UMvC3 OTT; EVO is over, The Day of Σ has come!

Who in there right mind would play on one of those out-the-box pads anyway. The nightmares I would have when I remember playing MvC2 on pad… Never again.

And by

I mean how do you do it?

Dafuq?

I don’t enjoy using a stick, it makes my wrist hurt.

I am weak and dainty. D:

I don’t think so…

Shoutouts to ESPN using the mvc3 font on the Espy awards advertisements. That font is starting to show up everywhere.

To be specific, it’s the loud metallic clang of the joystick slamming into the gate when I dash in non-Marvel games. It’s driving me nuts.

This is genius.

I can’t think of anything that’s not inappropriate.

I’m sorry.

Lol someone could play marvel on a ddr pad.
I don’t think marvel 3 of anything really cares about what you use.

I hope someone enters a tournament on a stream with a ddr pad.
What would a viper combo look like in ddr lol.

Oh, what Kind of stick do you have?

Also, if you just started on stick, you’ll stop riding the gate so hard after a while.

So…?

That implies you give a fuck. Your never gonna get good at Marvel unless you stop giving fucks about anyone or anything, anytime. The one true path starts in the home.

cancel a normal with Round Trip and immediately (probably 1 frame or less after release) start charging again

really easy when you get the hang of it

Don’t be so rough with it. Not sure what stick you’re using, but the amount of travel to activate the switch is actually really small. There are times I’ve done qcfs so fast, I never hit the edges of the gate. Just smooth clicks.

this revelation is the real reason people quit Marvel

I play on both pad AND stick. Get on my level! :nunchuck:

…Of scrub-ness.

MMX1 being streamed now http://www.twitch.tv/sharakonta

For me every single fighting game is on pad, I can’t even do QCF most of the time when playing with a stick. I still don’t get this of “pads bad, stick good” stuff, and really if you play with a stick then you will suck with a stick and vice versa.

Also I can’t stand that noise that arcade sticks do, playing along with a friend who plays with arcade sticks for a while gives me a headache and it’s distracting for the most part imo. Some people who record match videos and just record it with those clicks I can’t stand it >_>

Give me the notation for the combo and I’ll tell you what it looks like.

Besides, I’ve seen DDR/ITG players move their feet at 10-15 steps per second. This doesn’t seem too out of hand.

Well look at the layout.

3 attack buttons - LMH
1 launcher button - S
2 assist buttons - shoulder bumpers
1 Team attack button - Left trigger
1 Hyper Combo Button - Right Trigger

Capcom obviously wanted to bring in casuals, and casuals like things simple. I mean seriously…a universal launcher button?
You can’t play SF, Soul Cal, SG or any other FG game seriously on a pad (KOF may be the exception). But Marvel feels comfortable and playable on a pad without feeling awkward.

It’s not that playing on pad makes you bad.

But it’s worth noting that there are some things that get absurdly difficult on pad. Fortunately, they aren’t often very important.

The game is completely fine on stick.

That’s my button layout and I’m good to go.
