What happened?
Nah, basically there’s an issue going around right now that involves a senator allegedly stealing parts of his speech (on a widely-contested bill for reproductive health) from several online bloggers. A few moments ago, I saw an article pop up on my news feed on Facebook that saw this senator’s aide saying it’s okay to commit plagiarism, because everyone else in the senate does it. Idiot.
I’ve been iffy about staying here after college for several reasons to be quite honest. This kinda shit just makes me facepalm hard and lose faith in my country ever being competent at something, ANYTHING.
Music scene here isn’t exactly flourishing either, if you’re not some pop idol picked up by a talk show host abroad or joined a major singing competition and won, you’re gonna be stuck under an indie record label for the rest of your career. In the US I can at least consider studying in places like Berklee or Musician’s Institute and start off from there.
