Honestly, its pretty sad that Akihiko sucks, like… most people that have played the Persona series would have a character or two that they like and find a main. However people that dont know the series for the most part seem to flock to Akihiko…

I have 4 people in my scene that are interested in using this worthless boxer so I had to show them what he can do and did his trials in front of them to give them an idea… then I show them any of the other characters and even they can tell that he’s so limited in comparison -_-

Since then I’ve understood Ace’s pain whenever i see him bitch about Akihiko, I’ve mained shitty characters before, it fuckin sucks…
Then you see mysticbranded complaining about Teddie, Teddie! a fuckin S tier (yes S tier, no you dont have a say in this) character and I slap my screen immediately hoping that the internet delivers the smack to his face…
Idk where you got this “he doesnt have a great DP/wake up options (which isnt even fuckin true) so he cant be S tier” idea from, like seriously since when was that a requirement for a character to be S/top tier? Nu/Rachel/Ara didnt have DPs but they still dominated BBCT and wrecked shit up, Eddie has been top in pretty much every single GG and that nigga doesnt have a DP either.
I really dont get this shit… do you feel more honorable for using the character that isnt “S tier” and/or is hard to use, makes you feel like you’re not just some scumbag [S]Vergil[/S] player? Is that why you keep trying to make your mains sound bad?

Teddie is S tier, and he’s easy as shit to use. You practically “master” Teddie as soon as you remember the order of his items. I’d argue that he’s the easiest character to use even with maybe Chie as the only exception.

… I need sleep, I’m just in ranting mode coz I’ve been trying to sleep for the last 5 hours yet I’m still up -__-; plus I was catching up and read a whole godamn page that was just mysticbranded whining about Teddie and trying to convince people that he’s not the fuckin 3rd best character in the game.

Running a Persona freeform that a friend dumped on me. Super-stoked to run it because I have a lot of ideas.

Anyway, I’m gonna be posting some Persona designs later on. The first three people that I know have joined have Rudra (The Tower), Vayu-Vati (The Temperance) and Yama (The Hierophant.) They’ll progress into Agni, and Varuna, and later, in the endgame, they’ll end up Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, the Trimurti, respectively. This basically fell right into my hands-- the characters they made were perfect. The rest of the cast will be other parts of the Hindu pantheon.

I have a rough sketch of Vayu-Vati, but I’ll upload some quality ones later. Stay tuned.

supposedly the manga (or light novels or whatever medium it is) deals with even more dark/depressing shit than the anime did. not sure where i heard that, though.

Yup, the anime is actually censored and censors quite a bit of stuff from the manga/light novels and a lot of themes like him using drugs/child pornography are censored(you know the part in the anime where he watches porn the first time? That’s Child Porn, not Adult Porn). There’s also the fact that the anime doesn’t wrap up the plot at all while as the manga continues a bit further and has a more satisfying ending, I highly recommend people to pick up the manga just as a first look at the series or if you are a fan of the anime.

Actually. It’s shown he’s ass when he tries to cook weird stuff. if the Udon comic is considered canon though when he cooks Mexican food he’s pretty boss. SFxT has him as an apparent rival to Marshal Law, but I don’t know how good he cooks though.

To be honest, in P4A first question I would ask myself if I’m losing a lot with my character, instead of “Why is this game/character ass”, is “What are the Japanese doing with this character that I’m not?” There has to be a reason why (some) Japanese players think Akihiko is A tier.

That’s why I’m sticking with him. I liked his character since Persona 3 so I decided to use him no matter what. Yeah matchups come up, but although they’re annoying to figure out, I feel satisfaction when I finally learn how to fight a tough matchup with my main. I also have some hope that Akihiko will become better once some tech is discovered or something.

I don’t recall much since I last watched the anime around it’s release time, but I would recommend reading the manga from the start in general, it’s not a very long manga(8 Volumes). I don’t recall much difference plotwise between the two untill around the anime’s ending, but it’s worth reading and it’s a good entry into manga if you just started watching anime/reading manga.
