Yes. You can either jump straight up, back, or forward. Just make sure you hit H the minute you air dash down forward. Also make sure your opponent has gained some height before you air dash back down. They should be above Magneto’s head.
As for Chie vs Akihiko, I’d say they’re similar style characters, but they have a different approach to things. Chie is definitely better though.
The thing that helped me the most while learning it was to super jump right when he says hyper. I was always super jumping late. Also plinking addf with H helps.
What the heck do you do when Ak has you in a corner? I mean I can’t jump or he’ll hit me. I can’t stay blocking or I’ll be overheaded or lowed. Is there any sort of escape cue? I mean I wish I could grab him on something unsafe but Grabs have such long start-up in this game.
Look for some gaps between his pressure. Instant Block ALOT or you’ll be eating those frame traps with no end. Also DP once in awhile. Once he’s in it’s hard to get him off of you. Especially if your character has shittty defensive options.
hyper grav: there is a distinct rhythm to the super jump -> airdash down or downforward -> jH.
the problem i had was that i was doing it too fast, although others had the problem of the jH not coming out
basically, first off, you need to buffer the super jump. hyper grav is interruptable as soon as it hits, so you press down before it hits and up when it hits to get the super jump.
you need to wait a split second in order for the grav to bring them up a tiny bit, then airdash down jH (the plink of LM to dash into H for jH is the easiest way) then you just sH xx L grav again
chie used to have fatal counter on 5B
which really didn’t make any sense at all
most nerfed character tbh
You can use either or. I’ve tested it. There’s multiple ways to do it. You can also air dash straight down instead of down forward. That might be easier for you.
Start a dicussion about low tier heroes vs "Pick a top tier." Take a break from my laptop 10 alerts on my account
I just want to say a few thing about that.
Low tier hero aren’t always machoist in their mentality. Low tier heroes may very will think their character is better than what Eventhubs/Arcadia/etc do. They may very change the perspective of how strong the character is and change their rank of the character. Tiers aren’t absolute, they mere photoshoots of time in what the community believes. Many “Low tier” heroes have gotten their character to be B tier because of their hard work.
Points to UMVC3 Haggar.
I don’t have anything aganist Sanford/Tokido mentatlity, I don’t really get bothered by people rocking the most powerful characters.
Perhaps not all games have the same range of tournament viable characters. Clearly UMVC3 and SF4’s range of tournament character viability is different. Perhaps some low tier heroes/character loyalists are not bother by bad matchups because they know their character still has a chance in winning tournaments. It’s possible that ST japanese Honda player doesn’t really think his bad matchups prevent Honda from being viable for example.
Haggar got better because of his new move giving him a trillion damage off a confirm. That wasn’t because of his hard work in Vanilla or something. And that ST Honda guy is one of the best in history, has played since forever and will still lose to a hard matchup same as anyone else. Only major example I can think of a low tier character jumping is T-hawk and Hugo and T-hawk needed a death loop and Hugo took one of the best players in history playing him for years.
