bodied more by Nova than Spencer.
I don’t know if that’s because a truly scary Spencer takes more work and ingenuity than a scary Zero or Wolverine…but I’ve yet to fight one that straight up wrecks me.
Spencer gets closest to top 5 in the second spot IMO but you can put better characters in the second slot also. I don’t feel like he’s top 5 in the first spot unless the player basically plays so well that it feels that way. I guess I’m just saying I want to fight a scary Spencer for once because there’s too many other average players of other characters that were like legit scary for me to fight…but never him.

Yeah I dont like Spencer anymore either. Shame because I loved maining him in vanilla when he was slightly less derpy. Spencer/Dante/Doom was so fun. Combo videos for days.

Good Spencers are so freaking annoying…You can never get any breathing room from him, if you try to mix him up during wakeup, he gets a free ARRMMM, etc. I only realized how scrubby the character is when I played against someone who didn’t really know what he was doing.
