UMvC3 Mission Mode Thread

Does anyone have some advice for Wolverine’s 10? On the last j.S, either the dummy is too high up to be hit, or I land before j.S’s active frames come out.

The most important part is delaying each J.S as much as possible. Neutral jumping helps as well. You can listen to the timing of inputs here in the link below. The rhythm would be fast then slow. Felicia mission 10 is exactly the same.

Wolverine UMVC3 Missions

You can also just delay your next jump. The key to landing the last j.MMHS is to make sure the dummy is at or near the lowest point they can be before hitting the ground when you hit that first j.M.

Thanks for the tips :). I found that delaying the j.S to be much easier than delaying my jump, but it doesn’t matter cause I’m finally done with this stupid mission. It’s been bugging me since day 1 lol.

Hmm, for Rocket Raccoon’s 10th, after the x-factor, wild ripper, S, j.M, j.S, I always seem to be way too far to connect S after I do an Oil Bomb OTG (even if I dash quickly after the OTG, I can’t connect the S). Does anyone know how I can land closer to the dummy?

This is the way I did it. After the first 2 neutral jump series, just a very slight delay then hit M at the same time you press up for the third neutral jump.

2 important steps for this one.

  • after the level 3 make sure to get a full dash in. Do not cancel your dash into Spitfire too early.
  • after x-factor make sure your Wild Ripper (F+H) has fully completed. This will put you very close to the corner.

You can watch my video for reference of this.

Why the fffff does Chun keep teching out before the last hit of Cap 8???

You have to reposition the dummy closer to the left side of the screen. This way the shield slash comes back allowing you to dash and launch them up.

I launch her no problem, it’s the very last jumping :s: that always whiffs because she techs out of the jumping :h: too quickly.

Thanks for the tip Vesper, I’m gonna go try it now.

And geez, you’re just taking over this thread now haha :D.

Interesting. You are dashing in before the launch? I can’t imagine them flipping out after a SJ.H. Besides pressing H as early as possible on the way up the only other explanation is you are not close enough to them before launching.

Well, I got Rocket Raccoon’s 10th after just 3 or 4 tries, thanks to your tips, Vesper :).

I was wondering if you had any times for Sentinel’s 10th. Right after the Sentinel Force L, x-factor, Rocket Punch L, I sometimes get the flight, j.S. I can’t consistently do it. But my main problem is that the last j.S, the dummy always flips out, no matter what.

To land the Flight S consistently you must x-factor the sentinel force as early as possible, the second the drones spawn. The jumping S after the launch is a very tight window… I would say 1-2 frame window. I would suggest timing it rather than mashing S. Press S as early as possible as soon as Sentinel leaves the ground.

It’s not very clear in the mission description, but you can’t let the Shield Slash hit twice before you follow up. If you do this, the j.S will always whiff due to hitstun deterioration. You have to throw the shield then dash up and attack immediately, the shield will still do its 2nd hit around the time that you launch but won’t break your combo. j.S should combo just fine if you do that.

StickyJ, check your inbox. I sent you a pm.

I finished recording all 50 characters and I would like the first post to be edited to make it easier to browse. Thanks.

First post updated. Many thanks Vesper

Any mere mortals manage to clear 100% yet?

Thanks for all of your work Vesper Arcade!

I finished 28 characters so far. Still got quite a ways to go.

Have to finish Akuma, Chris, Chun Li, Dante, Felicia, Haggar, Morrigan, Firebrand, Strider, Doctor Doom, Dormammu, MODOK, Phoenix, Sentinel, She-hulk, Shuma-Gorath, Storm, Super-skrull, Wolverine, X-23, Iron Fist, Rocket Raccoon.

Anybody know which ones of the above are the really tough ones?

The Haggar double headbutt #10 combo is messing me up.

I personally believe that Akuma, Chun, Felicia, Morrigan, MODOK, and X-23 are the hard ones from the ones you listed (especially their 10s).

  • Chris is pretty easy if you can consistently get Air Gunshot H, Flamethrower, Sweep Combo down.
  • Dante is one of the easier characters to get 10 missions on, the only hard one might be where you have to do Reverb Shock into Crazy Dance (mission 8).
  • Strider is easy for the most part, the only annoying thing was that you have to TK SJC the Vajra H in mission 8 which wasn’t too obvious.
  • Doom is easy if you’ve played him before/know how to do his BnB from vanilla.
  • Phoenix is easy except for mission 10 (I can’t seem to get the second TK Trap L to connect).
  • Sentinel is a pain in the ass for mission 10, you have a 1-2 frame window (according to VesperArcade) to connect the j.S before the rocket punch, and the rocket punch seems to have a very narrow window as well.
  • She-Hulk is really easy; I’m assuming you can’t do mission 10, and that you have problems connecting the Senton after j.S. If you start on the left side of the screen (with you in the corner), by the time Dante wallbounces, he’ll actually land in front of you, rather than rebounding over your head. Connecting Senton becomes pretty easy
  • Storm’s mission 9 was the only one really giving me problems, other than that, she should be an easy 9 missions
  • Skrull’s missions are kind of tough, but the as long as you delay your j.S as much as possible, you should get them
  • Wolverine is pretty doable. Assuming mission 10 is your gripe, delay your j.S’s or delay your jump.

For Haggar’s 10, I after the first headbutt, I just held up on the stick and tried to push H when he was halfway to the ground.
