I think Chris can do it. He can combo off of air throws and lay Chip. He has plenty of life and is a strong self sustaining battery who can win a battle of attrition. Many characters struggle with their bad matchups because they just don’t have the tools. I feel Chris is one of the characters whom has bad matchups (because he’s slower, and his specials are slower) but has the tools to turn the tables at any time. very few characters with bad matchups can survive them like he can. He’s one magnum, one air throw, one fire grenade away from turning it around. I think Chris is represented accurately in mahvel. he’s in the survival horror games, he’s got the tools to survive.
Dante can certainly anchor. movement and DT. he’s insane with XF3 DT with double airdash crossups. Sure his damage is ass, but that becomes a non factor with DT and XF. Even without XF he can survive with DT.
Magneto Anchor is under rated. many use him as point assist. But the master of Magnetism is solid.
Taskmaster can certainly anchor. all he needs is a throw and a super to remind you of why his Legion Arrows (which he clearly stole from hawkeye and strider) was nerfed damage wise from Vanilla. with XF3 that shit hurts an unnecessary amount.
I’m gonna go on a limb and say Captain America can do it. He hits hard and has two hypers that say fuck you to physical and projectile attacks. He already hits plenty hard.
Deadpool. he has infinites. and despite the teleport limitations they are DANGEROUS.
Sentinel is a high risk high reward anchor. he can escape the welcome mixup free and has the tools. he just has glaring weaknesses.
FINALLY figured out a way to kill (most characters) off of jam session + vajra, regardless of screen position, and it’s really easy.

That feel when you REALLY want to wade into a discussion, but know you shouldn’t because nothing about it is going to go well for anyone, and it will only make you look like a much bigger prick than you really are.
Storm? How so besides massive chip and assist sniping that only crazy people call assists on anyway >_>
Yeah I’ve toyed with MGS in my Wesker BnB, it’s decent. Chris just seems like he’d never open anyone up without assist coverage, nades only take you so far. Deadpool would be a better anchor if his gun assist wasn’t the diagonals and just the straight aheads. Quick work and Katana-Rama can also work with certain characters, but projectile is probably best in my case.
Knowing me I’ll just continue to rotate anchors I can’t play well and/or don’t like just because the assists work until I die
