Look, the dub for the show is passable, even though I never liked it because I was a huge anime nerd back then, and watched the show as it aired in Japan. But that is the single worst fucking title change in the history of dubbing.

Yeah but everyone was already fighting on empty since the beginning. 100% Kenshin vs 100% Shishio would be Kenshin all day cause the Amakekiryu Ryu No Hirameki is broken.

Ooooh! Samurai X! I love Samurai and know what they are! Add X to anything and it automatically becomes ten times cooler! I’ll buy 12!

Honestly, I could understand the ‘need’ to change the title to something more … inviting to the LCD. It’s just, Samurai X kinda implies something… Xtreme. The series was a typical shonen series - a very far above average shonen series, but nothing gritty or anything. Meanwhile, the OVAs were gritty, but they were far more intelligent than anything that should ever have an ‘X’ added to it.

Played it at EVO, based on that, I’m going to go with Toro, Fat Princess and Radec, as I had the most success playing them.
