Not if you’re crouching you can’t, if you expect them to go for a command throw you can jump out of it though which is easier standing, it just requires you read them. That’s the mind games with grapplers when they get close and why you ideally don’t want them close to you.
All grapplers in every game are high - risk, high - reward, they need to get in close, and when they do it’s a guessing game, they either eat big punishes or deal big damage. If you’re crouching and blocking constantly you’re limiting your options as far as using neutral jump as a way of dodging a command throw.
It is all mind games and guessing on both parts, but Kanji has really good anti-jump tools and you can’t block for like virtually 8 frames when you jump and the combo he gets from an air hit can be more damage than the command throw.
Yeah, Kanji is solid for a grappler, he’s not as polarizing as grapplers in other games…
Zoning him is always the best option, if he does get in though and you decide you’re just going to duck and block then yeah, you’re not going to get swept, but he’ll have a much easier time throwing your ass.
Ideally you don’t want to get into that position in the first - place, most grapplers have slow ass normals and can be frame - trapped quite easy.
Yes, you can jump from a crouch, but you if you’re crouching and they go for a zero frame command throw from close range, e.g. Raging Demon Super, you can’t jump out of it, because it takes a frame or more to stand before you can jump, you don’t jump from crouching, you jump from standing, you stand on your way to jump. As soon as you leave the ground though, the throw whiffs. They don’t throw you out of the air.
Holy shit, rereading my college paper just makes me realize how fake I sound in it. Using all these words I never would use in real life and shit. Same thing goes for discussions. -_-
Yes I’ve never played a series that has been around as long as I’ve been alive
Why don’t you just admit that when a grappler gets in on you its a guessing game and not this silly ass shit you’re trying to parade around as fact. If a grab is zero frames how the fuck are you jumping out of it anyway lol. Nevermind the fact Kanji actually has a legitimate low as well…
Mein don’t tell me yall losing to the Aigis antics.
Yeah, his normals are definitely slow, however Kanji has some of the best defensive options in the game. An invincible command throw, about 3 other command throws that are no more than 3 frames, really good anti-airs, and one of the best DPs in the game that paralyzes you. It’s hard to frame trap him actually, especially with Instant Block in the game.
O.k, first of all, I have admitted that, multiple times, secondly, you just don’t get what I’m on about, that doesn’t make it 1. silly or 2. wrong, it’s just something you don’t understand.
In the case of Raging Demon Super, when you see the animation at close range you can jump out of it, but not if you’re crouching even though it’s active from the first frame of start up, because it’s not touching you on the first frame it’s active, it doesn’t start up inside your body. If you’re crouching you don’t have time to stand and jump before it hits you, that’s why the kara - Demon is such a devastating weapon, watch Tokido, Infiltration, ToXY or any top - level Akuma and you’ll see it.
But whatever man, go back to… this. I don’t care, I wont try explain Street Fighter fundamentals to Marvel players in regards to Persona, it was a dumb idea in the first place, even if what I was suggesting wasn’t.
For your information, every character has a usable low, if they didn’t they’d be completely ass, that doesn’t mean it’s not a valid point.
