I think it’s because people don’t play fighters anymore. They watch them. More chaotic is more frustrating to play but more fun to watch. Everybody loves an underdog, and in games with comebacks built in, underdogs have an advantage.

Focus kills the ground game, kills some type of basic zoning. Not to the degree of 3s, but you get what i mean.
