The only new things I acquired were Metro 2033 and DmC, which I still refuse to play. Metro is alright, technically it looks pretty incredible. Gameplay could have been better sadly.
Metro has such a nice atmosphere and mood. I think there is/was a sequel being made, not sure about that.
Speaking of awesome atmospheres i should play Bioshock 1 again, Infinite in a few weeks and Bioshock 1 has one of the most enjoyable worlds in any video game. Having read most of Ayn Rands work makes it more enjoyable.
The funny thing is that Frank West comebacks are possible because Frank’s level 1 normals are deceptively so good. Cr.h makes Frank’S hurtbox small, and the hitbox in his foot is bigger than it visually looks. So many people try to a press button on Frank at distance that isn’t far enough.
I can’t stress how much better Eighting made Frank in this game by actually giving this dude legit normals. He used to have pretty garbage normals in TVC , and that was the biggest bane of playing as him.
I played through like 2/3’s of Bioshock and got bored. Never finished it.
Never played Bioshock 1 or 2, but I’m hype for Bioshock Infinite. I really like how the atmosphere of that game looks.

On PS3 I managed to get a couple of decent matches online. At least they were okay on my end. The problem is that there were so few KOF players on there. 9 times out of 10 you’d be playing a guy who thinks he’s playing SF4… Or a trolling Brazilian dude.
There’s a chance that the netcode will be better because PC players tend to have high speed connections not through a router and won’t be dealing with console latency.
I’m hyped that this is happening but I don’t want to get my hopes up just the same.
That said, I’m actually more hyped about the UM titles. I think 13 is good but very flawed in it’s design. Whereas the UM games are more refined and haven’t been dumbed down in their mechanics.

I prefer OG 98 over 98UM, but I’m still happy that the UMs might be coming to PC. They’re great games. I just hope that SNK makes a better netcode so more people can enjoy them.
I don’t like the old games. The controls are too stiff and the balance… Well enough said. 98 has better balance but Iori in that game makes me pine for Chun in 3S.
At least the UM games have better controls and Heidern is high-mid tier. 
Another question hanging in the air is which version of 98UM is going to be ported? The Taito version or the PGM2 version? I’m guessing the Taito for convenience. Have no idea what the reception was for the PGM2 version.
I was under the impression that KoF98 players preferred vanilla over UM due to system changes, though QuickMax combos open up more options for characters. Admittedly, my SNK fighter knowledge is shallow.
Perhaps this is a sign that game companies are finally starting to realize that PC is a viable platform for fighters, too, besides tournaments using consoles.
PC 98UM and 02UM should have the Vanilla versions as a bonus

I thought 98UM was well received in Asia. The reason why the old guard prefers Vanilla is because they’ve been playing it for so long and the PS2 port of 98UM didn’t come out until a year later. Same with 02UM. It’s not a case of one game being better than the other, it’s a case of preference.
