I have a secondary team of sorts in Morrigan/Trish/Viper, which while I can’t use the latter two yet, is still great fun to play. The fact that it isn’t a team designed for maximum synergy and doesn’t do tremendous damage is irrelevant.
I hear you. Trish is and forever will be my go-to girl. If I really wanna make things happen, I keep her on point.
Any tips for fullscreen fireball spam?
First tip: Do not refer to it as “spam”, as doing so makes me assume that you are not thinking when you do it, and you need to be.
To begin with, you need to play something of a strategic footsies and Soul Fist game with your opponent until you are in a position where you can get into Astral Vision safely (and preferably call Doom as well in the same timeframe), which can be difficult. There are plenty of options for doing this, but they normally mean winning a footsie battle first. If it’s with a hit, you can choose to combo first or TAC and such if preferred, or you can go for an air combo and do Astral Vision + missiles on landing.
After that, you need to practice getting the timing right on your Soul Fist M -> Flight -> Soul Fist H -> Flight attacks; missing one will leave your opponent with an easy opportunity to superjump, forcing you to either do Soul Fist H on the ground (which if they’ve just superjumped into the air, can be difficult if you aren’t certain if you reached the ground yet).
Bear in mind you are using a level of meter to use AV, so failing to get much out of it is a victory for your opponent (especially if you don’t transfer seamlessly into another one, or haven’t the meter to do so.)
TL;DR : It’s a thinking game based around getting a brief victory, and using to transfer into AV, at which point it’s up to you to deal the damage you need to deal (not only for chip, but for meter build for another AV as well). Thus you need to have a decent neutral game for it to be effective.
I used to hate Trish, until I realized she can’t do anything without assists. So after I kill her two buddies I play chicken for the rest of the match.

How the fuck do you play Persona on pad? I shift between pad and stick, but i have no idea how to map my buttons on pad.
I have the face buttons by default, and LB/RB as OMC/Roll dash thing and the other one as Burst. But it’s so uncomfortable.

I tried to set my buttons close to my BB config. I changed L attack and M attack. then I made throw RT, OMC LT (which also gives me evasive action as LT) and air turn RB. It’s comfortable for me this way.
