Yeah Drew Grimey got top 16 apparently so that’s a pretty strong showing for the Viper/Strider shell. He ended up taking Ricky Ortiz, GC Yoshi and Stone out of the tournament to get there. It’s just apparently all of his stream footage was of course the matches he lost.
It helps to have Vergil in the middle of that cheap goodness. I spent too long with Doom during Vanilla and love the TAC options too much to go to Vergil over Doom though. Viper sitting on 3 or 4 + meters after a TAC is gdlk. Dudes will have no hope soon enough.
Vergil / xx / Strider is one of the best shells in the game IMO.
There are a lot of good shells at the moment, still a ton of characters that really struggle to make it if your opponent knows the match up, it’s no where near as balanced as KOF or SFIV

Ugh, I have the same issue. I’d love to enter my local tournies on a weekly basis, but they start late and I get up at like 5:30AM every weekday morning for work. I usually just end up playing casuals only.

that’s pretty much how i run with this game now. 2 characters that go good together and 1 character who can benefit form the 2. if i didn’t like dante more then Vergil/doom i would run Vergil/doom on my squad.

Literally anything can lead to a TOD if you know the infinites and broken stuff in MvC1, seeing those tourney matches, I don’t know if this can be more broken than MvC2.
Dante/Strider is just a beastly pairing. Strider lets Dante get better damage in his combos, air resets can lead to easy hard knockdowns which Dante can hitconfirm off of, and is a good lockdown assist overall.
I posted about it because everybody was whining about her. It pisses me off, talk about something else. I’m not trying to be a douche, but it’s hard to when you’re talking about not missing Momo. Can’t we just talk about something else? She kind of just abruptly said “Fuck you all, I’m done here” and now everybody is gushing about wanting her back. I don’t understand people.
